Shaky Post-Challenge Days

Well hi there!

I did mean to blog on Friday. Then Saturday... Then.... You get the idea.

The food went bad again. I swear my dentist has cursed me. Since asking if I eat sweat things... I am CRAVING sugar so bad that I keep buying it and chomping it down like there's no tomorrow. Sweet sugary jelly sweets and chocolate... I never buy chocolate... Oh well I've bought chocolate lately. I'm telling myself it's not so bad because I haven't been having the sweet stuff ADDITIONAL to my junk food takeaways - I am still TAKEAWAY-FREE right now... Yay! But ah... Diet diet diet! How come knowing what is right and wrong and what is so good for us and what is not so good for us... still isn't enough for our little brains to make the RIGHT decision?!

I've broken the non-workout chain anyway. I didn't workout Friday to Monday either. I was cool with a rest day or two after my 30 Day Challenge... And then Sunday went by. In all honesty I let it slip by thinking "I can't be bothered." It's so stupid how I let this happen, after being so good on ON IT, I watch myself tone up, I tighten up and lose some weight and feel amazing... feel amazing in my clothes and am filled with confidence, YET I still then skip the good stuff (workouts) and laze around not being 'bothered' and pig out instead.

We humans are not logical.

Monday was supposed to be Zumba time but my workout-pal pulled out on me... And that was a good enough excuse for me to pull out too.

ANYWAY - Looking forward. Did Hot Booty workout tonight.. So so hard I could have cried. Constant back to back of 10 seconds on squat jumps / lunges, to 10 seconds mountain climbers. Never. Ending. I'm about to get a bath. Relax whilst the hubby watches football. I'd much rather play football than watch it.

Thursday I am booked in for Body Attack. No quitting that class - even if the workout bud cancels, I love this one too much. I also decided to make up for being bad and skipping zumba - so I asked said workout bud (I should say fitness class bud really) if she fancied doing a class this weekend... So we have decided on a Body Pump class for 9am Saturday morning. How fantastic will that be? I'm already really excited... I am seeing a friend Friday night and wine will be involved... BUT knowing I have a class at 9am should definitely curb me from over-indulging too much! ;)

I haven't had much internet time at all (it's been that 'can't-be-bothered' phase, so I'm really sorry for being behind with everyone. I'm slowly trying to get up to date, so if I've been rude and not got back to you or said hello - I'm sorry! :(

Pushing for a super successful Wednesday! And it's just under 3 weeks until I jet off to Mexico for 2 weeks - I cannot afford to be slipping in diet OR exercise right now!!

    That's sounds so great, to have a fitness bud that can be together with classes, I haven't found one yet that I can share my interest but then I'm much more comfortable doing my workout alone or with strangers or with my close-knit family LOL

It's just less 3 weeks before Mexico, you're doing AWESOME right now, don't get so easily distracted with anything!

    Good going on the takeaways!! I reckon you should make a plan to take you up to Mexico, that involves lots of body attack/pump and gives you a focus again. You did so well with the 30 day bodyrock!

    I totally was in that "I cannot be bothered" state for the last few days.. I think TOM is here even though she hasn't made a huge appearance at all (You never really know with this silly IUD! ahh!)

Dude, and that hot booty workout was NEVER. ENDING. My hubby and I did it together, THANK FREAKING GOODNESS, because if I was suffering from that torture alone I definitely would not have been pushing as hard as I was or may have even given up 3/4 of the way through! haha! Ridiculous!


Common Steph!!! MEXICO IS JUST THREE WEEKS AWAY!!!! You've got this girl!! Keep that in mind! FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS!!!

  We can't all be perfect, I know you come pretty close though. ;)

Just glad you're back - so fast as if you weren't even gone. We all make human errors though. There's a difference between slacking and needing a quick vacation. We're all working to find that medium between living the lifestyle and allowing ourselves that meal or snack or two during the week that allows us a little give.

