Just a quickie.
Abs were sore today and feeling it... wasn't sure whether i'd get my scheduled abs workout in after my cardio tonight... BUT, i pushed through it. I don't know HOW but i just thought to myself "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THIS?"... no pain no gain. Some good old self talk and self motivation. I think it even stopped hurting for a while. This is what it's all about.
I have 300 straight crunches in for the week already. Part of the challenge complete by Wednesday - what's that all about? I DID NOT expect to be able to do this so quickly, sooo i plan to push for more on Friday, for luck! 120 twist crunches and 120 elbow to knee. So 30 each left to do of those to complete challenge. Oh and i'm upto 210 with the pushups (Those are feeling HARD this week too)... which i think might be over the goal for the week? lol!

Talking about being on a roll - i was on a roll with my abs workout tonight!!
I'm so happy with January... i just wanna give it a big ol' hug and a big wet kiss. I would thank January - but it's not January that did this is it? It's because *i* took charge. Just like each and every one of us CAN DO.... if we want it, and if we want it bad. We can TAKE CHARGE of our actions and PUSH for what we want. Hell yeah. So.... thanks *me* for really trying this month, haha, i have showed myself what i can do.
I had a small 35mins cardio tonight, working my legs after yesterdays long walk. It felt good and i could feel the muscles working some more. Then i had my abs workout. I have challenged myself (Plug: FITJEANS - Get me - i'm taking your advice and CHALLENGING MYSELF... just like you do every day! =D) and a good friend from the TORTURE CHAMBER is joining me on the challenge (Plug: ANGELWINGS - oh yeah we're doing it!!) to do 300 crunches, 150 twist crunches and 150 elbow to knee crunches this week. Well i am so pleased to say i was ON A ROLL during this workout and i have under my belt for this week already....
oh and 30 mod pushups in there. And plank, and some back extensions to even it out a bit. Much more than expected tonight, PHEW!
Funny thing is, i ended up doing a lot more crunches than planned. I don't know how it came about but was talking with my darling after i'd finished (or so i thought) and i asked him to stand on my tummy on my abs. I used to do this back in the day with my friend. He stood on me for a while and was impressed i could hold him haha. Then i got an idea and asked him to sit on my abs. So with my little rest i had a burst and knocked out 30 crunches with him sitting on my abs - woo! That's 153lbs on my abs whilst crunching, LOL! That's another achievement btw - i've NEVER weighed less than him, and NOW i do! Yay!! Anywho i was on a roll!!
Just had a trout fillet filled with spinach and ricotta and a mix of carrot/courgette/sweetcorn/peas... yums! I am full up!
One last thing i wanted to mention. I think i am starting to feel and see my progress this month...i feel a little smaller in my skin, in my body, if that makes sense? I got down to do pushups tonight and my arms looked leaner.... i was doing squats and i felt that my legs were leaner... i don't know whether this is just the endorphins or inner confidence... i'm doing a whole measure up at the end of the month so i'll compare , i think my last measures were the end of October.
I'm just so pleased with my efforts right now.

I am very pleased to be entering the last week of January with my head held high. I've had a really fantastic month - i couldn't have asked for it to be any better. Well, let's not get too far ahead - it isn't over yet haha. I lost 2lbs today so i am over the moon and very very happy. I walked into town with my husband today (we walked over 4 miles there and back) and now we're pretty sore. I've eaten fruit and cereals today and bought some funky tops for my Honeymoon. Funky tops i never thought i'd be able to wear... they're fitted t-shirts, cute small ones i only ever thought i'd see on skinny people walking past me... and now, now I get to wear one too!! Not that my goal was to wear something skinny people can, but it's so nice to shop in normal shops, the nice designer shops i would look in the window at.... now i am standing in line waiting to purchase something i really like! Woo!!
So the general feeling of today is just total happiness and lots of confidence. I feel great. And i know that it's down to all my effort, into thinking about what i'm eating - thinking why i am eating it, exploring my taste buds and trying new recipes, AND on the other side, pushing myself in ways i didn't know i could physically - i pushed for 300 pushups last week and WOW, this is huge for me!! Also on the cardio front... i have been kicking my own butt - and totally loving it!!!
Let's go January, let's see out January with a BANG to 2011. I have 2lbs left to reach my goal... maybe i will be at my goal weight - in a healthy BMI, to begin the month of February!
