It's Kaeli's Birthday today!

Thursday, January 21, 2010

It's my first born's birthday today. What a special day it is. Despite that 34 years have now passed, I can still remember every detail of her birth. What an awesome experience. She started out life as a tremendous gift and joy and remains that way today. So proud of the young woman that she has become. She has had some very hard knocks in life, but has risen above them and not allowed them to make her less that what she has been created to be. Through the years, I have learned so much from her. Her strength and determination have been a shining example to me. She stands by her convictions. She is someone that you can trust and rely upon. She is my daughter and my friend. Thank you Lord for blesses us with this amazing child.

Change of plans for tonight's dinner. Kaeli has worked two 14 hour days back to back and off to work again this morning for 8 am. She phoned last night to say that she would rather stay here in the Park, than deal with traffic going into the city to Chuck E Cheeses during rush hour traffic. So instead we will have dinner together at Kelsey's. (I'm thrilled as I wasn't sure what would be on the menu at Chuck E Cheeses for me to eat!) One day we will go there, just for the experience. Just not today.

My Positives:
Tomorrow is Friday and I get to leave work early. I have so many overtime hours, I need to start taking some of them.
It's Kaeli's day.
Safety meeting at work today, and I'm actually all prepared for it!
My Wii.....I really do recommend that if you can get one, then do. It's an awesome way to get your exercise in and have fun at the same time. Yesterday I got in my 30 minutes right after work and then went and did another 30 minutes in the evening. I'm discovering how completely uncoordinated I am, but it's worth the giggle and gives me a challenge.
I am incredibly blessed.

Have a wonderful Thursday. Be the change you want to see in the world. It all starts with one person.

Hugs,
Wanda

I'm envisioning you laughing and exercising with your Wii. It's a healthy, fun vision. Tell Kaeli that she is being sent good wishes for her birthday from as far away as Texas! My #1 blessing arrived late last night and he was a "sight for sore eyes". Pure refreshment to see him in the flesh! Have a wonderful time celebrating. I will do the same!
Love,
Nancy

Have a wonderful day today! It all looks like it promises to be so ... nice that you're staying close to home in the middle of a hectic week. Kaeli sounds like a very wise woman (think we all know where she gets it from - sounds like she has good parents)!

Exercising...not all that bad!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

I'm so pleased with myself...I've been doing great at my exercise routine. Not only am I getting exercises done before I head for work in the morning, but I've been making myself exercise with the Wii Fit Plus as soon as I get home from work. If I leave it until later, then later never seems to happen!

Yesterday I did 50 minutes on the Wii and even managed to "get Lost" while doing the biking one. I had 20 check point flags that I needed to go past to finish the course...somehow I got "lost"! The funniest thing ever...took me forever to find the last 2 check points. Lots of fun regardless. It just goes to show that when you make exercising fun, it is not that hard to go!

My Positives:
I'm finding more and more exercises that I enjoy doing in the Wii Fit. Even tackling some that I don't really enjoy!
Tomorrow is Kaeli's birthday and we are going out to dinner. It's always the birthday person's choice of what/where we go (especially as they have gotten older). Kaeli has chosen "ChuckieCheeses". Okay then! We have never been and Kaeli decided it was time to have the experience!
The fact that we can have fun at any age.
That our family has a great sense of humour.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, keep on moving forward and find your humour in the day too.

Hugs,
Wanda

Just don't get stuck in the "cheese crawl." My son Matt and his friends had a Chucky Cheese Prom back in high school. Enjoy the experience and say "hi" to Chucky for me.
Love,
Nancy

ps the thought of you lost in the Wii woods is an interesting one.

A very Happy Birthday to Kaeli. We've been to Chuckie Cheeses for grandkids and great grandkids birthdays and we all had a lot of fun. Brings to mind the song "Girls Just Want'a Have Fun" by Cyndy Lauper(sp). You are really tackling that exercise, woo hoo! Jan. is turning out to be a pretty good month and it's almost over with, I have visions of Daffodills dancing in my head, lol.Have fun tomorrow and let the kid in you out to play some games.

