What a difference a day makes!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Yesterday morning, I was still feeling the effects of the previous couple of days. My energy levels were low and it was a struggle to stay on an even keel.
I listened to my inner guidance system and booked an appointment at Namaste with a friend who I knew would provide exactly what I needed. I arrived there at 4pm for one thing and Pam looked at me and said, nope...you need an energy treatment. All this, before she even knew what had been going on. I thank God for persons like Pam, you listen to their guides also. It was exactly what I needed. In fact she took an hour and half to do a Reiki treatment on me. Time well invested. By the time I left there, I felt like my batteries had been changed and I was powering on full charge. What a great feeling. It's the feeling I normally have and I was glad to be back to that state.

If you have never had a Reiki engery treatment, consider it the next time you are feeling low on energy, feeling the need to be re-charged or just feeling out of sorts. It is no longer considered "outside the main stream" or "out there". It is a valid and very useful way of realigning yourself.

My Positives:
God, who continues to guide me and those that provide the path to health.
God's healing energy through Reiki.
For Gabriel and Raphael for their guidance and helping me with clarity.
For having an open heart and mind to receive God's many blessings.
For the Positive Bloggers team and offer so much encouragement and support, Thank you.
The reminder that, I alone, am responsible for how I react and I have the choice to rise above or sink below.
For life.

Thank you all for your support these past couple of days. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a wonderful day, create the day you desire, take the steps necessary to be all you have been created to be.

Hugs,
Wanda

I've just caught up on some of what you've been going through. So sorry to hear you've been experiencing some rough waves. Glad to hear you have been able to come up for some air now. Because we know how to swim, so to speak, we can take a little head dunk but it still takes our breath away and certainly causes us to sputter doesn't it!

Here is to smooth sailing through the rest of the week.

March 24

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Do you ever find that you are sailing along through life, everything appears to be going along great, life is just smooth and on an even keel....then BAM! the waters become choppy, and you are hanging on for dear life?

These past couple of days have been like that for me. Funeral on Monday, gloomy weather with more snow/ice, then yesterday morning a phone call from my husband while at work, to let me know that a friend had died. As most suicides are, this came right out of left field. That was just the boost that my SAD's needed to jump right in and do a number on me.

I'm working hard today to get back on top of my game, to surround myself with the white light of the Holy Spirit and once again gain control of my "ship". I've no intentions on sinking, but boy has it been rough waters.

My Positives:
I have a God that I can turn to for strength.
The knowledge that "this too shall pass".
Despite yesterday's news...I still got my Wii time in, and felt better for it.
Knowing that we need the valleys in our lives to be able to recognize the joy of standing on the top of mountains and seeing the world before us.
Life...it is precious.

Have a wonderful day, hug those in your life and let them know their value to you.

Hugs.

Wanda, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Hugs.

Knowing how difficult it can be to tread those deep waters, a blessing is knowing we have friends who will help bail the water out of our sailboats when we can't...and one of those is the Holy Spirit.

Blessings...and light.

Let me get in the boat with you and lend you a hand. I am proud of you for recognizing that we need that choppy water to gain strength and experience. I am proud of you for not taking the excuse to break your promises to yourself. (I know that you are just afraid of getting yelled at by your Wii trainer, but hey! If that works for you, use it) I am also proud of you because you show up every day ready for work and you're not afraid to work hard. And I love you and your positive spirit. Thank you for sharing this journey.
Love,
Nancy

March 23

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

A very quick blog this morning, for some reason the time is just getting away from me and I need to be heading out the door for work in a few minutes.

Got day 50 under my belt on the Wii yesterday. Woo Hoo milestone! I'm excited at how the free step has become such an important part of my day. No walk outside yesterday as the sidewalks were deadly with their covering of frozen rain and then snow.

My positives:
My 50 day streak of free step on the Wii
According to the Wii, I've eliminated 2.5 pounds...Woo Hoo. All this hard work is finally showing some downward results. I've been seeing the results in my muscle tone and clothing, but this is added bonus.
I'm just happy to be alive.

Have a wonderous day, keep your focus on your goals...you'll get there.

Hugs,
Wanda

It can be challenging to find the time to exercise regularly given a busy schedule. Yet, you are making YOU a priority. Congrats on your 5o day streak!!!

Mother Nature not through yet...

Monday, March 22, 2010

As I crawled into bed last night, I could hear the lovely sound of rain hitting the window. Oh how lovely...things with look nice and fresh tomorrow. Yep, it sure does. (Not!) Things look lovely and white out there! That lovely rain fall turned to snow over night and we are now blanketed with a couple of inches of snow everywhere. The blessing...it won't last long. I'm not even going to worry about shoveling this morning as I'm quite hopeful that by this afternoon it will have melted off the driveway at least.

