Still Going

Tuesday June 11th

Well a lot has happened over the course of this last year and its been the reason I have been away from SP. The main thing is I moved. I am now in Minnesota where my husband was born and raised. Most people asked why I would leave Oregon and come here, but I haven't regretted it yet!!

I have fallen off track with healthy living. Its scary how easy it is to fall back into old routines. I started the "Fat Flush Program" (8 days ago, actually!) At this point I am just participating in the cleanse. I didn't realize (or rather I ignored) how many toxins I was putting in my body. This cleanse has been very good for me so far. I do suffer from some headaches but I already notice looser jeans and smoother functioning joints.

Well, now that I am settled and my daughter isn't doing online school (taking up the computer all day) I will be able to get back to SP and keep up with the good habits. I do track my food but I have an app on my phone for that.

There's my update... just as it is! Have a great day :)

Be careful with those "fad" weight loss plans! They are very dangerous! You are probably having headaches because you are lacking in nutrition and dehydrated. Please be careful! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Week 56

I've been idle for quite awhile now. I finally got the courage to try my local gym. It went well and I have a friend who is going with me. Then I get to work and someone makes cookies and then a customer brings us in more. They set it right next to my work station. WHY????!!!!!

I wish I didn't have to deal with food addiction. I always thought it was just a character flaw but I am noticing its a real issue that I have to deal with. UGH.. I don't want to, but I realized how important it is for me to stay tracking my food. Now I realize its super important that I am upfront about my issue.

I thought getting this far into my weight loss journey would be way different than this, but because I didn't make to choices I should have been - here I am. Thankfully I still feel like I am on this journey and I will keep pressing on.

I just joined SP team 4weeks to curb sugar. Hopefully this is a starting point for me to get to where I need to be.

I know it's tough when people thoughtlessly leave tempting treats nearby, but I usually find that the treats rarely taste as good as they look. Try to distract yourself with a cup of coffee with a flavored cream. It tastes awesome and it is far fewer calories.

Week 38

I really enjoy reading blogs that are on peoples milestones. I like to get see what they have accomplished, and what they consider accomplishments. Recently I read one and this gal is celebrating her 1 year sparkiversary. She had lost 35lbs and had an awesome list of things she can do now that she couldn't then.

I have really been beating myself up because I am not losing as fast as I want. However, I have 3 more months until its my one year. I have already lost 30lbs, and have a list I could write.

So, this second half of the BLC, I am keeping focused on the goal of 3 months. I want a 1 year sparkiversary that I know I earned!

Ginny, no one loses as fast as they think they should, don't beat yourself up. Losing 30 lbs so far is an awesome amount, be proud! Stay on track and I'll be doing the Snoopy Dance with you!

Nice to read this. February 25th will be my 1 year and I have also lost 30 pounds. I always thought it would happen faster than this! It's sort of frustrating, but I have lost this time! This is the best I've ever done with weight loss.

Thanks for the blog.

Week 35

I'm just going to share the story of when I won something!! November 2009

My DH is from Minnesota but hadn't been back there in 5 years since one of his brothers funeral. So every time we would play Keno (hopefully you know, cause I'm not sure how to explain it!) I would say lets see if we are going to Minnesota. So after my shift (at a pub I worked at) I was waiting for my DH (BF at the time) to finish playing pool. So I decided to play Keno. I played 7spot since I never play it and I told him lets pick numbers we have never played before. So he picked, then I did, then he did... On the 7th number I told him on the count of 3 say your number and we will see if we picked the same one! He picked 75 and I picked 76. HA! So we 'paper-rock-scissor' and he won. Sure enough on the next round we hit ALL the numbers. I was playing the 7spot (which the 6, 7, 8, all have rolling jackpots). I turned to him and said We are going to Minnesota!! He started crying - it was the sweetest moment ever.

So $7200 later, we had tune ups, new tires, a washer and dryer for me (we didn't live together), bills paid for the month, a bit in savings and a trip to Minnesota! My first plane ride and unknowingly to us - the first time I got to meet my future family-in-law.

Week 34

Just when I think things are starting to get in order SOMETHING happens. I am a person of schedule and I feel like I really have things down and now I have to mess it all up again.

I shouldn't be whining though. I got a job. I wasn't looking, in fact I really don't want to work. Raising 3 kids and being a wife is a full time job. Unfortunately, in this economy we need the extra $$ and when this job presented itself I couldn't resist. Its the perfect schedule, it'll be awesome experience, and its only a few minute walk from my house.

I'm kind of amazing that I can turn whining into bragging. Its just one of my many talents.

As cheap as I feel right now, I got my 5 points for posting a blog. (Yea, I'm kinda competitive too!)

I like that you started out whining and turned it into a victory.

This part time job might do more for you than you ever imagine.
