Altered Focus

I dread weighing in tomorrow because I've been cheating and I know I have only lost one pound this week! But, here's the thing! I have exercised for at least 15 minutes EVERY day for the last two weeks...I want to see the results of that on the scale, but I've been reading other blogs, articles, and people's comments on the forums, and I've come to realize I must not focus only on the scale. Today has been a productive day--I spent part of it with a friend, and for a person who has become very sedentary and isolated, this is a triumph! So, I'll focus on the triumphs today and maybe next week the scale will get the picture! emoticon

  


Not bad for a 'tired' day

I'm tired today--my bones even ache! But I managed to cook--all lunches for the week are prepared, all snacks counted out in their little bags...so I can look forward to a week of success. ( I did manage to do my 7 day bootcamp video and 12 minutes on the Gazelle) And tomorrow I probably won't be tired!

Even When I Don't Want To...

I have always followed my feelings...mostly my laziness...when I didn't feel like getting up and moving I didn't. And I really didn't feel like getting up and moving tonight. I had already blown the calorie count by adding 1/2 bag of chocolate chips to my snack count...so why bother?? But I'm doing the 28 day bootcamp and I missed last night's video because I couldn't get down on the floor (and that whole video is done on the floor!), so I didn't really want to go two days in a row without doing my video. I know that leads to a very fast downward spiral. So I got myself up out of the chair and was just going to do the video--couldn't hurt and wouldn't take long. I did it and then went ahead to add 20 minutes of cardio on my gazelle! So, after making a few bad choices, I ended the day with a couple good choices and I feel much better about myself going to bed!

Biggest Loser Inspires Me

I started (again) on 12/31/10. That means that today is day #4. I have managed to do my bootcamp video every day and then I added some cardio each day, as well. I think I did 8 minutes the first day, 10 the second, 15 yesterday and today I just finished 20 minutes on my gazelle! I feel fabulous! While I was on the gazelle tonight, I was watching The Biggest Loser-Where Are They Now? I was so inspired to keep on keeping on!

New Year Resolutions--Again!

Every year on January 1, I make a resolution to get the weight off, to feel better about myself and, at the end of the year--which goes entirely too fast--I am no better off than last year! Sometimes I'm worse off than last year. Something has to stop the cycle! I know the saying: "If you keep doing the same thing you've been doing, you'll keep getting the same thing you've been getting." (or something like that)

Although I feel a year older (or maybe 10) and creakier in the joints, I need to break the cycle of doing the same thing and getting more of the same. This is the day! Just today! And then I'll tackle it again tomorrow. God, give me the motivation to keep going.

    emoticon First and foremost you found SP and have started the already break the cycle. Logging your food intake is the biggest help to me along with the (dreaded) exercise. If you ever start to feel a bit discouraged~~~dont be afraid to turn to your team-mates or SP friends as we are all her for you. We want you to succeed as much as we want ourselves too. emoticon emoticon

That said, it sounds like your goals may be a bit broad. Maybe it would be a bit less intimidating/more motivating if you broke it into smaller chunks like losing at least X inches or telling yourself at least X positive things about your body each day?
