Sore Buns!

Sunday, September 04, 2011

What a lovely day off I've had. It was the first day off that both my husband and I have been off work simultaneously in... months. We took a trip into town and strolled around for most of the day. Stopped at Starbucks. (His favourite is a sugarfree vanilla coffee frap) He bought me some nice tops... in Armani. Hark at me - haha. I took a pic of one of the vest tops I got, i put it with my hot pant jeans and hope to wear them in Prague.

I'm feeling better about my progress. I'm not feeling great about i though. When am i ever going to banish my stupid belly... if ever? I don't like the muffin top i have going on either. With my recent diet and workout dedication - those hotpant shorts are a little more comfortable on me in the leg department, they're not too tight or pinching in. But i don't want to disgust people with my damn muffin top !!!!

I really want to talk to somebody who has had a belly as big as i did... who was over 230+lbs, and somebody who has a flat stomach now, or hard-ass abs. Is there anybody out there who has done this and proven it's possible, with hard work and dedication to have a hot stomach ?? I'm starting to wonder. :-/

Along with my tops I got a nice Nike sports bra. And whilst i was there i saw a yoga mat on offer - and i've needed a mat of some sort to stop bruising my back bone and knees soooo i picked it up. Very pleased with those purchases - I do have yet to try out the bra though.

Oooh and we also bought some new dishes for the kitchen - we've had icky green plates for a long time so i looove our new dishes! ~

Ya can't leave that whole set on the shelf for a bargain of 10.99 !

We had lunch in a nice cheap pub (Wetherspoons to the Brits!), hubby had a big roast dinner and I was kind of good. I had a chicken wrap, which was under 400 calories (woopwoop) and the kind of good means i had a cocktail to go with it haha. A pitcher of cranberry juice, amaretto and southern comfort. Nice!

So, had a really nice day and I had a iddy biddy nap when we got home. Faffed about for a bit then decided to have a 2nd workout for the day!

By the way, my buns were SO SORE when i got up this morning - after BodyRock's "Let It Go" workout. I thought working out this morning would loosen it up, so i did fellow BodyRocker SULFABABY's workout "Who Needs Arms?" thinking it would be nice and light on my bum... but yowser! That almost killed me this morning ! sulfababy.tumblr.com/post/9669143934
/who-needs-arms-workout

So, buns sore again after my nap, I fancied going for it anyways. I chose "Six Pack & Love Handles" workout - www.bodyrock.tv/2010/01/21/six-pack-
and-love-handles-this-weeks-theme/
which was another pure torture workout.
8 Rounds of ~
1. Prisoner Squat with Knee up 20 reps
2. Santana Push Ups 10 reps
3. Jump Rope 100 skips as fast as you can
4. Plank Knee tucks 20 reps
Pffffft. I was bright red, dripping with sweat, too hot, thinking i was either gonna pop or pass out. Fabulous, haha! I was mega proud for finishing it. Mega. 34:18 i think.

Um also i missed this weeks weigh in, because i worked out and then don't like weighing afterwards with the sweatloss etc, so i might weigh in tomorrow. Hoping for some good news, as i've been mostly good.

I've taken new progress pics too - to start a challenge over at Tone Your Sexy With Stiletto's. I'll post that blog tomorrow. Damn poochy stomach. I'm not good at taking pics, either.

You're looking soooooo good. You should be really proud of yourself - and I can't see a muffin top.
Nice purchases too.
What I can't believe is that you had cocktails and THEN did a workout - you are hardcore!
And well done on the Wetherspoons choice - I always find that it never tastes as good as you think it will anyway!

YOU see 'muffin top' but I dunno that anyone else does, lol... You keep working at the belly, it'll tighten up.

Re the cocktail: nah, forget the other stuff - just make mine amaretto--!

emoticon two workouts in one day! Love the pics, I am sure if you keep working at it and keep hydrated the stomach will sort itself out in time. Glad you had a great day with DH and like the new dinner set.

Love the mugs, hehe! Boy, I've done nothing at all in the workout department over the weekend, but rather enjoyed DH not being here for a couple (he and his mates went to Augsburg for the beerfest and a bit of nostalgia). I think I'm going to do a do-over for last week's running training because I'm so not happy with how that went.

Well, my tummy's the last holdout of all those toning efforts, too, which is partly the reason I let DH talk me into joining him for P90X in October. Really, it's becoming an obsession, but I don't see any dang reason why this thing shouldn't tone up like the rest. And no, AGE is not an acceptable apology!!

If you find someone who has some good advice or encouragement on the matter, I'd love to hear about it.

Have a fab day!!

More of a cute glass green, and I haven't found them yet. Wish me luck, going to look one last time, and then call it quits.. Love your blogs.. Drag me to hell was a killer one for me, and also sore buns.. I think I'm going to have to see what "lady bug"is doing and workout along with you.. You are busting your butt.. Drag Me To Hell!

Monday, August 29, 2011

Too cool a workout title not to share, right?

www.bodyrock.tv/2009/11/11/drag-me-t
o-hell-workout/

Just did this and loved it. It consisted of prisoner squats x 20 then 5 pullups (assisted for the non-able, such as myself!) and well whew, i thought the squats were gonna be the major to get through - which yes they were. But even heavily assisted pullups get soooo difficult after 5 rounds or so! Finished on 10 sets for 15 mins so was really pleased, as the other scores posted on the BodyRock site were mainly 6s and 7s. Yay!

