I had a great sleep last night. It's been awhile since I've managed to get such a good one. Despite still waking up several times during the night, I was able to immediately fall back to sleep again. It was a night filled with odd dreams about people that I haven't seen for years. Not sure what was up with that, but it was interesting none the less. Funny how, I knew who the people were (or at least who they were supposed to be) but they didn't necessarily look like the people should have! Very strange.

We have more snow on it's way this weekend. In fact the prediction is for heavy snow falls. Oh Boy! more shoveling (she says with tongue in cheek!).

Garry's birthday coming up on Thursday. Must get a decision from Garry as to what he wants for his birthday supper.

My Positives:
A great night's sleep.
Morning exercises all done, only the Wii to do when I get home from work.
Lots to keep me busy at work.
I get my hair cut tomorrow after work...YAY!
Friends who offer such encouragement to me. Thank you for your support through your comments on my posts and blogs.
The daily blessings that occur in my life.

Have a wonderful day today,

Hugs,
Wanda

Glad to hear that you got a good nights sleep. I guess it's something I take for granted. Sleep is so important to our health and weight and preventing various chronic conditions. Get all the rest that you can!!

Have a great day!

Redoubling my efforts!

It's Marvelous Motivation Monday!

What a disappointment to step on the scales this morning and they haven't moved! I will continue to perservere though, as I can tell that the increase in my exercising is making a difference in the way I feel and in how my clothes are fitting. I know that I'm eating healthier and more mindful...so eventually that scale is going to catch up with my efforts! My Wii Fit flacuates, one day I'm up the next day I'm down...I'm contributing that to the time of day and water weight. Am I discouraged, somewhat, but at the same time, I know I am doing what is necessary to live healthy. I will continue to plug away at things and give myself pats on the back at the end of each day for a day lived to the best of my ability.

My positives:
I own a Wii Fit, which enables me to exercise at home, and in a fun and enjoyable manner.
I have the ability to move my body easily.
I have wonderful health.
I have a positive attitude.
I am determined to live and be healthy.
And lastly, but not leastly, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Have an awesome Motivation Monday!

Hugs,
Wanda

I liked that 'good things come to those that wait' ... I'm not losing to the extent I'd planned on either! hmpf no choice but to persist - plus I have to admit i'm enjoying the extra energy and taste of good food :)

Be patient, give your body time to adjust, you are doing all the right things and in time you will see results on the scale too.

Just keeping at it! If you're feeling better and your clothes are fitting better, then you are healthier, no matter what the scale says!

Hang in there... you know that it's going to show up on the scale. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. Keep doing what you know is right. Your body is benefitting. Have a wonderful Monday.

Wanda, yes it will all catch up with your healthy lifestyle! Your body is probably adjusting to all the exercise...and remember muscle weighs more than fat so if you are building muscle, there will be an increase at the beginning...then VOILA! that number will diminish.

Happy Motivation Monday!

Great attitude! I have had the same experience with the scale--like someone poured glue in it or something. It's moving now! Persevere. emoticon

Love my kids!

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Woke up this morning at my usual time 5am, but dozed until 8am. I find if I don't get out of bed by then, I don't get to sleep as early as I should for work Monday mornings. It was nice to lie in bed, but I'm one of those people who once awake, I'm awake! Lying in bed just gives me a headache! My body and brain are raring to go and they don't like being idle! lol

The girls stopped over yesterday afternoon to show off their purchases. They had invited me to go to IKEA with them, but I was being lazy and chose not to go. They found a couple of great lamps for their place as well as a lovely plant. They even did some shopping where they had some gift cards and picked up a couple of sweaters for themselves. It was nice to have them stop in and share what they purchased. They stayed and enjoyed some dinner with us before heading home to their planned evening activities.

Q and his girlfriend stopped in and then headed back out also. Like Q's girlfriend, she is a lovely girl...very personable.

Today will be a day of just being and appreciating the life. Enjoy your day too.

My positives:

My family and life!

Have an awesome Serenity Sunday,
Hugs,
Wanda

Winter is not over yet!

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Started off yesterday morning with minus 5 and "RAIN"! I had to use the windshield wipers all the way to work in the morning. By the time I left work at 10am, it had become freezing rain. The roads were absolutely treacherous. I was still in disbelief that we were having rain and it was below zero! During the night as the temperatures dropped even lower we started getting the snow. Woke up this moring with the job of shoveling ahead of me. What a strange winter we have been having! Oh well, I'll burn some extra calories outdoors today.

Enjoyed my partial day off yesterday. Got my laundry all done, which has freed up a portion of my Saturday. Grabbed a good book and started reading it. My plans for going into the city were cancelled as the roads were not safe.
Garry and I went to Costco and looked around, picked up a couple of things and then came home. A very quiet and enjoyable day.