My plans for yesterday of doing income taxes...delayed again! Garry's friend that was going to go with him to the Sportsman show, cancelled and Garry asked me if I wanted to go. Hmmmm...income taxes vs Sportsman show...guess what won out? It was a great day for exercising, especially after sitting almost the whole day on Saturday at the conferenc. We spent 3 hours walking around the trade show. That place is massive! What a great time we had. Found the booth that our son was manning, stopped and had a visit with him. Chatted with the couple in the next booth to him...they were from Wyoming and run a lodge in Northern Saskatchewan. Turns out it's in the same area that I lived from the time I was 3 until 10. They are good friends with someone that my Dad and Mom knew. What a small world. It was a delightful day and I burned lots of calories. Not only did I burn calories there, I came home and did 60 minutes of the Wii.
(Honestly, that machine controls my life, lol, I'm so worried about it's rude little remarks when you miss a day...that it keeps me motivated to using it.lol)

My Positives:
Snow...moisture for the ground. And I know it won't last long.
Great exercising in yesterday (I know, I still have to do those taxes)
Chatting with some new people.
Today is 50 days on my Free step streak! Woo Hoo...go me!
A new week, a new opportunity to have a great week.
My choices...they are mine to make.
The freedom to be who I am and to create the life I desire.

Have a great day, a great week. Find what motivates you and keep your focus on it.

Hugs,
Wanda

As promised....

Sunday, March 21, 2010

As promised, here is an overview of my day yesterday at the Women's Wellness conference.

Started my day off by walking to the conference. It was about a 10 minutes walk from home. The air was nippy, but what a great way to start off the day.
The day began with a continental breakfast for all, followed by the keynote speaker. J'lyn Nye is a local TV/Radio station personality. A very inspirational and motivational speaker. It was nice to hear her story and how she made the choices to change her lifestyle and become a happier person. She left us with a great challenging question "are you truly happy (inside)with who and where you are in your life?" If you are not, then "now" is the time to begin that change, as we have no guarantee of tomorrow.

Off to my first session, I thought I had chosen Laughing Yoga, but I had chosen Humour as my first choice. I'm glad that I did. What a fabulous hour and half session. Giselle Yannish is a communications consultant and extremely funny. She talked about the need for humour in our lives and how it can affect our bodies healthwise. How humour helps not only at home but in the workplace. We did some exercises that created laughter and fun. A great session and a great way to kick off a long day.
After the first session, it was back to the gym to have lunch. What a wonderful selection that was provided by the culinary class at the school where the even was being held. They did an amazing job of providing for all tastes and over 500 people. There were sponsor displays to check out and gather more information from too. There was door prizes to be given out and at the end of the day the grand prize draw. Nope...I did win anything...but that's okay, I came away a winner from the experiences.
After lunch it was off to session 2 "Relaxation Therapy". Unfortunately not quite what I was hoping for. The presenter concentrated more on what stress is and how it can affect us (more the negative side of things) rather than tips or suggestions on how to relax and de-stress. Some interesting information, but again not what I had hope the session was going to be about.
This lead right into my third session "Energy Bubble". A great session, filled with lots of useful information. Hazel Butterfield was the presenter and operates her own business called Alberta Reiki here in the Park. She works with the person energy field and demonstrated how color can have an effect on our personal energy fields and ways that we can realign our own chakras through meditation and colors.

This brought us to the closing speaker, a young mom who has faced many challenges in her life and how she has chosen to live in the moment.

A wonderful day, with a lovely walk back home to round things off. Yes...I still managed to get 30 minutes of free step in on Wii.

My positives:
The opportunity to attend a conference basically in my own backyard.
Great information and motivational speakers.
Some great questions to contemplate and seek answers to.
A day of relaxation today to just unwind.

Have a wonderful day. Consider the question that I was asked ...Are you truly happy (inside) with who and where you are in life?

Hugs,
Wanda

    Serenely happy. Thank you.
Nice report. Sounds like a positive experience to be sure. It is only 39 degrees here this morning. Must be what they call an "Alberta Clipper". You can keep your Alberta air right up there with you , Missy! The sun has been given a chance to shine some of that cold away, so I'm gonna head out for a walk soon. (brrrrrr!) I'll bundle up.
Enjoy your day. And thanks again for bringing me a little taste of your conference.
Love,
Nancy