Today might as well be a Sunday. The day dragged in work. It was productive though - i've had a long productive weekend.

Didn't really want to workout but came home and once i got started I was fine. I added 5 mins skipping afterwards too - remembering i need to put extra effort in this week, so i plan to add at least 5 mins skip to each workout of the week.

I'm kind of poo at blogging because i always forget to talk about the important stuff that i actually came to blog about! emoticon

Sooo i have a perfectly portioned Indian Daal veggie pot (By Innocent) for dinner, and i'll be taking a nice hot bath before some studying... back to my course in the morning.

Ciao !

*Edit* - My veg pot is that perfectly portioned, I'm getting 3 portions of veg from it, a HUGE 20.1g of FIBRE in it and 10.6g of protein! Score!

As far as blogging consistency goes - I write my best blogs in my head when I'm doing other stuff, anything from housework to walking to getting groceries. Then when I sit down at the computer to write one, can I remember any of the *brilliant* stuff I thought up? LOL!

Re the Indian Daal veggie pot: I don't know this one! Where'd you get it? I WANT one!

Re the course: you're really doing great, kiddo!!!

I love the sound of this workout, but unfortunately i will have to skip this one, as i have no way of doing the pullups (couldnt do them even if i wanted to haaah!). I have been through some of the older workouts and there are some really great ones in there. Its worth sifting through them all. I spent the day doing housework and grocery shopping, and still have more work to look forward to. Love those innocent pots, although i do think they are slightly overpriced. But they are a great meal to grab on the go!

A-Z Getting To Know Me

Sunday, August 28, 2011

Quick update first!

Pullup challenge day three consisted of 4 negative pullups, then the glorious 1 pullup you're supposed to be able to do by now. I was so psyched with this because the negatives are feeling really strong and stable now. Pullup came... and passed me by. I couldn't do it. Not ready for it yet but I'm not giving up. Some more sets of negatives I'm thinking and then another attempt.

Worry Wart

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

I go from extremes of being laaaaaaid back majorly - to a total worry wart. I'm a weirdo - honest!

Got to my course nice and early. Signed in and all that jazz. Why i get so nervous i do not know. It took me ages to decide what to wear... going through my clothes, "no i can't wear that" "shall i wear that?" and i stupidy think, "what will people think if i wear that?" "what assumptions will they make about me if i wear this?".... for crikey's sake!!!

I had a good talk to myself and said "HELLO?! Why do you care what people think?! Just go as YOU, and sod what anyone thinks!" Pfffft. I always worry about looking like a 12 year old when i go to things like this though. I like to dress really casually... and i don't really have dressy up-py clothes... so. So i went as me and i was fine. Stupid!

The course was fine. I don't know why i was so worried. Ok it's only the first day, and my file with information is thicker than a phone book, but it's all.... experience stuff and common sense and then just some dates and extra laws you never knew that i need to remember. I feel a lot better now.

Lunch was great. I had half a white roll with ham on it, half a brown roll with tuna/mayo/sweetcorn on it, and lots of salad. I passed on the crisps and chocolate biscuits. Yay! Enjoyed it too! Only thing that's not great is most of the day is spent in a chair - not moving around heh.

Didn't get home until 6:30pm, but couldn't wait to work out! :) This is good huh? LOL. Ok this was a short and quick blog, haha. Now i'm getting a bath, getting some study time in, oh eating a small pasta meal for dinner, and then sleepy sleep ready for another day of learning!

I worry about a lot of that too, especially when I start my internship in Italy. In the end though how you dress is only just a very small factor in what people get to know and love.

Nifty that the course worked out so much better than you'd thought! As ex- Sergeant Major Hintgen, my old IT boss, used to say: it's all good! emoticon

One thing I first suspected, then tested on several occasions and now can confidently say is 100% true: people are NOT observant of others in a casual setting (i.e. when not competing directly). They not only don't care about you that much, they don't even NOTICE things that you worry might be huge issues.

I'll be thinking of you while I sweat over my second ball workout later today...

Pooped

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Yeh I am really k-nackered. Without the silent K. ;)

I've been tired all day long. I would usually totally skip working out when feeling like this but i didn't give myself the time to think. *score*

Got changed and did Sulfababy's KICK START workout www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
urnal_individual.asp?blog_id=4437034
and did put all the effort i could manage into it - even though my scores were low. Balance issues with that one. I'll have to maybe do it again a few times, see how i can improve.

Also added on the end the first day of a new challenge i have taken on with PENFOLDROCKS, "The Twenty Pullup Challenge" which was a simple set of some negative pullups. Slowly does it! The link for that is here. twentypullups.com/node/10 Good fun!

Right, it's almost 9pm, i really do need to get to bed... big day ahead. First day of my course! Nerrrves!!! OH yeah - and my itinerary says they provide lunch and drinks. Here's my chance to be sensible and prove to myself i can do this at times like this. Bring on the challenge!

Make sure you bring at least a healthy snack, in case the lunch isn't, well, healthy. It's all good stuff. emoticon

Well, you know even Zuzana emphasizes form over quantity, so well done! If you had balance issues, that gives you a new area to challenge yourself in (something I think you need no lessons in, ha!).

Looks like I have some catching up to do for the BodyRocking and Sulfa's workouts, which look totally awesome and seriously sweat-inducing! Bring it!!
