cannot believe what I have accomplished in last month or so

Sunday, October 12, 2014

I started out by water walking for an hour at health club last month and then came the morning I couldn't go , so thought why not use the recumbent bike in the basement duh! So for last little over a month have ridden my recumbent bike every morning. I set a goal for at least 30 minutes. My husband said to me have you thought of adding up your mileage to see how much you have done. So I did so this morning and it blew me out of the water. I have a total of 231.54 miles. And I actually thought oh my and i actually look forward to doing it each day. I also start a load of wash most days when I start the ride. Now to get my food intake more realistic is the next thing to get right.. emoticon

hate the word restart- but you gotta do what you gotta do

Friday, November 16, 2012

emoticon I am so pumped as joined a new team with a new perspective. Spark is such a great community to be able to correspond with and I appreciate it so much. I don't have any major health concerns so no excuses are allowed by me for my shape. So proof is in the future for me. I am not going to say that I hope to do something as that leaves room to fail. I AM going to do better. Hubby and I both retired and for first time yesterday we did a morning walk and yep walked further than I planned but had a goal--Post Office. Since our first time did not even realize how far we walked- 1 1/2 miles. Today we will walk again. I have wii system and all sorts of things for exercise and this putting off til tomorrow has had to stop-NOW! I am from a large family with 11 children and I am only one [knock on wood] to be in pretty good health. I am saying heart issues, diabetes, cancer and who knows what else. Needless to say only I can change the future. I am 64 yrs young and am ready to make a difference in my life and my hubby's- I want him around for a long long time. emoticon

Your family history gives you lots on incentive to stay healthy. Walking is great and the best thing of all the only cost is a good pair of shoes. Keep up the good work. I will be looking forward to hearing the good things that happen because of it

THIS WORKS. WENT ON WEEKS CRUISE DID NOT GAIN A POUND.

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years
old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off. took 16 months.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x. took 7 months.

use a salad plate as a dinner plate

use fruit for your sweet tooth cravings, an apple works great. helps with the chewing sensation.

fill your salad plate with half vegetables.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

again-- renew my challenge to myself to live better lifestyle

Monday, May 21, 2012

Here it is May 21st and again I have to re-dedicate myself to improving my outlook weight-wise as well as my emotions. I am going to keep a journal starting to day to see what I am doing to better understand why I have gotten so heavy. I have a precious little grand-daughter that needs me to be more active so she can play more outside. I want to feel better as well as look better. Day one of rest of my life and improvement will be seen I will guarantee that to myself.

There are 196 days left in 2012.

What resolutions can we kick to the curb before January 1, 2013??

Very nice! I love it when some catchy little phrase remains in my mind. Some things just seem to stick with you forever, and these are a wonderful collection of them to keep in mind.

Thanks! Eve

have to try again to do it right and take small steps

Sunday, May 30, 2010

I guess I am kind of the impatient type to put it mild. I need to start over when I fall off the wagon and think small steps add up. I have a job that is physical and at 62 try to keep up with younger ones as not to make them work harder to make up for me. Proud to say boss says I can outdo alot of coworkers-some half my age. Anyway my daughter got married in Jamacia and we went with--awesome! she had health concerns which worried me so much and you know what stress and worry tend to do to your fitness and nutrition levels. So on from that all is well now. Joined Health Club again [ great deal for us old folks!] and went for short time and then broke my toe. Whoa pain is there and now subsiding thanks to ice packs I used on breaks at work and at home. Bothers a little to wear shoes, but am on the mend. I have a new Grandbaby and I got to have her for a few hours yesterday and what an honor. She is so tiny- born May 5th and I have so much to be thankful for and what a boost to get me going again. Oh and I am soon going to be on a lighter job at work so that stress and worry will be easing up and I can hardly wait to get on with this journey. Sorry this is a book but am so pumped to get going again.
