It feels so good....

Thursday, March 11, 2010

It feels so good to be back online. Even though I kept a list of my nutrition and exercise while my computer was in "sick bay", it's not the same as being able to go online and track it. I did go in and fill in all my exercise for the week that I was down, but didn't fill in the missing days for nutrition...this catching up is a lot of work! lol

I can't say enough about what a wonderful team this is. It was great reading through the blogs and posts...you guys are fantastic. I still have some blogs to work my way through, but I'm getting there.

Still doing my Wii free step daily (minimum 60 min), struggling to find a tv program worth watching for the duration, but re-runs of Extreme home makeover do come in handy as a backup! lol

My Positives:
ssshhhhh...I'm whispering, but I think that "spring" is possibly here! Quiet though, I don't want it to disappear!
Garry and I are beginning to adjust to being empty nesters....the house is still very quiet, and learning to cook smaller meals is a challenge...but not competing for the tv remote is great!
Life...it's just plain and simply wonderful.

Have an incredible day, make your choices positive and enjoy the blessings.

Hugs,
Wanda

I totally agree with my other team mates, it's great to have you back, I really like the quote this morning, but John did an excellent job of posting some great quotes in your absence. Hey, tomorrow is your favorite day of the week. Hope you have a pleasant weekend. I can't believe we have to put the clocks ahead this weekend.

I'm baaaaacccccck! YAY!

I'm so grateful for answered prayers and a techie co-worker who fixed my computer for me. When Jodi first looked at my computer, he was sure that it was the motherboard as the power check that he did on my computer showed that the power supply was working. I spent the weekend pricing out computers and letting my angels know that ...it was going to be a bit expensive and I wasn't really prepared to spend a lot of money on a new computer right at the moment. I need a home computer as it's income tax time and all my information is stored on the computer.
When I got to work on Monday, Jodi decided to have a second look, he disconnected my power supply and hooked up one from work...Whoopppeeeee, it was my power supply. As soon as he hooked up a different power supply, my computer booted up! Off to the store I went to purchase a new power supply....big difference $65.00 vs $900.00! It took him a couple of days to get the time to replace things, but today....I'm back! God bless Jodi and thank you for answered prayers.

Thank you to all of you who stepped up to help out with keeping things going. I haven't had a chance yet to read posts or blogs. But I know you will have all done a wonderful job...that's just the kid of people you are. It will probably take me a couple of days to catch up...so I'm off to start now.

My Positives:

Answered prayers.
Co-worker (Jodi) bless his heart for taking the time out of his busy day to help me out.
Nancy, for your phone call to see what was happening.
John, thank you for jumping in and helping out also. I know I sort of dumped things on you with an email, then couldn't even check back.
To the entire team, thank you for all your prayers, support and keeping things going. Shirl...I knew I could count on you and Nancy for sure to cover my end of things.

If I've missed personally thanking anyone, my apologies...I haven't been to the team page yet to check things out...so please consider yourselves Thanked from the bottom of my heart.

Hugs,
Wanda

Computer problems!

Friday, March 05, 2010

My computer at home has decided to take a vacation. It won't even make so much as a whimper when I attempt to turn it on. Brought it to work with me this morning to see if our techie will have a look at it. I'm hoping that it might only be a dead battery. It it's the hard drive...yikes!
I might be shopping for a new computer sooner than planned. You don't realize how much of your life is wrapped up in your computer until you are not able to use it. I pay almost all my bills on line, my banking, etc. SIGGGGHHHH.

Sorry for the hit and miss on the team right now. I have to wait until I get to work to use a computer and then I don't like to use up work time for personal stuff.

If you can all hold the fort for me that would be greatly appreciated.

My positives:

I have access to an alternate computer, although limited....it's still access.
I put in a 10 hour shift yesterday, but I still managed to get 30 minutes of free step in before heading to bed.
I'm on a downward trend according to my Wii! Woo Hoo.
Having a techie that I can bring my computer to for a consult...perhaps even a repair if possible.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit, keep on moving forward...remember take those lemons that life throws at you and make some lemonade...that's what I'm doing.

Hugs,
Wanda

Oh what a big bummer! But your positives show that you still have a great attitude in the face of adversity!

It is amazing how dependent we have gotten on the computer, isn't it?!

Wanda, Sounds like you had a long day yesterday. Great job getting in some free step time before bed. I hope your tech guy is able to help. I live and die on my computer, so I totally understand how you feel. Hope it's fixed soon.

Oh, if it's your hard drive I hope your techie can retrive your information, like my computer hero did for me. Will be thinking about you and praying your computer is fixable. We don't realize how much we use them till they aren't there to use. Good going with getting the steps in, you are awesome and an inspiriation to all of us. Have a good weekend.I can do Mon. & Tues. daily challenge for you, unless somebody else is stepping in to help out, that would be no problem.

