With a Little Effort

Monday, December 12, 2011

Ah, so tired. It's nearly 8pm and i really need to go up and lie in bed. Maybe put a film on but i plan on sleeping very soon. Things are catching up with me!

Just a quick blog to describe my arrival home.

Arrived home at 7pm, another late finish at work, then some food shopping afterwards. Body has been aching a bit today so i figure i need to give it some rest, plus it's already 7pm, so i decide to take a rest day.

I also thought... hmmm, will weigh in shortly, so maybe have a cheat day too? Oooh.... ordering pizza sounds delicious right about now. *Homer salvating sound*

SO i did my trick again. I started cooking things.

I weighed myself too. And got QUITE a shocker. Y'know... it just shows how much i can do by putting all my effort into every aspect... since last weeks weigh in i lost a huge 8.5lbs. Holy cow? Maybe my scales are broke but HEY, I'll take that for now! LOL.

So i weighed in at 144lbs. HAPPY DAYS!! So so pleased with this. Over the moon infact. YES! I'm also glad i didn't order pizza, and the calamari i just had will do. I actually feel a bit sick after it, maybe i used too much oil.

So a little happy blog... because i'm amazed. Will catch up with everybody tomorrow !

I will come and steal your calamari. I'm in desperate need of some sea food again. Too bad here with a picky BF who doesn't touch anything that has once lived in the sea. Maybe the calamari did swim away with those 8.5 lbs, who knows!

Highly Productive

Sunday, December 11, 2011

WELL, I think i've had possibly THE most PRODUCTIVE day at work.... EVER. Lol! I kid you not, (The UKers will get that phrase ;) ) i have worked my butt off alllllll day long. No time to scive or sneak a quick lookie online... why? Because internet has been down all weekend in work, LOL. Feels good anywho, now i don't have any work to do until like June 2012.... Kidding ;)

GREAT eating again today. Woop! Feels good to only eat what i need, and not over eat. Finish eating before i am full. I seriously do so well on strict diets... it structures everything for me and lays out the rules. I think i've said before, but i'm definitely an 'all or nothing' girl.

I ended up having to stay 2 hours later than planned too, so what did i do? I used that time to totally quickfire myself. We have 2 guard dogs at work, who are like pets to me really.... so i played with them for most of those two hours. Played by running around, sprinting to beat them for toys, racing them up and down. I never did win.... but hey i can try and keep up with the speedy four-legged cuties, right?! As you can tell, i had A LOT of fun.

On arrival home, I got out my workout book right away as i'd wrote down FITMOMMYFORLIFE's own made up workout - find it here www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
urnal_individual.asp?blog_id=4619607
- which was a nice mix up of BodyRocking and also some MyoMyTV ideas! Tooootally kicked my butt... but just what i needed to make me feel AMAZING and as happy and high as i am right now!

emoticon Yay!

I've eaten a nice little mixture of lean pork, cheese, carrot and pineapple for dinner, and now i'm gonna get a nice long hot bath, relax and wind down for the night. Early start at work again in the morning. It's all good now though, looking forward to my weekend off!!

Did i mention the husband and i had booked a trip? Well it's my birthday on December 26th, so we will be having Christmas day with my family, then getting up early on my birthday and flying out to Amsterdam for a four night stay. Yay! We only decided it a couple of days ago and booked it, and i'm so happy, i LOVE to travel and see a new place and explore it, and i love to get away for a day or two for my birthday... So i'm just an all over happy bunny right now! I just gotta keep charge of myself, be good-ish in Amsterdam and then make sure i am ready to kick my bum when i get back.

I'm gonna go get that bath! Have a great week Sparklers! x

Sorry to hear you had to work on a sunday. Days that like suck sometimes, but glad it went quickly for you. As for the holiday, all the walking around travelling and exploring more than covers your exercise (hello more fitness minutes :P) So you can indulge all you want! Thats the great thing about holidays!

