July 8

Thursday, July 08, 2010

We had a marvelous day yesterday weatherwise. The morning started out on the cool side, but by afternoon we had hit the mid 20's. I think we just might be the only province in all of Canada that has not been dealing with heat waves. Listening to the news last night, it seems that both sides of the country as well as the states are in an oven!
It is predicted that we should see some of those same temperatures by this weekend though. Thank goodness for basements! We don't have AC, so spending time in the basement is our solution to being somewhere cooler!

Talked to Garry for a couple of minutes last night. He's now back in cell phone service area and should be home, he thought, sometime today. YAY! Says he had a great time and will fill me in when he gets home.

Dental appointment right after work, that should be the last of them at least until the next cleaning is due in 6 months.

My positives:

My garden...I never thought I'd get excited about gardening outdoors, but I'm really enjoying watching my little seeds become lovely healthy plants!
Hair cut yesterday...yay...I chose not to do a color streak this time, just because I've been spending so much time outdoors and the sun bleaches out the color anyway.
Garry will be home today.
Night guard is becoming easier to wear at night...almost don't notice it anymore!
Caught up at work and my desk is visible!
Almost the weekend...lol
Great sleep last night.
Blessed with another day of life.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, have and awesome Thursday.

Hugs,
Wanda

July 7...half way through the week

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Half way through the first week back at work...hump day as it's called.

Not too bad a day weather wise yesterday...the warm weather is still being illusive, but supposedly we just have to get through today and then we'll find that warm and sunny weather! YAY. I'm missing sitting out on my back deck. I made an attempt yesterday after work, but it started raining (again) so had to head back indoors. I'm not complaining about the rain...the earth really needs some moisture...at least around where I live. Not so much in other areas...they
have been perhaps getting too much...or least, too much all at once.

I still have things to put back underneath in the crawl space...it's still all sitting out and now that I've made decisions about what stays and what goes...I need to get the "stays" things back into storage. It's nice to have that big project off my back. Now it will be on to the next item on my list of to do's. Yay for lists...they help to keep me organized.

My positives:
My journey to health.
Accomplishing things on my to do list and seeing them checked off.
Rain...yes, I did say rain.
My family, friends and the support and encouragement they give me.

So many blessings, I am truly a blessed person.

Have an awesome day, keep on moving forward.

Hugs,
Wanda

Hey Wanda, yes I have a brief period of my net working right, but I know it won't last so am zipping around trying to do as much as I can. We'll take some of that cooler air again, thank you very much, lol, it's another hot one here today in the 90's. I am so thankful for our AC, the humidity is really up there too, ugh! Sunday is my GD's bridal shower in Kalamazoo, it's being held at The Henderson Castle, two of my other DD's are going with me, should be a very nice time, I have a new outfit and sandles. Doesn't it make you feel so good when you get a project done and can cross it off your list, WTG! Have a great Wednesday.

Hugs,
Shirl

If the only thing I ever truly accomplish in my life is to know that I blessed in so many ways, I believe my life will have been worth it.

Thank you, as always Wanda, for sharing part of your joy with us. We are blessed

Love

July 6

Tuesday, July 06, 2010

Weather forecast says we have one more day of overcast, wind and rain and then we should be actually getting some summer weather! Woo Hoo, it's supposed to get up to 30 by the weekend.

My garden is loving all this rain though. I am amazed at how big my plants are getting and so quickly. They seem to much prefer the rain as opposed to the water hose.

Not too bad a day at work yesterday. Put my nose to the grind stone and managed to clear a lot of stuff off my desk. Lots yet to do, but I'm okay with that. I would rather be busy than not.

My positives:
Garry should be home either today or tomorrow. Yay...someone else in the house besides the cat! lol
Sunshine is on it's way.
Haircut tomorrow also. I can get rid of the shaggy dog look.
Some great new books to read.
A good sleep last night. That is one of the great things about cooler weather...it's much easier to sleep.
I woke up this morning...a new day lies before me to be all that I can be.

Have a wonderful day, thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs,
Wanda

Heigh ho, Heigh ho, it's off to work I go!

Monday, July 05, 2010

Holidays are over and it's back to work today. Part of me is going "oh no!", and the other part is going "Yay, structure!"

I'm sure that my desk is piled high, but oh well, that's life and I will get through it one paper at a time. I've greatly enjoyed this time off and although I didn't go anywhere or do anything exciting...I did have the opportunity to relax and recharge.

Garry is still away on his fishing trip and will be home either tomorrow or Wednesday depending on how the fishing goes. I'm looking forward to having someone else in the house with me. Someone to chat with in the evenings. The cat is not the same. lol

My Positives:
A week to just relax and get some of the monkeys off my back that I've had.
Due to what I've found out about the lack of secondary market for my dolls, I just might end up putting them back under the crawl space for awhile longer. But that's okay, as I made great progress in cleaning out stuff from there. YAY!
We had a bit of hail going on last night, but appears to be no major damage done to my lovely little garden. We've sure been getting the rain, the nice thing is that it isn't an all day thing. Just rains, clears up, then rains again.
My brother was in town yesterday and I was able to join him at the truck stop for a quick visit.
The count down is on now at work...we move to our new building in less than 3 months. We are going to be going flat out now! An exciting time, but lots of stressed out people...will have to watch that I don't become one of them.

Have an awesome day. Now that the holiday weekend is over, it's time to take stock, regroup and continue on towards your goals.

Hugs,
Wanda

Happy July 4th !

Sunday, July 04, 2010

Happy July 4th to all my American friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day filled with lots of great memories.

My holidays are winding down and it's back to work again tomorrow. The cat woke me up at 4:30 this morning, I'm guessing that she too is wanting to remind me that we are back on schedule as of tomorrow! lol
My last sleep in day and I was up at 4:30 am ...siggghhhh! The plus side...I'll be heading to bed early tonight and most likely right to sleep so that my body will be more than ready to get up at 4:30 am tomorrow for work!

We had a great thunderstorm roll through last night, lots of wind and rain. Thankfully nothing like the province of Saskatchewan has been experiencing the past couple of days...massive flooding and tornadoes. It's getting so you don't want to turn the news on anymore...there is always a disaster somewhere! Wouldn't it be nice to turn the news on and hear only positive and uplifting things instead of the negative that is always spouting out. Watching the news used to be something that I enjoyed watching, now I've limited my news watching to maybe a couple of evenings a week and usually only to catch the highlights. Summer time sure makes it even easier to miss watching the news altogether...sitting out on the deck or doing things outdoors, the daylight being longer, helps one to forget the time and the tv.

My positives:
Great day yesterday with Shyra. We managed to spend a good chunk of the day wandering around stores, window shopping and then actual shopping...she needed a new phone. ( I needed more reading material!)
Phone call from my brother last evening.
Reading a great book, filled with lots of food for thought: Twelve by Twelve: a one-room cabin off the grid & beyond the American dream by William Powers.
Very interesting concept and makes you think about life in general.
Looks like it's going to be a sunny, warm day out again today...great way to spend the last day of ones holiday...outdoors.

Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday and remember to celebrate safely.

Hugs,
Wanda
