The end of a month and a successful one with my exercising. I start April off with a 60 day streak of free stepping! Woo Hoo.

Had a short visit with Kaeli last evening, always a treat. She discovered that "Mump and Smoot" are coming back to Edmonton in May and was wanting to know if her Dad and I would like to attend with her and her sister. You Bet!
We so enjoyed the last show we attended. They are a very strange act, rather macabre, but exceptionally funny. We phoned to see if other friends wanted to attend also. Looks like we will have a fairly large group that will be going.

"Lost" was on last night. I'm enjoying the show as we are finally getting some answers to the many "huh's" that have occurred. But I must say, I will be glad when it is over. I'm not much of a TV watcher, but got hooked on this one and now I want answers! lol.

My Positives:

Garry and I are going out to a company dinner this evening. The company dinner is always held at the same restaurant that has a very limited "healthy" menu. At least they serve salads, which is what I will have as they have very little in the way of vegetarian food either. Plus side...I won't have a difficult time choosing what to eat and I won't be tempted by heavy calorie ladened items!
The weather is fantastic...we are a good month ahead of the seasonal weather...our snow is almost all gone! Time to start my outdoor walking on a daily basis.
A blessed life.

Have a wonderful day, keep looking for and finding your blessings. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I appreciate all the comments and support.

Hugs,
Wanda

Strange mix of weather yesterday, especially for this time of year. Clouds rolled in, thunder rolled by...but alas no rain! We could use a good rain to wash the dust and grim of winter away. It's very early for us to have almost all of our snow gone. I'm thinking it going to be a very dry summer. Forest fires will be a big concern due to the lack of moisture in the ground.

Not much to report from yesterday. The day was there, but nothing major occured. It was just one of those average days. lol

My positives:
Meditation time.
Won a free play on my lotto ticket...look out big one, here I come! lol
Time for reading.
A great sleep last night.
Positive Bloggers ...love starting my day with positive reinforcement.
God.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I appreciate your support and encouragement.
Have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

That's interesting about being a dry year, my SIL was way up north on a fishing trip a little while ago and he commented on the fact that they had to ride their snowmobiles on the sand to get to the ice on the lake, now that is real unusla for up there, as the north did not get as much snow as they usually do and the weatherman has said the north will be having high fire alerts really early this year, so it may just be a dry year for some areas. Enjoy this Tuesday.

    Good Morning Wanda
You are always so encouraging to me, I want to be affirming of you also -- thanks for your list of positives -- I noticed "Meditation" is at the head of the list. That reminds me of its importance and I will be sure to join you in taking some time for it today.

Have a great day -- Love, Kathleen

Beginning of a new week, but the end of a another month!

Monday, March 29, 2010

Wow, we are at the end of another month already. This has been a busy month both at work and at home. That is a good thing as it has forced me to stay committed to a routine and to be motivated.

Garry and I spent a couple of hours wandering around the Home and Garden show yesterday. We were both a bit disappointed in the show, the cost to go was definitely not worth the price, but on the other hand, we got a couple of hours of exercise in and that was worth it. It was well attended judging by the crowd that was there. I would like to have seen a bit more in the way of "garden" displays, but then we have pretty much made decisions on any of the house renos left to do, so the flooring/window/door displays did not really hold a lot of interest for us. We'll just have to head out to some of the local greenhouses and see what ideas we can come up with for the yard.

Garry is hoping to build me a couple of raised garden beds this year. This way I'll be able to plant a bit more in the way of some fresh veggies.

My positives:

Income taxes are done for Garry and I and filed...YAY! I'll do Shy's after work today.
A great weekend filled with lots of walking. Despite all the walking, I still got in my daily Wii free step time! Woo hoo!
I'm slowly making progress on cleaning out my computer/craft room in preparation for the new flooring to go in.
I've registered for a couple of workshops that sound interesting. I love learning first hand about things, rather than just reading about them and wondering. The first workshop is on April 7 and the next one on April 18. I enjoy learning about ideas that challenge ones own beliefs and makes a person think.
It's a great day to be alive and I'm going to enjoy it.

Have a wonderful day, keep on moving forward towards your goals. As long as you are putting one foot in front of the other, you are doing something positive.

Hugs,
Wanda

... hope there's some tomatoes planned for your garden! I'm so glad you're getting some raised beds - not that you can't do almost everything in containers but some vegs do so much better in ground. Indeterminate tomatoes versus determinates (which are good in containers) ... we've put a plastic cover over the raised bed we built at the community greenhouse and plan to plant some early and late crops (it extends the season by a month or more on either side).

