appreciate your suggestions....

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

We are traveling 3,388 miles in October.....the going fuel rate cost is $2.35 - $2.60 all the way from Texas to Pennsylvania.....we get 17 miles to the gallon in our full size 2000 Chevy van....but I am told that loaded down with luggage, we will probably get 15.

I have "map-quested" our journey, and their calculated fuel cost is $450 round trip. Do you find Map-Quest to be a reliable site? I checked out AAA site and they said it would be $520 - $550.....for us, that is a difference we certainly want to be prepared for. emoticon

I am organized and prepared for the journey....just a few loose ends like this one need tying up...our trip will be from October 6th through October 16th.

{{ Any tips, advice or suggestions for me? }}

I Appreciate YOU!! ~ Laura

I would say it is better to error on the higher side than the lower.

Go with AAA, or average the two.

fearlessly entering the Autumn season Strong!

Thursday, September 09, 2010

....It's been a little over a week since I last blogged.....

I am doing quite well. Yes, I really have found my groove because I can't wait to exercise daily now! I just LOVE Quick Firing to praise/worship DVD's!!! The fitness routines ROCK!!!!

I am thriving in my "no sugar" perspective...it's a strong way to enter the Fall season ....a season chalk-full of holidays with holiday foods screaming at me. LOL!
I am on day 18 today of the No Sugar Challenge. Faithfulness is paying off. I am able to attend numerous church potlucks, parties, lots of get-to-gethers and leave the sweets alone. For me it is just better not to touch it....it always gets me started..... I just despise feeling like I could eat a whole pan of brownies...I am not a one brownie kind of gal. I don't like that uncontrollable feeling. It's not worth it to me. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Last week I lost 3#, and I have held that loss this week. I hope to drop more soon!
I lost 1" last month, and really hope to drop more inches in September. I plan to!

My stats are:

*** Stats ***
Abs: 27.5"
Waist: 27.5"
Bust: 34.5"
Hips: 39"
Glutes: 39"
Thigh: 18"
Bicep: 11.5"

You are inspiring me with the "no sugar" thing. I did that once with great success. Did not drink a soda for a year. I know I can "do it again"!!!!

I have a picture of Jesus laughing. Never seen one like yours. It's all part of being human.

Thanks for sharing your success. It's contagious.

....I found my groove!

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

I have noticed that I want to exericse longer when I am doing it to Praise and Worship Music....in Particular....this album: Michael W. Smith - A New Hallelujah!

I can go on and on....increasing my intensity -- it is Amazing!!! Time just escapes me!! It is only after, that I realize just how intense the routine was!! I LOVE it! I am totally drenched.

I have truly Found my Groove!! LOL!! ...I use hand weights off and on, working the whole body and no breaks either....very much like the Shred. I do squat thrusts, lots of plank workouts, way too many jump jacks and double jacks, push up planks, oblique twists, lots of ab routines and even difficult Pilates moves as well as a warm up and cool down.....It is AWESOME! What makes the difference is that I feel I am at a Praise Concert, and my mind is so filled with laughter and worship that I lose track of time.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I could do this forever....for a lifetime! So, this is my adopted lifestyle choice of fitness! LOL!

I truly hope you find yours as it makes the journey enjoyable!

{{the enemy has been defeated!}}

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

....Just google this powerful song on YouTube -- Michael W. Smith - Shout Unto God (Live).....and Be Blessed!! LOL!!!!!! Shout to Him as you worship Him!

I am lifting my voice in Victory and declaring that the enemy is defeated in my Life once again...I Praise The Lamb!!!! ....I am laughing as I type.... =)
I laugh in the presence of darkness for my Jesus is with me in darkness and His light shines in darkness and lifts up my head above my enemies. My cup runs over as I trust His heart for me....His purpose may not be clear in the beginning of a challenge, But Hold On....He will ride it out with you - that's a Promise!

