Good News At The Doctor Today

I'm back from the dr. And the numbers are ...drum roll, please .... good!

Cholesterol 215 down from 221
Triglycerides 313 down from 346
HDL 40 down from 41
LDL CHOL, Calculated 112 up from 111
A1c 6.3 down from 6.9

Plus I was down 8 pounds from my last visit.

The dr is thrilled and says we can start decreasing meds if the numbers are better in 4 month.

YIPPIE !!!!

Part of these good numbers is the addition of Byetta. And I know that most of the good numbers are because of Spark People !!!!

    Isn't it great to see those kind of results? Sounds like you are totally motivated again. I think that is what I like about the new year. Laying down all the bad habits, and starting with a clean slate. My goal is "70 in 07" I expect to be at goal by this time next year!

So what did you think about Nancy Pelosi taking over today?

Partnership With Susan

Susan and I decided that we are going to get together every Tuesday and go over the Spark 31 Resolution Calendar.

We each got notebooks from the mailroom and are going to write everything down there. I will also use this blog to track my progress.

My very specific resolutions are as follows:

I will use the treadmill for 20 minutes 5 days a week.

I will go to one hot yoga class a week and one regular vinyassa class.

I will journal my food and exercise every day.

I will loose 5 pounds in the month of January.

Another day, week, month and year. Another new start.

With 2 family weddings coming up soon it's time to knuckle down and get this weight off.

I'll be hitting the gym again tomorrow morning and doing my cardio with gusto.

I'm planning on using my blog to write about the goals on the Sparks calendar that was on the site last week. So here goes for the first one.

My goal is to loose 5 pounds a month until I reach my goal weight. 5 pounds is very doable. I find that the slower I loose the more it stays off.

I will also be at the Allied gym 4 days a week doing cardio and stregnth training.

I will be at 2 yoga classes at the Plainview studio a week and 2 classes in Huntington a month.

I will drink 9 glasses of water a day.

I will keep my blood sugar levels in check by not eating what I shouldn't eat.

I will eat 6 small meals a day and not 3 large meals.

I WILL DO THIS !!!!!!

Post Thanksgiving - Pre Christmas

The holiday rush has officially started. And the overeating season is in full swing.

I'm trying my best to watch what I eat. I know that I can avoid any empty calories by avoiding the drinks. No problem. I'd rather eat my calories than drink them.

The cookie baking will supress my sugar craving. Smelling all that sugar will stop me from eating them. The big challenge will be the salty snacks at gatherings. I'm a sucker for chips and dips. Celery and carrots just don't cut it.

This year I am determined to make it through the holidays without gaining any weight. I will not let my inner brat win !!!

    Just checkin' in to say hi. Looks like you have a plan for the Christmas season. I am determine to break 200 by New Years...and trying not to waiver. Gained a few over Thanksgiving weekend. Can't get that out of control again.

Going back to yoga this Sunday, for the first time since last December. Wow, a whole year since the knee injury...and what a year! I'll think of you as I am breathing, stretching and balancing...

Great music

I'm going over my music for working out. And for the office. It's time to change things up a little. Maybe if I'm not too tired after yoga tonight I'll sit down and go through everything.

Music is important to me. I need to hear it all day at work. I need to hear it in the gym. I'm going to put together an all upbeat playlist on my iPod.
