I survived my first day back at work yesterday and what a busy day.
I discovered that I have been scheduled to train someone a couple of hours a days for the next month. This person will be taking over a part of my job for the next year while I concentrate on ordering. I'm hoping that it won't take that long to train them, but we will see.
We had a nice surprise yesterday. Our co-worker Geff (who had the heart attack) dropped by for a brief visit. Sure was great to see him. It is his wife's birthday today, and as he is not allowed to drive as yet, he has asked if I could pick something up for him and deliver it to his home. He has a birthday gift all chosen, but because Sandi was with him, he didn't want to spoil the surprise for her birthday. I'm happy to do this for him.
A brief blog this morning, as I need to get going for work.
Co-worker Geff is doing great.
Making head way on the pile of orders on my desk at work.
A good sleep last night.
I've been able to start doing my weights again. My dumbbells were in a cupboard that I couldn't get to due to storage issues. Yay...room once again in my computer room.
Friends and family.
Holiday time is over for me now and it's back to work today. A nice brisk morning in our house this morning as once again our furnace is acting up. We are hovering at 16 degrees in the house. Certainly gets you moving! Exercises this morning were great as they helped to warm me up. lol
I've been up since 3 am. Woke up and my mind started turning with all the things at work that I know are waiting for me. As well as mentally going through all the codes that I need to remember. Hate that when that happens...I didn't have to be up for another 1.5 hours and yet turning off my active mind was not working! Oh well, I can sleep tonight!
The temperatures are hovering around zero outside, so comparatively....it is still warm in the house!
I remember all my codes and passwords.
Morning exercises are done.
Weighed in this morning...no weight elimination...but on the positive side...no weight gain either! I just have to keep increasing my calorie burning and watching my intake.
I'm actually glad to be going back to work this morning...I like my routines.
God, who continues to bless this family so abundantly.
Have a wonderful Motivation Monday...keep on track.
It's been wonderful having some time off work to relax and accomplish things on my to do list at home. I'm actually looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. I like my routine and now that thoughts of what is waiting in my inbox at work have been progressively intruding into my daily thoughts...it's time!
We had such a beautiful day weather wise here yesterday..we actually made it up to plus 1! Not a come occurance for this time of year. Unfortunately, it has made the roads dangerously slippery once the temps dropped a bit again. It was nice though to have some of the snow melt off where it had built up on the streets. Ahhhh, spring is on it's way ...we must be down now to about 69 or 68 days???
The girls are settling in very well, as are the animals. CJ has come out of hiding, but he has a bolt hole to run to at a moments notice. He's been diving under the covers on Shy's bed. Too funny! Shy says it looks hilarious as this is something he has never done before. She says he dives in and under and then peeks out from under the covers. But he is adjusting which is good. He leaves all the exploring to the rabbit(Nevi). Once she has checked out a location then he will go and check it out also. Such a brave boy!
I've got the Wii all set up again downstairs and yesterday got more steps in on the free step exercise...3735 steps in 30 minutes...woo hoo! I plan on taking my exercise ball and weights downstairs too. This way everything is all in once spot and I have my own little mini gym! My goal this year is to increase my exercise doing exercises that I can do from home. Having the Wii enables me to change the exercises about so that I don't get bored with them or stuck in a rut.
Garry and I brought home some floor samples for the computer/craft room and the living/dining room yesterday. We have chosen which one we would like and now we will price it out and start saving for it.
My Wii is all hooked up again and I've been able to use it.
Today we will move some of the items stored in my computer room back downstairs into storage....there is room now!
My body is recovering from all the soreness and stiffness of helping the girls move.
I don't have to cook tonight...Garry wants to BBQ seeing as the weather is so nice.
Once I have space back in my computer room, I will be able to start scanning all my photos into the computer and then transferring them on to a separate USB drive. Yeah, another project about to begin and crossed off my "to do" list.
I have a new day ahead of me to be creative in...I'm off to begin it and enjoy it now!
Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday. Thank you for stopping by .
PS Nancy I'm home pretty much every evening next week.
The new phase of our lives has begun. Garry and I got the girls all moved yesterday. Although I'm sure, there are probably still small items that we will discover over the next few days that have been forgotten and will need to be taken to them.
I'm very glad to be going for my monthly theraputic massage this morning. I've discovered muscles that have been dormant for far too long! I'm sure that I more than surpassed the recommended 10,000 steps a day yesterday. It was hard to figure out how to actually track the exercise yesterday, but I did find a "moving: carrying boxes" exercise on SP that I used. as I felt it was probably close enough to what all we were doing.
The most traumatic part of the girls move was moving Shy's poor cat. He was so upset and scared. I'm hoping that he will have settled down somewhat for the Shy when he realized that all his things and hers were still around him. He panics when his environment is changed in any way. The poor little guy is spooked by any changes as well as any sudden moves. At least the girls will have the full weekend of being at their new place and getting settled in before he gets left on his own during the day while they work.
A new phase in Garry's and my life to look forward to and embrace.
The move for the girls is all done.
My massage this morning to help work out some of the kinks.
The weather is much warmer than it has been, we are only in the minus 5 to minus 10 range now instead of minus 30'sl
My SPARK book arrived this week, haven't had a chance to begin reading it yet, but it looks good!
An invititation to attend a favorite uncle's 85 birthday celebration in July in British Columbia.
Life...it is never boring.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Enjoy this Silly Saturday...let that inner child out for some fun.
Moving day has arrived for my girls. Today they get possession of their condo and the move begins. I'm sure we will discover "forgotten" things as the days go by, but seeing as they are going to be about 9 blocks away, it won't be difficult to move those things too!
The girls did their walk through with the landlord last evening and are excited about getting settled in their new place. I'm doing not bad...I'm excited for them.
I'm enjoying the Wii Fit Plus and the free step exercise they have on there. I did 3156 steps in 30 minutes yesterday...today my steps will probably all be ones that are carrying boxes as we move the girls!
I'm hoping to incorporate the free step into my daily routine as a way of ensuring that I get my steps in each day. I still need to get a new battery for my pedometer as then I can track every step that I take. I'm aiming to make each day a 10,000 step day for sure!
Having a Wii and the Wii Fit/Plus programs.
The ability to move my body and exercise.
Knowing that we have raised our children to be independent and that they are confident in their own abilities.
Having the internet to stay in touch with friends and family.
Kaeli's best friend and her husband are expecting their first child....YAY...I'm going to be a surrogate grandma! Julie is one of our daughters by the sheer fact that she has been in our lives since she was 8 years old. We are all so excited.
Waking up this morning and knowing that I have a brand new day ahead of me to create to my hearts content.
Have a Fabulous Friday, thank you for stopping by for a visit.