Thank You Jesus for the challenges, the testings, the warfare you allow us to walk through from time to time.......You are ALWAYS in Control! You never give us anything we cannot handle if we walk after Your Spirit...Romans 8:1
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have been fasting different meals, eating less on the whole, quick firing like a maniac (LOL!) and resting in the Presence of Jesus as well as crying out to Him ....seeking His Heart.....clinging to Him....my life depends on Him!
...and in this time I have already lost 2# and feel energized through his Spirit and my obedience in this sugar challenge( day 9 today!)....self-discipline in one area of your life tends to flow in other areas too....I Praise Him!

Those of you who are being tested right now....Hold On!....He is faithful ....keep clinging and trust His heart for you! You are of Great Value to the King!!
Wait on Him and just see what He has in store for you!

love ~ Laura, His servant

Held by Christ

Monday, August 30, 2010

I am teary-eyed as I write.....

I wish life were a little more normal right now, but my life hid in Christ is really "The Great Adventure"....so I embrace Christ and His plan completely......LOL! I am holding on!! What a ride!

the truth is... there is a lot of stress in my life right now and other priorities are pushing to be first place on my list at the moment ....priorities that come before a "fitness challenge". I just realized today that I cannot do everything. Unfortunatley, I have made the choice to opt out of the 30Day Shred for now.
I am still sticking with the sugar challenge as it is great for me!..on day 8 today!

On a more positve note, I am still exercising because fitness is a part of my lifestyle. I will still be doing squat thrusts, jump jacks, double jump ropes, plank twists and all of those goodies that Jillian Michaels expects! - these moves are So effective! I will keep them in my daily Quick Fires!

I just cannot handle the increased intensity in the 30DS that the challenge requires....and how deflated I am when I miss a day and have to go back and make it up......due to the storm I am in once again.....

I am fasting today and praying as if my life depended on it....and it does!!...of course! We cannot choose what circumstances come our way every day, but we CAN choose how we respond. So I choose to bend when the wind blows, and be flexible when God allows His challenge to shape me. I am His and He is mine.
I wouldn't have it any other way.....I have been worshipping Him today and rejoicing in His Presence....I am truly Held by Him. PTL!

always appreciate your prayers ~ Laura

Laura, Thank you for this blog. I love your transparency and allowing us to see straight through to a heart filled with Jesus. I know backing away from the DVD was a hard decision. I have "beat myself up" for not being able to finish what I started. What a wrong attitude for me to have...thank you for reminding me that whatever is happening, especially when it's out of our control, we are held in the hands of our Father. The prayers for you and yours will not cease. Keep leaning into His arms...rest in His love for you. Love the words to "Oh How He Loves"~He is jealous for me..Love like a hurricane..I am a tree...bending beneath the wieght of His wind and mercy...OH, How He loves us SO!

What a challenging, inspirational blog. Praying God will bring you through this storm a stronger woman for him. I have heard it said that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger; and so much the more true when we have God by our side through the storm. Your anchor is in the right place. Blessings, blessings and more blessings.

God truly makes His presence known to us when we reach out to Him and spend time with Him. God will see you through your storm in your life and wants us to draw near to Him as we depend on Him. Sometimes our own plans aren't what God intended for us and we will find His plans for us as He directs and guides us. May you rest in His peace and love.

Yes, Friend, you are in His hands, and no one can snatch you away! Hold tight, for He is holding tight to you. I think all of us who are 'Sparked' must beware of the danger of letting THIS become an idol in our lives -- we must use the tools God gives us for HIS glory, not our own. In the grand scheme of things, the 30DS is not a biggie -- and God is going to honor your desire to choose healthy habits. He will complete the good work He has begun in you! Keep on walking with Him and trusting Him, and reminding us to do the same! You are in my prayers!! emoticon

    Laura:
Your blog reminded me of the song, "Held." Yes, we are His and He is ours. I truly believe that God brings us closer to Him when life stresses out. Then we easily turn to Him. So, we will praise Him in the storm. I am certainly doing that right now too. May God get our obedience and our trust as we daily lean into His everlasting arms. Today and EVERY DAY I will choose Christ! Follwing Christ and His will is a choice we make.
I will be praying for you daily.
