The lady who gave this talk is a counselor at a local Christian counselling agency. She had her therapy dog, Boo, with her. He is a black lab and is VERY SWEET! She said "You can control only 10 percent of your life.....90 percent you cannot change." Think life, death, physical problems........so the thing is - we need to let go of what is not under our control!
She talked about "stinkin' thinkin' - when we do this, it depletes the good stuff in our brains.
She talked about being in a crazy zone.......and it's not the big stuff that puts us there - but the little stuff! Stay out of the crazy zone........give up trying to control what you cannot control. GIve it to God.
Above all - protect your 10 percent. Use a healthy YES or NO.
That's it......I'm DONE with the women's conference - and if I have bored you, I'm sorry. I just enjoyed the conference so much and wanted to share it! vista

One of our greatest possession is 24 hrs each day. The presenter's favorite day is Monday - she says that's a fresh, new start. She also says not to be a slave to the computer or the phone. Pick a time (7 a.m. or 7 p.m.) to return calls. In the a.m. - people are getting ready to go to work and don't have time to talk; and in the p.m. you're interrupting their dinner time - either will be cut short!
You can control your time. You can control your purse.....just a small way to take control. You can clean just one drawer - another small step. Organize your "to do" list into priorities. Some may never get done.....and that's ok!

I've been reading about Kooch passing away. It reminded me of another topic we had at the Women's Conference. The lady - name Diane Cunningham - talked about having an airplane crash and surviving it. She said: "Winds happen.....never hold back love. Treasure each day in life."
I hope that Kooch lived this way - expecting winds, never holding back love, and treasuring each day she had on this earth.
Rest in peace.