    I think it must be the end of winter blues, I can exercise fine, but eating. Had a good day yesterday and then went bad today. Hope you enjoy pump. I used to do it but not into it nowadays. Just Balance and RPM for me. Have a great Wednesday! emoticon

Flying Time

Time is flying by at the moment... Not had time to blog or catch up with everyone. I shall find that time! Tomorrow! ;)

Finished February's 30 Day BodyRock Challenge. I actually FINISHED it. Did every workout posted. Okay I was a day or two behind sometimes... But can you believe I finished it?! Hehe, I'm very proud of myself for sticking to it - and I've surprised myself! :)

The final Fit Test was a wonderful reward to the whole 30 days. I was bouncing around the house with happiness. Here is my final test scores, and the previous middle of the 30 day's fit test scores. Check out the improvements! (Old in brackets)

-Squat Jumps - 35 (28)
-Pushups - 28 (20)
-Burpee's - 10 (8) (full burpee's.... oops)
-High Knee's - 116 (95)
-Jump Lunges - 37 (33)
-Tuck Jumps - 22 (18)
-Tricep Dips - 31 (19)
-Straight Abs - 27 (21)

I thought I had pushed to the best of my ability in the old test... So to improve with bigger numbers was such an amazing feeling... A nice surprise, and a reminder of what I can do when I put my mind to it.

Oh and for sharing, here is yesterday's lunch. A salad loaded with spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, avocado, ham, and the yellow stuff is chillililli! Picalilli with chilli in it! Very yummy. I had it for lunch today too.


And to finish - I just got back from my second Body Attack class. It was brilliant! Seemed to fly by this time and didn't feel as hard as the first class. A few more and I think I might be able to keep up with the instructor.... ;) haha !

I'm so happy for you and your big cheesyh grin and your fabulous arms!! Finishing the full challenge, improving your scores, eating yummy healthy food (well, except for picalilli which I think is just weird :-p ) - that's the Steph that's been lurking around - knew she was in there but guess it took some prodding to get her out!

Final Day of 30 Day February BodyRock Challenge

Hey yo!

It's such a pain this work lark, when I want to blog, ha! Yes I'm currently working so this is really quick.

The 420 rep workout yesterday... Another Sean workout. Honestly his workouts are... ridiculously hard, lol. I cut the workout down before I started - to 210 reps. So did 3 rounds of 10 reps per 7 exercises. A lot of the exercises were new and had add-ons to them so I think it's why I found it a bit more... complicated. Still, a good and tough 24 minute sweat. And the quickfiring what was going on for me yesterday was quite brilliant - I was on fire! ;)

Final fit test tonight! Woo! I'm really excited for it haha... I do hope I can improve all my scores. 4 weeks I've been on board and I am feeling really good... So I hope the numbers are there to show me some good progress.

I bought some salad stuffs for lunch today and bought an avocado. I've never ever used an avocado... Or even chopped one myself, so I'm going to have a shifty to see how exactly I should portion it... And then... Well then I'll eat it. :)

    Wow, 3 x 10 reps per exercises for 7 exercises and you did it in 24 minutes, AWESOME! Your minutes is impressive :D

I hope you will get a lot improvement for your final test, GOOD LUCK!

I've never eat avocado, I only think of it as ingredients in facial wash, hehe. That's how I get introduced, when I first saw a commercial of a facial wash with avocado.

    Mmmmm avacados are so yummy!!!! I love guacamole =D I make it here at home at least once a week! haha! And nice work doing half of that sean workout! AHH! It's totally ridiculous! For the first go through I did all the exercises as they were written, 20 reps a piece and I almost DIED.. to get through the second round I modified the reps a bit so it was double the reps on the cardio moves (like the pendulums.. wtf did he call them? crazy monkey or something?!) and then only did 10 reps for the strength moves like the push ups etc... still totally wiped my clock clean after 2 rounds! eep! I challenged my hubby to trying it out, we'll see if he does! =p=p

    Make sure the avocado is soft and squishy before you eat it, otherwise it can be horrible and bitter... when its ripe its delicious.

  You're awesome Steph! I agree with Vyvienn, avocado is delish. I don't buy it often because I suck at picking the right ones haha. But if you have leftovers and want to prevent it from browning, I suggest making it into guacamole with lime (or lemon), salt & pepper, garlic, and some onion. Then you can spread it on your sammies or just spoon some on your salad. But yeah the citric acid will prevent it browning.

Avocado is good stuff, I like to put it on sandwiches and veggie burgers. Get one that's a bit soft when you (gently) press on it, slice it once around lengthwise with a sharp knife, then twist. It'll come right apart at the pit (stone? kernel? whatever). To prevent discolouration, you can put a bit of lemon juice on the leftover bits, but it darkens quickly. Nothing to worry about, though. Just wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge for further use. I usually just thinly slice off any mushy or too dark bits.

Hey heyyy!

