I won 1000 Spark Goodie points!

Saturday, January 14, 2012

emoticon I think the goodie points are a fun way to encourage and motivate fellow sparkers. I always smile when someone sends me one and I enjoy giving them out too. Now I have 1000 goodie points to share with my friends here at SP! emoticon
I'll have to browse the "goodies" later when I have time to dream a little emoticon

Have a great day!

So far so good in the New Year!

Thursday, January 12, 2012

I'm still getting on the elliptical or other cardio 5 days a week and have lost 1 pound!
I haven't had an easy time of adding weight training but I've made an effort to get 2 session in each week and that's going well. I really have to force myself to do it because it's in my "routine" yet. I have noticed that even a 15 min session really makes a difference in how I feel-stronger!

I've also been doing better at eating more fruit as snacks and grabbing a water instead of a soda or juice.

It FINALLY snowed today so I'm hoping to try out the new cross country skis soon too!

I'm the same way with strength training. I do fine if I'm following a DVD, but I've been trying to do something different and I have to make myself do it. I'm hoping that it will get easier.

It takes one step at a time, but when you add mmany steps, they will help that weight to come off! Honor God Always! Vic.

2012-a year to keep old habits and add a few news ones.

Sunday, January 01, 2012

I've done well getting on my elliptical 5 days a week most of the year. I slacked off a little in the summer with more outdoor activity but got back to my regular habits in September. I maintained my weight through the holidays and managed to lose about 4 lbs over the last 3 months.

I've done pretty well with my water intake but need to improve my veggie intake-it's almost nonexistent! emoticon I'm good with fruit but really need to add my veggies to round out my diet.

My goal for the new year is to get back to weight training. That was the key for my weight loss last winter/spring and I loved how toned I was. But sadly, that slacked off in the summer and I didn't get back to it this fall. So that is what I'm focusing on these next few months-establish a 3x a week strength/weight training routine in addition to my cardio. I've got some great new exercise DVDs that should help with this and I'll also use the SP videos.

2012 will be a year for "refining" my fitness habits but not any huge changes. I'm happy to have gotten this far with the help of SP over the last few years!

A Resolution I NEED to keep

Saturday, December 31, 2011

I rarely make resolutions, especially at this time of year. I know they are destined to fail most of the time so I resolutely avoid them and focus on goals as needed throughout the year.

But I must admit.....my exercise DVD collection has exploded out of control! emoticon
I have at least 15 DVDs I haven't watched at all and probably twice that many that I've only done once and don't recall if I liked it or not.
I have to get my collection down to more manageable size. I haven't counted but it's probably close to 75... Time to simplify!

So my "resolution" is to go through all my exercise DVDs in the month of January and either trade, sell, or donate the ones I don't need or don't want any longer. My small town library has no exercise DVDs so I plan to donate at least 4-6 to them.

I am starting right NOW!

What a great idea to bless others with the DVDs that you don't need!

That is a great idea! Way to weed out the workouts that you don't do. Good luck!

Week 9 Progress- 10 in 10 Challenge

Friday, December 30, 2011

Better late than never! I'm a little late this week posting my progress but happy to post that I didn't gain from the big holiday week! I only got 3 days of exercise in due to being gone most of the week but I was a conscious eater and enjoyed what I did choose to indulge in.

I had a great week with family for Christmas and have much to be thankful for. I am happy to have maintained my weight and not gained! Yippee!
