July 10th and all is well!

Saturday, July 10, 2010

I always have a difficult time finding an entry title for my blogs...I feel like an old fashioned bell ringer announcing to the world the news of the day! lol

More thunderstorms rolling in and out again yesterday and last evening. Very crazy weather. Oh well...if we didn't have the weather..what would we talk about???

Garry has today off work, so we are going to head to the city to check out the "Bulk Food Barn" as well as the bakery that had such good bread at the Farmer's Market last Thursday evening.

This morning I have my monthly massage session and will be leaving shortly for that. YAY! I'll get those kinks and stiff muscles all worked out.

My Positives:
Waking up this morning...really love that positive.
Massage on my agenda today.
Spending time with Garry.
Watching my garden flourish. My potato plants are beginning to produce some flowers now...woo hoo...just got to get those tomato plants to the same stage. My peppers have some flowers on them also.
Living a very blessed life.

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday. Keep a smile on your face...it makes people wonder what you are up to.

Hugs,
Wanda

Yay...Friday!

Friday, July 09, 2010

It's Fabulous Friday once again. The end of another great work week and the beginning of a lovely weekend.

Garry arrived home safe and sound yesterday. He had a wonderful time on his fishing trip. Our son is doing well and is extremely busy guiding.
Garry phoned me at work to let me know he'd got home okay and then came to see me on my lunch break. It was nice to sit outside in the sunshine and catch up with each other.

We headed to the Farmer's Market last evening. I bought some reeeeaaaaly good Spelt bread. It's a homemade bread. The person actually grinds his own grain...it's pricey...so only a treat...but oh boy is it good. I'm not much of a bread person, but this is so healthy that it's a nice treat.

We had a very hot day yesterday and this weekend is supposed to be more of the same. My garden is loving it. It seems like every day that I go and check the garden the plants have grown even higher...yay!

My Positives:
My hubby is home safe and sound.
News on how well Q is doing.
Great bread from the Farmer's Market.
Lots of fresh veggies.
Despite the heat...I had a really good sleep last night.
It's Friday...need I say more!
Weekend to look forward to.
Life.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, happy to hear that Garry got home safely. I love farmer's markets...and this year am enjoying having a 1/2 share in a local CSA...When I get back from PA I have string beans and sugar snap peas to cook! Oh, and patty pan squash...used some for an omelet this morning with fingerling potatoes. Yum.

Enjoy your veggies! Nothing like 'em fresh from the garden...I got basil in the CSA this week and it is so fragrant that my kitchen smells magnificent!!

Hugs!
Mauri

July 8

Thursday, July 08, 2010

We had a marvelous day yesterday weatherwise. The morning started out on the cool side, but by afternoon we had hit the mid 20's. I think we just might be the only province in all of Canada that has not been dealing with heat waves. Listening to the news last night, it seems that both sides of the country as well as the states are in an oven!
It is predicted that we should see some of those same temperatures by this weekend though. Thank goodness for basements! We don't have AC, so spending time in the basement is our solution to being somewhere cooler!

Talked to Garry for a couple of minutes last night. He's now back in cell phone service area and should be home, he thought, sometime today. YAY! Says he had a great time and will fill me in when he gets home.

Dental appointment right after work, that should be the last of them at least until the next cleaning is due in 6 months.

My positives:

My garden...I never thought I'd get excited about gardening outdoors, but I'm really enjoying watching my little seeds become lovely healthy plants!
Hair cut yesterday...yay...I chose not to do a color streak this time, just because I've been spending so much time outdoors and the sun bleaches out the color anyway.
Garry will be home today.
Night guard is becoming easier to wear at night...almost don't notice it anymore!
Caught up at work and my desk is visible!
Almost the weekend...lol
Great sleep last night.
Blessed with another day of life.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, have and awesome Thursday.

Hugs,
Wanda

July 7...half way through the week

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Half way through the first week back at work...hump day as it's called.

Not too bad a day weather wise yesterday...the warm weather is still being illusive, but supposedly we just have to get through today and then we'll find that warm and sunny weather! YAY. I'm missing sitting out on my back deck. I made an attempt yesterday after work, but it started raining (again) so had to head back indoors. I'm not complaining about the rain...the earth really needs some moisture...at least around where I live. Not so much in other areas...they
have been perhaps getting too much...or least, too much all at once.

I still have things to put back underneath in the crawl space...it's still all sitting out and now that I've made decisions about what stays and what goes...I need to get the "stays" things back into storage. It's nice to have that big project off my back. Now it will be on to the next item on my list of to do's. Yay for lists...they help to keep me organized.

My positives:
My journey to health.
Accomplishing things on my to do list and seeing them checked off.
Rain...yes, I did say rain.
My family, friends and the support and encouragement they give me.

So many blessings, I am truly a blessed person.

Have an awesome day, keep on moving forward.

Hugs,
Wanda

Hey Wanda, yes I have a brief period of my net working right, but I know it won't last so am zipping around trying to do as much as I can. We'll take some of that cooler air again, thank you very much, lol, it's another hot one here today in the 90's. I am so thankful for our AC, the humidity is really up there too, ugh! Sunday is my GD's bridal shower in Kalamazoo, it's being held at The Henderson Castle, two of my other DD's are going with me, should be a very nice time, I have a new outfit and sandles. Doesn't it make you feel so good when you get a project done and can cross it off your list, WTG! Have a great Wednesday.

Hugs,
Shirl

If the only thing I ever truly accomplish in my life is to know that I blessed in so many ways, I believe my life will have been worth it.

Thank you, as always Wanda, for sharing part of your joy with us. We are blessed

Love

John

July 6

Tuesday, July 06, 2010

Weather forecast says we have one more day of overcast, wind and rain and then we should be actually getting some summer weather! Woo Hoo, it's supposed to get up to 30 by the weekend.

My garden is loving all this rain though. I am amazed at how big my plants are getting and so quickly. They seem to much prefer the rain as opposed to the water hose.

Not too bad a day at work yesterday. Put my nose to the grind stone and managed to clear a lot of stuff off my desk. Lots yet to do, but I'm okay with that. I would rather be busy than not.

My positives:
Garry should be home either today or tomorrow. Yay...someone else in the house besides the cat! lol
Sunshine is on it's way.
Haircut tomorrow also. I can get rid of the shaggy dog look.
Some great new books to read.
A good sleep last night. That is one of the great things about cooler weather...it's much easier to sleep.
I woke up this morning...a new day lies before me to be all that I can be.

Have a wonderful day, thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs,
Wanda
