Happy Hump Day All!

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

It's Wednesday, and Day 3 of my SP transformation journey.

In spite of the fact that I had a forced rest day yesterday with back still tender and ankle tweaked I'm still seeing and feeling positive results just by keeping the food tight. So I'm not feeling nearly as frustrated this morning as I was yesterday afternoon! A nice win!

Food is planned in the tracker for the day, and I'm feeling good so it looks like my scheduled workout is in the cards - yeaaaahh! I just feel so much better when I get those workouts in! I have my trusty glass of ice water by my side, and my commitment is set for the day!

But first, I am off to the grocery story to stock up on lean protein and lots of healthy veggies and fruits!

Wishing you all a healthy, happy, active kinda' day! emoticon

A Fun Goal

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

So today is Day 2 of my SP Transformation Journey. So far so good, LOL!

My food is planned for the day, I've had a healthy breakfast and 3 cups of water already, and my scheduled workout is a 1.5 mile walk and yoga - my back is still a little tender, but getting better, and I think today's workout is doable and will give me another "easy" day to recover. Then it's P90X tomorrow, baby! emoticon

Although I usually do well with getting my daily scheduled workout in I work from home and so I sit at a desk a lot during the day and then usually collapse on the couch in the evening to unwind with some mindless tv/movie watching. I knew I needed to be more active than that one exercise session a day, so my niece and I have challenged each other to do the "First Step Domestic Violence 5k" in Coshocton, Ohio on April 20th. It gives me a reason to get out of the house and walk each day in addition to my normal strength, cardio, and flexibility workouts. Yeaaaahhh! emoticon

So I'm on track and I have a fun new goal to focus on to keep me putting one foot in front of the other and making progress!

I would love to hear what kind of mini-goals you all set to keep yourself motivated and moving forward? emoticon

I love this blog post! Boy can I relate to working at home and ending the day horizontal!

Your 5K plan is inspiring. What a great cause! It's so important to have 'fun' goals and activities to keep you going.

Day 1 ~ P.M.

Monday, February 18, 2013

So today has gone pretty good. An extra piece or two of dark chocolate which I hadn't planned on, but I recorded it to keep myself honest.

Other than that my food has been healthy, and I got my scheduled 1.5 mile walk in. The sun was shining, so I absorbed some good old vitamin D, win-win, and the dog loved being out and about!

Back's still twinge-ing a bit, but not too bad, so just taking it one step at a time.

Water is on track.

Overall a good day, and I'm excited to be back in the game! And I am lovin' SparkPeople and all the amazing people I have been blessed to connect with here! emoticon

I would love to hear how everyone else's day has gone! Please feel free to share in the comments! emoticon

Day 1 - A.M.

Monday, February 18, 2013

emoticon Today is officially Day 1 of being back on track and tracking my food and fitness through SparkPeople.

I sat down last night and made a food plan in the nutrition tracker to be sure I was within my suggested calories and nutrients. So I have a plan of action in place and started the day with healthy whole oats, wild blueberries and sunflower seeds. Water intake is on track, although I don't usually struggle with that too much.

I had Zumba on my fitness calendar for today, but my lower back has been twinge-ing the past two days and although it seems better today I don't want to push it and re-injure so I'm going to walk and stretch today to loosen things up a bit and then get back to my regularly scheduled workouts tomorrow if all seems good.

I had already made up my mind yesterday when my back was really giving me fits that even if I couldn't work out at all today I was committed to staying on track with the healthy eats! In the past I have let not being able to workout completely derail me and put me off my food plan and I'm determined not to repeat that same mistake again! emoticon

Wishing fun, active, and healthy things for all you SparkPeople peeps, today!

New Motivation

Sunday, February 17, 2013

So I blogged yesterday about how I had recently taken off 17 pounds but then fell off the wagon and eats have been completely out of control, and how as a result I was afraid to face the scale and see what kind of damage I had done.

Well this morning as I was getting out of bed my eyes fell on the scale in the corner and I decided to be brave and face the music.

Yes, I have regained some of what I lost, but I'm still down 8.8 pounds from my start weight so I hadn't completely derailed all my hard work and seeing that has renewed my motivation to get back on track and heading in the right direction again!

It just goes to show that what we fear, in this case the number on the scale, is rarely as bad as what we have imagined it will be, and that facing what we need to face and taking some form of inspired action from that is far better than sitting and commiserating.

So that's my wee-bit-o-wisdom for the day, LOL! Hope you all are on track or conquering your fears so you can get back to good again!

Enjoy a beautiful and gratitude-filled Sunday! :D

Thank you so much for yours words of wisdom! It's just what I needed to hear, as I'm presently doing the EXACT same thing. You've motivated me to get back on the scale tomorrow and face the music.

You have a great attitude and focusing on what you've accomplished will get you to your goals!

8 pounds is a good start. At least you have that. And your getting your groove back, that's the most important thing. emoticon
