July 15th

Thursday, July 15, 2010

My inlaws anniversary today. I'll have to remind Garry to give them a phone call from work today. He's on a late shift today, which means with the time difference, it will be too late to call when he gets home.

I'm attending a workshop this evening, which I'm really looking forward to. I'll need to make time to have a nap when I get home from work today, otherwise, I will be having a difficult time staying awake for the whole workshop. Be up at 4:30am each morning means late nights are just not a great idea! Thankfully, I have tomorrow off work. I had booked it off sometime back as we were supposed to be going to BC for a family birthday celebration, but that fell through. Good thing, as this workshop is one that I really want to take.

My positives:

Loving how when one door closes another door opens.
How the universe brings into your life just the perfect things or events.
Tomorrow is a day off work. Yay long weekend.
Love how when a person's spiritual level is up, staying on track with a healthy lifestyle is just so much easier.
It's not raining out this morning...we are supposed to get sunshine today! Hard to know just yet as it's back to being dark out when I get up.
Life...its so filled with blessings...all you have to do it look for them.

Have a wonderfully blessed day, keep on believing in yourself.

Hugs,
Wanda

Enjoy your workshop this evening. It looks like I am going to get two days in a row again of my internet working right, so I was able to post some pictures from Sunday on a blog yesterday. Love your positives. While I was gone Sunday there was a kitchen fire in a third floor apartment, the cleanup crew is here this morning, the lady had to go stay with her son till they get it cleaned up and repaired, thankful no one got hurt. I wish this hot, humid weather would go away, but it's not suppose to for a while, I am so ready for fall, the older I get the less I can tolarate this kind of weather. Woo hoo, on tomorrow off. DD picked green beans last night and she put some in her kitchen for us to pick up today while she's at work, yum, fresh green beans. How's your garden doing? With all the heat and humidity we've been having everything is growing like crazy. Have a great weekend.

Hugs,
Shirl

Where oh where has the sunshine gone?

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Seems like forever since we've seen sunshine. It's finally stopped down pouring, but the skies are still overcast and it appears to not be done with us yet. Siggghhhh. I'd like some warm temperatures and sunshine please. Waking up to only +10 is not my idea of summer weather. lol

Attended an interesting seminar yesterday on "inner peace". It was more of an introductory one, leading up to another one on Thursday evening. Decided that I would go to that one also, the cost is very reasonable $35.00 for a 3 hours workshop. A lot of what was spoken yesterday resonated within me, which is my guide stick for continuing. There is a reason that all this has come to my attention and until I no longer feel lead in this direction it means that there is something yet for me to learn.

My positives:
Opportunities to learn and grow in the spirit.
The rain that continues to fall...how much more I will appreciate the sunshine when it comes!
It's Wednesday...half way through the work week.
Life...it's filled with so many blessings.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit...have a wonderful day...seek your blessings.

Hugs,
Wanda

It's a Winnie-the-Pooh kinda day!

A blustery day to be sure outdoors today. The rain is still falling, the wind is blowing and the temperatures have once again dropped.
Seems like we are the only part of the country to be having cool temperatures and lots of rain. Although, some of the hotter ends of the country are supposed to be getting what we've been having soon.
Yesterday we had, storm warnings, storm watches, tornado warnings and tornado watchings happening one right after another. South of us was supposed to get up to 70mm of rain last night. We've been getting enough that our sump pump has been kicking in and out all night. Crazy weather!

I'm off to a seminar this evening on "inner peace". Should be interesting. There is one at 1pm and one again at 7pm. I'll go to the evening one.

Came home yesterday to one of my potato plants lying flat. Not sure if the wind blew it down or if something was in the garden. I staked it back up as well as I could. It had been hilled so not sure what happened. I just hope it recovers from it's trauma.

My positives:

The opportunity to attend what looks like an interesting seminar.
Having warmth and shelther from all this crazy weather we are having.
The support and encouragement from team members.
Friends and family who love me.
Living.

Have a wonderful day, find your blessings.

Hugs,
Wanda

Send the rain and cooler weather this way please! The weather guy said last night that we have had 90+ temps 8 our 12 days so far this month. It's rained only one of those days. Today and the next 2 days are supposed to be back up in the 90's. emoticon emoticon

Monday, Monday....

Monday, July 12, 2010

We had a beautiful day of sunshine and mid range temperatures yesterday. I spent the majority of the day outdoors enjoying the weather. Read a great book while sitting on my deck, did some gardening and then Garry and I went over to see the girls and had a lovely short but sweet visit.

Today...the weather is looking like thunderstorms are brewing, it's muggy out already at 4:30am and looks like it might be a good day to be indoors! Good thing as it's a work day anyway. lol

This weekend is an uncles 85th birthday celebration. We had planned on going, I even had the time booked off work as it's a 10 hour drive to get there. But Garry has to work now this coming weekend and I'm not wanting to drive all that way on my own, spend a day and a half visiting (which would involve late nights) and then drive home again 10 hours and get up the next morning at 4:30 am for work. So the decision has been made to opt out of going...now I just need to let my cousins know. I feel bad about missing this opportunity but I also have to be realistic about it.

My positives:

A beautiful weekend.
Time with Garry and a nice visit with the girls.
A busy week ahead at work...yay...time goes by so much quicker when you are busy. I like my job and I like to be kept busy at it too.
Great co-workers.
Friends and family.
God, who helps me to be the best that I can be each and every day.

Have a wonderful Motivation Monday. Focus on your goals...the big ones and the little ones.

Hugs,
Wanda

July 11 Serenity Sunday

Sunday, July 11, 2010

What a beautiful morning...the sun is shining, the birds are chirping away and it's finely stopped raining!
Once the grass is cut, the trimming done, the garden weeded, there'll be time to sit out on the back deck and enjoy the serenity of just being.

Yesterday, Garry and I picked up Shyra and we headed into the city to check out the much advertised "bulk barn". What a great experience! We spent ages in the store wandering around and ohhh and ahhhh over all the bulk bins filled with so many kinds of items. I was delighted to see the many of the bins had the nutritional values written down on them also. We came home with lots of different bags of spices etc. I love to cook with spices and this was like nothing I have every seen before! What fun we had.
We decided to stop for some lunch at Boston Pizza. I love their Baja salad. I get mine without the chicken in it and it is so tasty. We stopped at one of the malls for Shyra to do some shopping that she needed to do and then home again for a quiet evening of sitting outside.

My positives:
Finding the "bulk barn", we'll definitely be going back there again. Now that I know what they have to offer, I'll be able to make a list for next time.
Beautiful sunshine.
My garden that is growing like crazy...now just got to see more flowers on the tomato and potato plants!
Serenity Sunday and God.

Have a wonderful day, embrace life...it's wonderful when you look for all the positives.

Hugs,
Wanda
