June 29

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

I had a very productive day yesterday. Made a great start on the crawl space. So far, I've only hauled out all of Q's things and organized that for him. That took me all morning to do. I didn't know he had so much stuff!
Today, I hope to actually get to our stuff and get it hauled out and sorted through.

Garry leaves today on his week's fishing excursion with his buddies. They are going up to where Q works. Father and son will have some time together...doing something they both love to do.
I get to spend the remainder of my time off...with just me! Woo hoo...me time 100% lol

I am meeting Shy for lunch today. She is still working, but I'll meet her on her lunch hour. Thursday is Canada Day, so not sure if the girls and I will get together and take in any of the celebrations or not. Maybe the fireworks, depends on how hot it is outside.

My positives:
progress on getting the crawl space cleaned up and organized.
garden is coming along great. Tomato plants are growing, hopefully they will begin to flower soon.
Found a great book website yesterday also.
Me time.
Lunch with Shy today. (might even persuade her Dad to come along)
Life...we are so blessed.

Have an awesome day,

Hugs,
Wanda

A busy weekend, but lots of fun.

Monday, June 28, 2010

It's good to have the weekend over and all the busy activities. It was a great weekend though and I'm glad we got to see the people we saw and do the things we did.
Visiting with my brother and SIL, our granddaughter, her parents, Shyra and her friend, going to Red Deer to see family there...all were great!

I'm on holidays from work this week, but that doesn't mean doing nothing at home.
My agenda today is to make a start on hauling all the stuff out from the crawl space, sorting it into "keep, donate, get rid of " piles and then tend to each of those piles. Some of the things I will have to take pictures of and post on kijiji to see if I can sell them that way, other things will just be donated.
I've already made a great start on getting some deep cleaning done in the house. Bathrooms are all scoured and sparkling, floors are all washed (I never feel they are really clean until I get down on my hands and knees and clean them - the damp mopping only cleans the surface in my mind!). Now it's cleaning closets out, cleaning the crawl space, finally removing everything out of the computer room so we can put the new flooring in...oh so many tasks ahead. There is even some painting that needs to be done before fall. Yep a busy time ahead in our house.

My positives:
Time to tackle things I want to get done at home.
A lovely surprise visit with granddaughter.
Seeing family in Red Deer.
I get to sleep in past 4:30 am each morning this week...woo hoo!
Seeing my brother and SIL .
Knowing hope blessed this family is in so many ways.

Have a wonderful day, take the time today to recognize all the blessings that you have.

Hugs,
Wanda

It's Fabulous Friday and what a beginning!

Friday, June 25, 2010

Yay, it's fabulous Friday and what an awesome start to my day.
Last evening we got a phone call to say that our Granddaughter and her parents are in Edmonton and have come for a surprise visit! WOO HOO!
We are going to have to do some juggling around of our time, as this was a busy weekend for us in the first place...but we'll make it work.

My brother and SIL are coming to town tonight and staying on Saturday, and then Sunday we are heading to Red Deer as Garry's brother is going to be there from BC. We haven't seen Lyle for about 5 years so don't want to miss out on that. We'll try and see if Laney, Doug and Shavon want to come out to our place Saturday afternoon and spend the evening. Shavon wants to see her auntie Shy, so Shy has already said she'll make herself available. Unfortunately, Kaeli is away this weekend camping with friends. At least she was able to get together with them in May.
We are in for an exciting weekend....so many family members and a lot of fun.

My positives:
Getting to see our Granddaughter this weekend.
Holidays next week for me.
Another gorgeous day with the weather.
Summer has finally arrived, we now have warmer temperatures.
I'll have another long day at work today, but the bonus is that I have next week off.
My night guard is becoming easier to wear, and I'm loving waking up in the morning with a relaxed jaw!
Life, it's just plain wonderful, and when you are willing to roll with the punches, it's filled with excitement.

Have a wonderfully blessed day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Thursday, June 24, 2010

We had a lovely thunderstorm roll through here last night. Made things nice for sleeping by cooling off the air. My garden appreciated the rain . Still clouded over this morning, not sure if more rain is coming today or not.

Safety meeting this morning at work. Our committee needs to start working on procedures for our new facility so that we have something in place when we open. I'm working on arranging a fire drill for our present location. We like to not only have practices for staff only, but also ones that involve actually evacuating the patrons. My director wants a surprise one for Monday. I'm still waiting to hear back from the fire marshall on an okay.

My Positives:
Rain.
A great sleep...second night with the night guard in place...much easier to fall asleep last night.
The benefits of waking up in the morning with a relaxed jaw as opposed to tense muscles from clenching my jaw while sleeping are fantastic!
Pay day yesterday! Yay...grocery shopping coming up! lol
Just being alive...what an opportunity to becoming all that I desire to become.

Have a fantastic day, keep on moving forward...even the baby steps count.

Hugs,
Wanda

Night guard...hmmmmm!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Half way through the work week already...time seems to once again be flying by.

Yesterday I had a dental appointment after work. My new night guard was ready for me to pick up and learn all the ins and outs about. Last night I tried it for the first time. As I put it in, I was thinking , oh boy...I'm supposed to sleep with this in my mouth all night! Not that it was uncomfortable, but it was something that was going to take a bit of getting used to. Sort of like starting a new lifestyle...not that it's uncomfortable...just different and requires some getting used to.
The funniest part was having Garry ask me something just after I put it in, and cracking the both of us up when I responded sounding very much like "Daffy Duck". Yep...this is going to be interesting.
As I lay there attempting to go to sleep, I'm thinking...wow, my tongue no longer fits in my mouth, why am I salivating so much, I'm going to drown by morning, this is really tight, and a million other thoughts that seemed to center around my mouth. I figured if it got really crazy, I would just remove it and then sleep through the night...sort of defeats the purpose of the night guard though don't you think Wanda?
Next thing I knew, it was morning and time to get up....hey! I slept through my first night with the night guard! Wow...look at that...I survived and the best part...the muscles in my face and around my jaw joints are relaxed! Now this was worth waking up to. Yep...I'll give it another go tonight...perhaps with continued practice and use, this will become my new way of life.

Just like changing your lifestyle to a healthier one....it takes a bit of adjusting and lots of persistance to achieve the end results you are looking for.

My Positives:
Spending my first night with a night guard in my mouth and surviving!
Seeing the comparisons between adjusting to a new lifestyle and adjusting to anything new in my life...it takes a willingness to make those changes and adjust.
Waking up this morning with a relaxed jaw. It's amazing how much clenching your teeth at night can cause you to start your day off feeling tense.
I'm driving a truck this morning...Garry has sold my Trail Blazer. Another new experience to get used to!
I'm learning to "go with the flow" in so many more areas of my life.
Family, friends and God...such a huge part of my life.

Have an awesome day everyone. Don't sweat the small stuff!

Hugs,
Wanda