Things are good. Good Steph is here... here's how I tell. I realised how actual LITTLE time I had yesterday after work... Definitly not enough time to even start attempting Day 4 of Week 4 BodyRock 30 Days because I wouldn't have been able to put my mind on the actual workout - and I'd have ended up quitting earlier than I should because of time restraints.

The sensible thing to do?
Chill out and push it a day back. Yes Week 4 is getting split up quite a bit for me... But we're getting there!! AND... Good Steph is obviously here because I was racking my brain all the way home for a workout I could do, which would support my challenge still.

SO I got home and did 12 rounds, 10s rest and 50s on - these 4 exercises.
-High Knees Skipping
-Santana Pushups
-High Knees Skipping
-Goblet Squat (w/ 14kg KB)

I do have my scores, at home. I'm at work now. I got a good sweat on and am rather pleased with myself!

Just wanted to be accountable. See you later, 420 reps!!

P.S. My legs sure are feeling those goblet squats this morning! LOL!

    Heya girl!!! I just saw that I missed the previous blog before this one! How the heck did that happen? =/ I'm sorry, I dont mean to be a lame sparkfriend! lol! Great job on that workout in your previous blog, and for this new one! That sounds totally rockin!!! I love Santana push ups =] have you ever done Santana Zuzana Push Ups? It's basically a santana push up but when you're in the side plank position you do a side plank crunch where you bring your elbow to your other elbow, ya know? OMG totally kills those abs!!!

And GOOD LUCK with that 420 workout! It seriously was crazy! Maybe I was just lower in energy (only had coffee in my system, first thing in the am) but I couldn't even get through the whole thing! (helped that my little one had pulled me away from my workout right about then too, eh? =p once you're cooled off for a minute or two it's way either to say "meeeeeeeeh" LOL!)

ANYWAY, I'll stop blabbing.. WHOOT for sore legs! Heck yeah girl! =D

Howdy!

Little update. T'is Sunday. I did Day 3 of Week 4 tonight. Woo! I'm a little bit behind, but I'm still on the 30 Day Challenge. That's the main thing!!

Today's workout was a good one, a list of 17 exercises, all different, and only going at each exercise for 30 seconds. It was a LOT of fun. My scores looked like this ~

Pushup + Twist - 10
KB Swings (14kg) - 19
Jump Lunges - 24
Bent Over Rows (10kg) - 16
Left Side Lunge (10kg) - 11
Right Side Lunge (10kg) - 11
Pushup + Touch Shoulder - 14
Lunge + Twist Alt (10kg) - 9
Squat + Press (10kg) - 12
Elevated Pushups - 11 (these got SO hard)
Mountain Climbers - 63
Reverse Pullups - 15
Plank
Left Oblique Plank
Right Oblique Plank (Proud of myself for holding these for the full 30s, esp. the side planks!)
Tricep Dips - 17
Goblet Squats (14kg) - 14

Whew! So Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was kind of awful. I went to see a friend on Friday night and we had some drinks. I didn't drink much really, BUT I made the mistake of totally mixing my drinks... So Saturday I was ill all day - hungover. Bad bad bad Steph. I had a bad case of alcohol poisoning... I couldn't eat or drink without vomiting within an hour of consuming it. Not a good day. So no workout happened - when it should have.

Back to last week, started week 4 happily, going well. Thursday I had a Body Attack class... But while we were waiting to start, the instructor still hadn't turned up - so it got cancelled there and then. Sad times. :( I was REALLY psyched for the class too... and also scared too because I knew the 2nd session would be harder than the first. I did plan on BodyRocking instead but by the time I drove home, I didn't feel like doing anything.

So Thursday ended up being an unscheduled rest day. Then Saturday. We're okay though, we're still grasping on. :)

Two more days left for me of the 30 Day Challenge now... eek! And one of those is the final fit test!! Tomorrow's workout is a 420 rep time challenge... I'm slightly worried about because tomorrow I have a theatre trip with my Mum and Sister, a little girly night... the show starts at 7:30pm and I finish work at around 5:30pm... So I'm HOPING I can fit my workout in.... I don't want too many rest days in before I give it my all in the final fit test. :-s

So things are good and I'm really tired now. Early night again for me I think!!

    All sounding really good to me - nearly 30 days done. Well done you!!

While I certainly wouldn't condone it as a general practice... the one good bit about alcohol posoining is that it helps keeps the calories down (or maybe just balances out the number you've had the night before!). And it's important to go a little crazy now and again... (Can you tell I'm trying to condone my own behaviour??)

Hope you manage to squeeze in those 420 reps before the theatre. If not, there's always the interval...?