I did get 71 minutes in on the Wii though. I did a session in the morning and then another one later in the day. I'm sure enjoying the opportunity to have a place that I can leave it all set up and just go and use it as the time permits.
Highly recommend the Wii Fit to anyone that is able to get one. So much more fun doing exercises and getting fit.

My positives:
Burning calories in enjoyable ways.
Get to burn more calories today with shoveling snow.
I'm registered for the Women's conference coming up in March. I've been told that I will have my 1ST choices unless otherwise notified. YAY.
My choices "Humour...for the Health of it", "Relaxation Therapy" and "Energy Bubble". It was difficult deciding which three I wanted to attend as my second choices were just as good. My 2nd choices were "Reflexology from around the World", "Spiritual Channeling"(this one I've attended before and was great), and "Laughter Yoga". Regardless of which ones I end up attending, I will enjoy them. Each session is an hour long. Breakfast and lunch is included also, so you can't go wrong with the price of $45.00 for the day. The great thing is, all of these choices are regular classes that are offered in the community through out the year. Might just find one that I want to join!

Have a great fun filled Silly Saturday filled with blessings.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, please send that weather north of you...not southeast! :)

Those workshops sound wonderful! What a great opportunity...wish we had something like that...tho' I did join ShapeUp RI again and am hoping they offer some types of workshops that might be fun and educational for my journey!

Wishing you a Sunday filled with serenity!

Furthering your personal education. . . nice healthy choice! Sorry that your weather is not quite cooperating. (Lessons in flexibility and patience!) At least your toy is providing you with some good endorphins! Enjoy your healthy Saturday and keep up the good work, my shining example of positive, healthy living!

the conference sounds like a lot of fun - laughing yoga sounds insanely fun (I've heard you just go in and laugh and laugh and laugh ... I've tried it myself a few times when things are so dire ... ie, when I was alone after getting that $450 parking ticket when I didn't see the no parking sign facing away at a 45 degree angle hidden under tree leaves - I said to myself, "I just got a $450 ticket!" hahahahahahahahaahh I think that's how you are supposed to do it ... I saw a show on it once)! There it can stay a 2nd choice because you know how to do it now.

This has been kind of a weird winter with some of the weather places have been having, watching the news last night and couldn't believe the snow in AZ and they were suppose to get more and then it showed Canada and talked about they could use more snow for the upcoming Winter Olympics, crazy. That retreat sounds like so much fun, what a great way to spend a day, be sure and give us a good report on the retreat. Glad you had a safe trip home from work. Enjoy your weekend.

A wonderful day...

Friday, January 22, 2010

We had a wonderful time celebrating Kaeli's birthday last evening.
Quin's girlfriend joined us and we headed out to Kelsey's for dinner. Much to Garry's delight, Kelsey's was celebrating their 30th anniversary and it was "Free Wings Night". Every person at the table got a pound (about 8) chicken wings. As I don't eat them, it meant extra for everyone else. Not a bad deal to start the evening off. Because I had monitored my calories so carefully during the day in preparation for the evening's dinner out, I had a fantastic bowl of Broccoli Cheddar soup and a large salad and had room to splurge of a bit of blueberry cheesecake mousse. Such a yummy dinner. We had lots of laughs and a great family time. Q's girlfriend fits right into the family...hmmmmm, who knows!

Who knows, maybe next week we will be back to Kelsey's to celebrate Garry's birthday! Once his birthday is done, we are off the hook for a couple of weeks until Feb 23 when things will start up again!

My positives:
A wonderful family night together.
How great Q's girlfriend fits into the family...an important must for our family.
I get off work early today...in fact I only have to go in for about 4 hours and should be home at around 10 am. A whole free day!
Garry has today off also...yay some time together.
Geff stopped by at work yesterday, he is looking really good. He is anxious to be able to come back to work, but knows he probably won't be able to yet for awhile. He is still very thin, but his color is much better.
I've found a new extra exercise routine that I'm really enjoying ...Wii Fit Plus!

Have a fantastic Fabulous Friday...fill your time with smiles, laughs and joy. The alternative is just no fun!

Hugs,
Wanda

It is so nice to be able to have your family able to "convene" for the birthday celebrations. A real blessing. Hope that you have had fun with Garry this afternoon and have a wonderful weekend. (I know that you will take the "actions" necessary to make it so. Thanks for the support!)

I'm supposed to have a 4 hr day but got caught up here at the office...so looking more like 6 hours...but then 4 days off...although Tuesday is my colonoscopy...and since I teach people to get them, does it really count as a day off? Hehehehe...

Enjoy your time with Garry!