Happy Birthday Kaeli! I am glad to hear that you're enjoying and finding ways to enjoy different type of exercises. Once you find something you like doing, it is easier to stick with it then doing something you don't like. So keep up the good work! And I've been to Chuck E. Cheese a lot, it can be quite fun... so enjoy your pizza.

Kaeli started her new full time job yesterday. She called me after she got home to say she had enjoyed her first day and that although there is much to learn, she is excited to be challenged once again. Tonight she will start her training for her part time job, after she has finished her full time job. She will be one busy girl, but that is just the way she likes things.

Snow removal has finally been by our street and removed all the snow they had piled in a long row down the center of the street. YAY! clear streets once again. Just in time for the predicted snow fall on Thursday! lol

Was able to come home from work yesterday and spend some time on the Wii Fit. Sure do enjoy it. I feel like I'm getting a work out with out having to leave the house. I even made myself take my breaks yesterday and do my walking. I really must make myself be more diligent about taking my breaks at work. I feel so much more refreshed and ready to tackle more work when I get back from them.

My Positives:
I've set a goal for this week of taking my breaks at work and walking.
Excited about what is being offered at the Women's Conference this year. The conference is in March and only a couple of blocks away from where I live. It's held in the High School just around the corner from us. There are some new exciting things being offered. I must get my enrollment in early as I'm sure it will be a popular conference this year.
I'm slowly adjusting to not having my girls at home in the evenings. The house still feels very empty though.
God, who blesses my life with wonders.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit...have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Okay, I disappointing day on one hand this morning. Weigh in day and my scales tell me that I have not eliminated any weight. On the other hand...okay, maybe the scales haven't said anything different, but I feel better now that I'm back with an established workout routine and I know that I am much more mindful of what I am eating. So, I will continue to be diligent and I know that the scales will soon reflect that change in lifestyle.

On the plus side...there has been no increase!

A great day yesterday. Garry and I spent about 2 hours walking around IKEA store...YAY unexpected calorie burn! I got 30 minutes of fairly intense Wii Fit workout put in. Boxing and running! On the way home from the city, Garry and I stopped at Konto's to see what they might have in the way of TV stands. Discovered they had a great sale on bar height stools, something that the girls needed. They had ones that could be raised or lowered depending on how high a person wanted them to be at the time. Two stools for $99.00. We phoned the girls to see what they thought and it was a go ahead, so picked them up and brought them home. A successful day for all.

My positives:
Being in the right place at the right time.
Calorie burning extras.
Enjoying the Wii Fit Plus routine that I have been putting together.
Although the scales did not show a decrease, I'm still pleased with the routine I've been doing.
The blesses that God sends our way each day.

Have a great Motivation Monday, keep focused on your goals.

Hugs,
Wanda

... my scales weren't showing any changes - then bingo yesterday I dropped 7 lbs overnight ... I knew it wasn't true but for a whole day I had a big smile on my face ... this morning I woke up with a wry little smile ... time to face the music - I was pretty sure there was probably a loose screw or something ... ends up I lost an eensy little bit ... funny how a weight change can have an impact on our day! Keep up your good work ... what I did see was a measurement change! emoticon

Serenity Sunday

Sunday, January 17, 2010

I'm having a lazy day today...it's back to work again tomorrow at 5:30 am so today is just for family and relaxing.

Nothing major has been planned other than taking the flooring samples back to the store in the city, then Garry is thinking as the weather is still fairly nice that he'll BBQ for supper. That means a stop at the store, but that is an easy do.

Hoping everyone else is having a lovely serenity Sunday. This is your day to for your spirit to renew itself in what ever manner works for you, whether it's attending Church, meditating of just having some quiet time.

My Positives:

I woke up this morning...always a positive.
Garry is home from work today, so a day to spend together.
My SP computer time is all taken care of.
My exercises will done as soon as the computer things are done.
Being blessed with another day of life.

Have a great one, thanks for stopping by,
Hugs,
Wanda

Pausing to refresh. A nice healthy choice! Enjoy your day off. I am truly enjoying today because we have an extra day off this week. We have tomorrow off to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I am most grateful for the extra "free" time. Thanks for all that you do to keep things running at the Positive Bloggers. It really is an important part of my healthy lifestyle and I am very grateful! Hope you and Garry have a scrumptious day!
Love,
Nancy
