For someone who has never been a big sports fan other than watching my own son growing up and playing sports....these Olympics have really caught my attention on many levels.
I made a committment to myself that if I was going to be watching any tv, I would be exercising while doing it. Woo Hoo...I've been doing great. Especially as I figured out how to do the free step component of my Wii Fit Plus and watch at the same time. It has given me some events to connect with my son over. YAY...snowboarding! The sports themselves have helped me to push on with the exercising when I've felt like stopping....the sport is not done, therefore neither am I! I'm even sleeping more soundly, as I'm exercising more intensely.
I've also noticed an interesting (for me anyway) side effect from the increased exercise...I'm eating less! Perhaps it's because my attention is focused elsewhere, or just perhaps my body is burning the fuel more efficiently and therefore is not hungry. Personally....I don't really care what the reason is...it's a positive result.

My positives:
I'm sleeping more soundly, therefore I'm feeling more rested in the mornings.
I'm enjoying the Olympics as well as seeing a positive result from my own commitment.
It's been awhile since I've looked upon my exercising with some degree of excitement.
I'm toning up once again.
Geff is back to work once again. It's so good to see how well he is doing.
I'm proud of how well all our athletes are doing in their events, some are winning medals and the others are placing very well in their events.
I'm positive that I am going to have a great day.

Wanda, obviously I think this is a great idea!!! Hey, congrats to Canada on its first gold medal on home soil! Running Late this morning!

I'm running late this morning, so a very quick blog to say how much I have been enjoying watching the Olympics on TV. I'm not much of a TV watcher or a sports fan, but I decided to challenge myself while I had extra time off this past weekend. I wanted to get in lots of exercising and because walking is my favorite thing to do and the sidewalks are icy outside, I decided to do free step on my Wii. Now just doing free step gets rather boring, but I discovered that I could do it and watch TV at the same time. Hmmmm, what to watch...well the OLYMPICS! I've managed to get in 3 hours of free step everyday. Yep, that meant watching TV for that long too, but it has been very enjoyable watching the snowboarding, skiing and speed racing and luge events!

Well I must run:

I'm proud of myself for getting so much exercising in this past weekend.
A busy work week ahead of me.
I'm on track.
The support and encouragement that I receive from all of you.

Family Day

It's a holiday Monday here in Alberta, Canada. Family Day is the official name of this holiday. It's a holiday that has been declared by our Provincial Government because there is not a National holiday during the month of February. Works for me!

Seeing as the Olympics are on, yesterday I challenged myself to exercising while watching TV. I set up the Wii and did a total of 3 hours of Free Step while watching the men's luge, men's and women's moguals and ski jumping. Not only did I feel great (but exhausted) after all that free stepping...but Canada got a gold, silver and bronze medal yesterday! Go Canada Go!
Today, because Garry is not home due to having a workshop to attend, and I have the day off work. I am going to challenge myself once again to doing free step while watching TV. I figure this opportunity does not present itself that often. I'm not a big TV watcher, except for while the Olympics is on...so why not make it really worth my time!

My positives:
Great calories burning opportunities.
Have a Wii, that allows me to enjoy exercising.
The opportunity to watch the sports that interest me.
My girls...and the lovely flowers they brought me yesterday.
Seeing the blessings that come my way each and every day. It takes so little effort, just being aware.

So I gather you have a govt holiday every month. How cool is that. We have a long stretch between New Years Day and Memorial Day in May. There are various holidays in between, but not every work place recognizes them; they're more just days where the govt offices and banks close and some schools, but everyone else works just the same. It's Valentines Day! Hope you are all planning an enjoyable time.

Garry has a mandatory workshop through work that he is attending all day today as well as tomorrow. When he gets home this evening, we'll get to spend some time together. In the meantime, the Olympics are on and I will continue to spend my time watching! I enjoy the speed skating events as well as the skiing events.

I've changed up the weekly challenge, so if you haven't checked it out, pop on over and see what's new.

My positives:
My relaxing 4 day weekend.
Olympics to watch on TV.
Had my monthly theraputic massage yesterday morning.
Waking up this morning...always a wonderful thing!
God who continues to mold me and shape me into the person that I've been working towards being.

I didn't get to the mall to do my walking yesterday as originally planned.
I started out my morning by deciding to wash all the bedding and then that lead to doing all the laundry, which also lead to organizing the linen closet, which lead to organizing all the closets, which lead to other cleaning projects, then vaccuming ...well you get the picture!
Garry came home just after noon and said he didn't have to go back in and let's go check out flooring and prices for the rest of the floor that we need to do in the house. We also stopped at the kitchen place to see when the pedestal for under the kitchen island would be here and ready for installation. Woo Hoo, sometime next week. We also made arrangement to have the spice rack removed and that cupboard refitted with shelves only. The spice rack was not working, so we are going to look at using one of the drawers to hold all my spices. I'm looking forward to spring so that we can finish off all the touchup painting in the kitchen. I'll be able to open the windows. (For those who don't know, I'm extremely sensitive to chemical fumes...yes, even the voc paint gets to me!)

Today, I'm just taking the day as it comes. We are supposed to go out to dinner this evening with some friends, I'll know for sure if it's still on sometime this morning.

My Positives:
Laundry is all done
House is nicely cleaned
Closets are looking better
Possible dinner out this evening
A new day to be creative
Great giggles already shared on Silly Saturday post.
Yep...just plain and simple...life!

You just got a great start on your spring cleaning. I should put the linen closet on my to-do list now that you've mentioned it. Mine could use a bit of reorganizing and straightening.