March 3

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

March 3rd and still going strong. My body is once again used to doing exercise on a daily basis. It has once again reached that point where my body is keeping me on track. LOL. I'm back at that point where if I even remotely think of skipping "today", my mind and body protest and let me know that is not acceptable. I love it. 32 days straight of exercising a minimum of 60 minutes a day. Woo Hoo...go me!
For me the best thing that I ever invested in is my Wii Fit Plus. It is hard to get out and exercise outdoors in the winter here (okay, so I'm a whimp!) and I find it hard to fit scheduled workout classes into my work day schedule. I love that I can come home and get things done at home as well as fit in my exercising in a time slot that works for me. Besides the cost is small compared to a gym membership.
Now that the weather is warming up and the sidewalks are melting off, I'll be able to get outdoors walking once again.

My Positives:
Met up with Kaeli after she got off work yesterday. She wanted to go to Costco and needed me along (I have the membership). It was fun to go shopping with her and have her pay the bill! lol
Got my exercising in before meeting up with Kaeli, then got to walk around for an hour in Costco...okay...so it was sauntering...but still exercise.
My kitchen will be completed today! We have been waiting for the pedastal for my island to arrive...it's here finally and will be installed today. I'm so excited to finally have all the construction part done. We still have some touch-up painting to do, but that will get done when I can leave windows open.
It's a fabulous day to be alive.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, have a wonderful day...you are in charge!

Hugs,
Wanda

Yes indeed I am in charge, except when it comes to our dogs who decided at 5 AM they wanted to go outside.

We have a Wii Fit. Joan and the girls use it a lot and they enjoy it. I have fooled around with it, but since you wrote about it today I may give it a whirl this afternoon.

Have a blessed Wednesday.

March is off to a good start!

Tuesday, March 02, 2010

One day down and 30 to go!
Garry and I were laughing last evening as we sat down to relax, "now what do we watch on tv" The Olympics are over and how quickly we became used to a routine of watching tv!

I did get my exercising in, 60 minutes of free step, and yes...I watched some tv while doing so. It's a great distraction and makes the time go by much faster. A person can only take so much of the news broadcasting though...wow...what a lot of negative garbage spewing from the broadcasts! Re-runs of extreme home makeover ended up being the choice...at least they are doing something positive.

I have really found myself monitoring what I listen to more and more as I've embraced the law of attraction. Because we attract into our lives those things that we focus our attention on, I've no desire to focus on negative things. Been there done that, didn't like the results. This doesn't mean that I'm burying my head in the sand in regards to what is happening in the world, it just means that I'm not allowing myself to be sucked into the negatives. Instead, my attention is focused on listening to guidance and how I can contribute in a positive way. Is it through prayer, is it through lending a helping hand, is it through finding the positives within the negatives.

Day 2 of March is off to a great start, morning strength exercises are done and I'm ready to face a busy day at work.

My positives:
A co-worker who wants to walk during our breaks...my positive...I'm forced to take my breaks and the benefit...15/20 minutes of exercise. Deanne's positive...exercise also, but the biggest benefit...she is occuping herself with something other than smoking. (she is trying to quit)
I have a body that responds to exercise.
I am eating healthy.
All my first of the month bills are paid.
I'm feeling great!
God, who continues to patiently teach me what He wants me to learn.

Have a fantastic day, thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs,
Wanda

So true on the Olympics. My brother put in his status that he took a nap after it was over because he didn't know what to do with himself! Ha!

I so believe in the law of attraction since I was young. I didn't call it that then. I felt your words and thoughts went out into the universe and brought back what you put out...eventually. It is true (and a little scary sometimes about the speed in which it happens). Overall, I like it and have passed the idea on to my children.

How cool that you will have a walking buddy to keep you accountable in walking and in taking breaks. It will be great as each of you encourage the other toward your goals.

Have a great day!

Lovely positive blog. Not only will those nice breaks with your co-worker help her, but yes, you are getting in extra exercise and you are also giving yourself a mental break and I bet you are much more alert and productive at work because of taking those breaks, so you are in a win-win situation and helping someone to break a bad habit, wow, just look at all those blessings. Have a wonderful day!

Wanda, I am going to keep in mind the "law of attraction" and try not to think of negative things that might happen in the future. I need to fill my mind with more positive input. We loved Canada winning the men's curling gold!!! My DH stayed glued to curling on TV for many hours! We are going through withdrawal too! The winter olympics are special, because people around here get to feeling really negative about winter in general by February, just waiting for spring, and the olympics are something that celebrates the good things about winter. Take care and thank you for your blog. Hugs, Kathleen

I choose to reject the negative and focus on the positive also. That's why I'm here. Reading your positives. Being uplifted. Only the good stuff. Isn't it wonderful how opportunities for positive actions present themselves? What a great gift to have a walking buddy at work! You were open. You did your part. I like how that happens. I am having a bit of Olympic withdrawal, but I look forward to getting over that very soon. Have a great day. Thanks you for the nice list o' positives. My favorite today: "I have a body that responds to exercise." I'm thanking my Creator for that gift as well.
Love you.