Good to feel the happiness coming through! x

Fighting

Friday, December 09, 2011

Friday night :)

Unfortunately, I'm not very excited about this. It's my working weekend come around again (always so fast!) and i'm feeling pretty drained before it's begun... and then i work through next week lol. It's worth it afterwards though, so i won't go on complaining!

Yesterday I ate well. Had a few lollipops in work but they shouldn't hurt too much? I did the super-short Bodyrock workout of 7 mins. Sweated though, hah. Had a nice bath for some down time.

Today, eating has been great again. I did have one lollipop. It's better than most naughty things though, isn't it? I'm not even sure how bad lollipops are... they're pure sugar mainly? I'm so lost sometimes, heh. I finished work at 6pm instead of 5pm tonight, and was thinking about how i'd love to go out for a meal, wind down with a drink. Naughty Steph. I did some (mental) fighting and reminded myself of the meal i had waiting to be cooked in my fridge.

Got home with the hubby and seriously, i couldn't be bothered and really wanted some takeaway. I want some sweet stuff too. Sweets, chocolate, anything?! It's funny that i don't even care about sweet things in normal everyday life. Anyway, tonight was not a lost battle, I'm glad to report. I FOUGHT. And i won!!!

I shoved the chicken under the grill quick. Can't waste it once it starts cooking? Hehe, I had a pint of water to fill my belly and a teaspoon of peanut butter to, have SOMEthing.

Now it's 8pm and success. I might have a Horlicks for bed. I really need to go to bed soon.

I haven't tried the cashew butter yet. I went to taste the almond butter but don't think i'm quite ready for it yet. It smelt... not as expected. I think it might be better in smoothies maybe. There are simply 2 ingredients on the jar - Roasted almonds and salt. So this is good? The cashew butter is also 2 ingredients - cashews and sunflower oil. I'm still following my 2 week diet plan (mostly mostly) so can't wait to try these out properly in different things.

I'm getting far too excited about nut butters! :P

OH and to finish - rest day today, needed, planned so far for tomorrow - day 3 of week 1 c25k. Happy days! BodyRock is lacking in the updates again this week. :(

Have a wonderful weekend peoples.

Nice work with winning your inner battles! I have the SAME conversations with myself all the time! I love your comment, "I shoved the chicken under the grill quick. Can't waste it once it starts cooking? " I have the SAME THOUGHTS, a lot! =D What did you think of the 7 min workout? Was it too short you think? A part of me wants to do it, another part thinks, why not just wait for a longer workout that's supposed to be posted YESTERDAY? =p

Keep up the awesome work Steph! You rock! =D

Great discipline Steph!! LOL Sometimes we all just need to go to bed so we can stop thinking about what else to eat... I do that all the time. Especially if I'm watching a movie or get bored. :p

Almond butter is fantastic!! I used to eat it plain on toast, but if you're looking to get rid of it fast - there are some recipes for homemade energy bars/cookies using almond butter. The taste probably won't be as strong but you'll still get all the nutrients from it.

Sorry about work but it's OK cos you're gonna make that money girl!! :)

I Roll Up

Wednesday, December 07, 2011

A few pointers from my day :)

I noticed i enjoyed my food a lot more today. My grapefruit for breakfast. Dry piece of wholemeal toast as a mid morning snack. Fruit salad for lunch. Salmon fillet w/ broccoli & green beans for tea (dinner!) The hubby even enjoyed my salmon (he often refuses to eat fish with me) but i sprinkled it with chilli flakes and cayenne pepper and it was subtly delish.

Tired after work, but changed and jumped straight on the treadmill. Did Day 2 of Week 1 C25K. Yay! Felt good, had my Blackberry earphones in and jammed to some of my new fave tracks. I did drop the phone a few times, as i pulled the wire whilst running and it fell out of the treadmill holder. Then i was holding the phone, and got carried away whilst running and dropped it. The hubby wasn't happy, having to fetch it and give it me back, as i wouldn't stop running to jump off and get it, hah!