You are such an inspiration with sticking to that exercise, good job. Sorry the show didn't wasn't exactly what you thought it might be, but you did get to spend time with your man and get in a lot of walking. I am hopeing the internet problem got taken care of, sometimes I could connect today and then sometimes I couldn't, boy, I don't like it one bit when I can't connect. Soon we will be into another month, where did March go? Woo hoo, for the taxes being done, you can check that off your list and breathe a sigh of relife. Have a good evening.

Shirl

Let me see which of the myriad procrastination tasks should I attempt. Maybe I'll do a couple. Thanks for the positive reinforcement. I look forward to "seeing you around."

Sounds like you have the green thumb. My mother has it. My grandparents definitely had it. I need to learn more as I don't do well with the gardens and beds. Something to do with the 100+degree weather in the summer and me not taking the time to learn.

I have tried a couple of years planting flowers only to have them die mid summer. Always makes me sad killing those little things so I don't any more.

Someday when I have more time, I would love to develop that as a beautiful garden, fresh herbs are so great.

Have fun!

You got in a couple of hours of walking yesterday, but you also got to spend it with Garry. So even though the show was a bust, I'd say you received TWO nice benefits. Enjoy your Monday!

I loved your comment at the end. As long as you are putting one foot in front of the other you are doing something positive. I am struggling right now to get my eating under control. I am not happy about that. I have all the tools but just can't seem to use them. This frustrates me. I have been much more active. I guess this is my one foot forward since it is positive behavior. Now time for the next step - control what I put in my mounth. Thanks for making me see any small step is a positive step!

Serenity Sunday March 28

Sunday, March 28, 2010

What a great day yesterday, busy and burning calories...today somewhat the same, but still doing things we enjoy.

Yesterday, it ended up being only Shy and I that braved the West Edmonton Mall on a Saturday. That place is like at zoo on weekends, but we had a great time. We spent from 10:30 to 1:30 wandering around, in and out of stores, weaving our way through crowds and generally having a great time together. Shy managed to find herself some clothing items that she was looking for and great bargains to boot! We stopped at Boston Pizza for a Baja salad before heading back home again.
Garry was waiting for me when I got home, out the door we headed again to Canadian Tire and a couple of shoes stores for Garry. Back home again and Garry headed back to work as he got a call that a client wanted to meet with him. Okay...time to get the laundry finished. I was debating leaving the Wii exercising as I had already done a great amount of walking...but the thought of breaking the 56 day streak was too much lol. Off I went to put in an hour of free step. So the debate within in me now has turned to "am I motivated" or "controled" by th Wii Fit??? My answer...does it matter...I'm exercising! lol

My positives:
Garry and I are heading out to the Home and garden Show today (more walking).
It will be nice to get a feeling of spring/summer and all that it entails.
Serenity Sunday, meditation time.
56 day free step streak.
Taxes are done for another year (still have Shy's to do for her, but those are a breeze)
Temperatures are supposed to reach 15 today...YAY! and sunshine to boot.
Life...what an amazing journey.

Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday. Take the time today to nourish your soul.

Hugs,
Wanda

Saturday

Saturday, March 27, 2010

It looks like the sun is going to attempt to shine today and the temperature is on it's way up again. YIPPEE!

Shyra asked me yesterday if I wanted to go shopping with her today. She is in need of some new clothes and I'm happy to go with her.
We are going to head out to the West Edmonton Mall as they have the biggest variety of stores and I'll get lots of walking exercise in. It's funny, most people go to the big mall because of all the different stores, I go...because it's lots of walking and I burning calories! Funny how your priorities change when you decide to change your lifestyle lol.

I spent 4 hours yesterday working on the income taxes and I'm thrilled to say...other than a checking everything over to make sure I have included everything that needs to be included....I"M DONE! (for another year). Now I just need to get some new printer ink so I can print off a copy and send them via netfile. Just Shy's to do and that will be an easy one, which should only take me about 30 minutes to do completely from start to finish. YAY!

My positives:
Income taxes are done.
Shopping with my girls today.
Promises to be a lovely sunny day.
Good book to read this weekend for relaxation.
I've made a start on getting the computer/craft room cleaned out in preparation for the new flooring to go in.
God, who blesses me in so many ways.

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday. Laugh, play and enjoy being alive.

Hugs,
Wanda
