Staying active.

Thursday, January 17, 2013

My adjustment to a new way of eating is getting better. Now I start adding activities and exercise to daily life.
- 1 hour at the gym: yoga, cross-training on even days. Interval cardio training and lift weight on odd days.
- Activities: Start cutting down on sitting times. Keep moving, cleaning .
-squat 100/day challenge.

Day 9th

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Lost around 4 lbs on vegetarian diet. Just wanted to test my will power and jump start my weight loss:). This was the first time I was able to stick to the veggie diet for more than 2 days. People told me that this should not be a diet, but a life style change, and I totally agreed. I want to be able to have a normal relationship with food again. I don't want to reach out for food when I am feeling anxious, or angry.
As for this week, I start adding more grain and other non veggies protein sources in small amount. I stay clear from processed food as much as possible. I am learning to cook those meatless meals, so plant base meals will appear more interesting. I am trying this: rotating meatless meals and other type of meals. Plenty of veggies will be included whether it is veggies meal or not.
This is trial and error period. I have to figure out a plan that will work best for me .
Thank you for the support from this page.

Day 3

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

Weight: 138.6
This vegetarian diet has been working well for me so far
I have been experiencing some tiredness and anxiety at times probably because of the sudden diet change. My main concern with this diet is: low calories intake, lack of some important vitamin, not enough protein, don't have enough energy for working out.
I will add tofu, beans thru out the day
Load up my veggies.
Portion control still is important. Most of the time, I will eat a palm size and eat more often
I have made the commitment to stick with a strict vegetarian diet until I reach my weight of 127 lbs, then I think I will switch to a little more flexible diet.
I really want to make it work this time. I really do! And I am willing to work hard and challenge myself to get there.
This year is about change. I want positive change: my feeling, how I think and act, and lead a positive healthy life style.

Once and for all

Sunday, January 06, 2013

Just get really tired of dieting. Seems like I would lose around 5 lbs and gained them back again. The thing I noticed was as soon as I let myself strayed away from my program, I gained weight immediately. There is no other way around to loose weight.
After reading blogs from a sparkpeople friend, I havelearned that loosing and maintaining weight is a serious commitment. You have to keep a record of what you eat daily, you have to weight daily, eat a lot less and move more. Accepting yourself is also important. I was too easy on myself when it comes to working hard to achieve my goals.
So this time, I will try things differently:
1) I will change to vegetarian diet , no meats or dairy product until I learn to control my portions.
2) Control portions
3) Practice mindful eating
4) Keep a record of what I eat daily.
5) Cardio, yoga, and strength training.
6) Keep active through out the day
7) Weight myself daily.
8) Plan daily for food and activities.
I want to show my children that I can do it, and make an example how working hard and determination will help you to achieve what you want.

Hi there...remember to have fun along the way too! There are alot of steps to the process but pick exercise activities that you like too for mix-ups!! One important thing I have to remember is that this is long term and there will be times you slip! Forgive yourself, dust off and get back in the game! Have a great week!! emoticon

I would suggest just a couple different approaches. First don't look at it as a diet, it is truly a lifestyle change. You will have to change your habits forever or gain back the weight, and 2cd, I would recommend weighing only once a week at the most. Our weight fluctuates way to much from day to day and you may find this way to frustrating to meeting your goals.
Good luck on your journey! Your goals will take you far! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today is the day!

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

So, today is the day! Everything has the beginning. I ve tried to loose weight for the last uhmmmmm 12years. Its hard and its even harder once you get older. I understand now that i have to be more vigilant bout my diet, but also not to give up if I don't adhere to my diet . All the effort , trials and errors starts to show the results. I ve lost 7 lbs . I now can wear some nice clothes in size 7. My body gets stronger, too. Now is my 2nd round: My plan is to stay very focus. I will record everything I eat, have a meal plan, and try to eat nutritiously. Everyday I will spend total of 2hours for trainings. And keep moving. I also will go to bed early. Every evening i will sit down and evaluate my day.
Life is difficult. Kids can make it chaotic. But at the end, I owe it to myself to treat myself with up most regard!
Today is a new day! Fresh with no mistake:)