Music makes running so much easier. Enjoyable even.

Things are good and I feel happy. I've been in pain most of the day due to being female but hey... they'll die down soon enough. I'm enjoying being 'natural' without my contraceptive implant now. Crazy times. Baby times... Not JUST yet. LOL.

Ciao !

I have a hard time running WITHOUT music. Even on the treadmills at the gym I'll listen to my iPod and watch the TV with subtitles to pass the time. Sometimes I like to use the random feature so I'm surprised with the song selection and so my playlists don't get stale.

Glad to hear W1D2 felt good!

Glad you are getting in to the running. I love running with my music now, although I am still banned from exercise until at least next Monday night, just gentle walking. My Dh is gettiong fed up of collecting things for me too as I ma keep dropping things or wanting things from down low and am not allowed to bend till next week.

Hope the pain goes away and glad you are feeling good.

Half Challenge

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

BodyRock posted a challenge for today (yesterday). www.bodyrock.tv/2011/12/05/fit-ass-e
xercise-challenge-formally-sumo-squat-
step-up-challenge/

I saw it this morning so planned since then to do it. I like when BodyRock have a new post in time, it sets me up for the day and helps to put me in the frame of mind.

I only did half the challenge... as it was frickin' hard, my step up leg kept dying on me, my half time was the same as everyone elses full time aaaaaaaand i didn't want to sweat TOO much on my hair. LOL. I'm trying not to wash it too often so... meh, i need to sort that out, because i can't be afraid to sweat all the time.

I'm not beating myself up about not finishing either, because i know i put some effort into it and stopped before i pushed into real life pain where i should actually stop. LOL. Funny thing is, I'm sure i did this challenge back in February when it was first posted.... I think it even could have been my first BR attempt and maybe that's why it's not in my notes.

Early night for me. Well, it's not early anymore, it's gone 9:30pm!

Oh and to finish! I was sooooo excited in Tesco tonight to find the big store i was in sold ALMOND BUTTER!! Yayyy! I've been looking for it for SO long because so many people talk about it but it's SO hard to get here in Britain! Well, i've had a tough job finding it anyways, lol. I'm so chuffed! I've been looking for it for so LONG, that i've forgotten what i even want to do with it and use it for?! LOL! Also, to top that, they had cashew butter AS WELL! How cool is this Tesco please?! So i bought both. Yay for nut butters!

You rock Steph!! BODYrock! LOL. I'm so corny but it's OK.

Btw - I'm also cutting back on washing my hair. I'm actually trying this baking soda thing... here:

air/

I am definitely still in a transition period because I still have a half bottle of shampoo and 2 bottles of conditioner, so I'm gradually incorporating the BS. Haven't tried the apple cider vinegar. I know you're like wth is she talking about. But if you go to the link - you'll see!

Early night for me is 11pm! I have yet to bump into those butters. Still looking for cacao nibs! Hey at least you attempted the workout, which is more than some of us can say *rolls eyes at myself* Maybe, you could do one half in the morning and the other half in the evening, that way you would have completed two halfs of the challenge : P

    Good job on the BR!

I actually found almond butter in Sainsburys for the first time the other day too. Didn't buy it because I had too many other things but would love to know what it's like to english tastes (you know these americans and putting sugar in peanut butter, bleurgh!)

I was having a similar issue with my quads BURNING LIKE MY LEG WAS GOING TO FALL OFF!!!

I did end up completing the entire thing! (And was sweating like a pig.. maybe it's a good thing you didn't do all 200! lol!) What I did to break it up a little so my legs didn't DIE on me was I did 50 on one leg and then 50 on the other and then switched again. It really made the workout flow better! My upper body is feeling kind of left out now that I've cooled down =p But my quads are still burning, so that's probably a good thing I didn't do anything else! LOL!
