According to the dictionary, one meaning of consistency is a steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc.
Unfortunately, my name isn't listed next to this definition. I have not been consistently Sparking, consistently exercising, consistently avoiding the wrong food or consistently keeping my goals before my eyes.
Fortunately, there are thousands of other words in the dictionary. I happen to have found one that better describes me: persistent. One meaning of persistent is "constantly repeated; persisting especially in spite of opposition."
You see, I may have quit sparking many times and I may have quit exercising many more times, but one thing is for sure...I never give up. Despite the fact that 25 lbs extra pounds are still lingering on my body, pounds that I have vowed time & time again to get rid of, no matter how many times I stop & start over, I will not be denied the health and ideal weight that I desire.
It's always a good day to start over. Why not today? Why not right now?
So, today I dusted off my Sparkpeople.com password, tracked my food intake, dranks lots of water, spun the Spark points wheel and committed to my daughter that I would do P90X with her after I got off work.
Tomorrow, I just have to do the same thing. And the next day, the same thing.
How 'bout we take this thing one day, one meal, one workout and one pound at a time. Ok, maybe 2 or 3 pounds at a time would be better, but you get the idea.
I just have to be persistent with being consistent and I'll be well on my way to meeting my goal. Let's do this thing, shall we?

Ok. Wow! I just did day 1 of week 4 of Spark Your Way to 10k. It went like this:
Walk 2 minutes @ 3.5mph; Run 3 minutes @5mph x 10. It is a lot tougher than it sounds. I ended up walking a little slower (3.3) and a couple of times I took my running speed down to 4.8 to recover.
I finished it for today!! It turned out to be 3.75 miles and burned 500 calories.
Running is not for the wimpy and I'm no wimp.

What do you do when you haven't eaten near enough calories for the day and it is already evening time?
I've had this issue a few times lately, as this last college semester comes to a close, because I've been so busy studying. I was at the library today for several hours and I took snacks, but didn't really eat them. I wasn't hungry! But I'm so far behind in calories, I've only eaten half and that is with eating a small dinner.
Any advice? I don't want to eat if I'm not hungry, but I also know if I don't eat enough, my body may think I'm starving it. I don't want to lose any momentum.
Let me know your thought, please.
