BLC22 Goals

BLC22 runs June 5th through August 28th. I have 12 weeks to lose 25lbs which is the goal is set for myself.

Each month i will set my monthly goals.

My June goals are to:
- walk/jog at least 80 miles...12.67 as of 6/5
- ST 4x a week
- Cardio 4x a week
- workout video (Bob Harper) 3x a week
- Stay within calorie range
- Drink my water

Here are my weight-loss goals for the BLC22:
269.4lbs...STARTING WI June 5th

    ok answering your question...The suit is by tribal $150.00...yea ouch...lol....as for sleep....I slept from 11pm to 5am this morning...lol...PLENTY of sleep for me...LOL...I sleep around 4 to 6 hours a day...thats all my body requires..I've always been like that....BUT once in awhile I will have days I sleep 10 hours...lol

BLC22: Pink Vikings - Weapons of Mass Reduction START

Tomorrow the ship sets sail! I am so honored to be co-captain once again...leading my team, the Weapons of Mass Reduction, onto victory! lol

Weight:
I've allowed my weight to fluctuate. I say allowed because i know good and well the crap i place into my mouth. AND i know what i should be eating and drinking. So it's time to...

EAT CLEAN

Fitness:
After my last half marathon my fitness has been spotty at best. I took out my notebook and planned each day of June. I will do the same for July and August and so on...

TRAIN DIRTY

Goals:
My June goals are to:
-walk/jog at least 80 miles

Nutrition...Running...5k Goal...and New LBD for the Wedding!

As many of you know i purchased a dress for a friends wedding that is in September. I bought the dress in a size 18 thinking that i would have to lose about 30lbs to get into it. Well...it fit. Not as nicely as i'd like, but it still fit. What that did to me was allow myself to slack a bit knowing i didn't have to work as hard at losing the weight and/or toning up.

So i decided i needed the challenge. I went out and bought a NEW dress...in a size 16! WOW!!!! Now it's time to work!

In my last blog i wrote out how i was going to start up the weight loss again. I listed my fitness and other plans. But a few people pointed out that i only had one sentence in regards to my nutrition. So i had to sit back and think about it for a bit. So here goes my nutrition plan...

Calorie intake 1300-1750cals

Breakfasts will mainly consist of:
- 1 scrambled egg on a sandwich thin with a slice of pepperjack cheese
or
- Greek yogurt

Morning snacks will mainly consist of:
- a fruit of some sort

Lunch will mainly consist of:
- chicken breast (with various marinades)
- couscous or brown rice
- veggie

Afternoon snack will consist mainly of:
- veggie with ranch
- fruit
- chips (I need something crunchy in the afternoons)

Dinner will consist mainly of:
- chicken breast (with various marinades)
or
- Skirt steak
or
- boneless pork chop
- couscous or brown rice
- veggie
or
- a salad with veggies and grilled chicken breast

This was my staple before. When/if i get bored i switch it up to ham and cheese sandwiches on sandwich thins for lunch or Jennie-o turkey burgers for dinner.

I need to start cutting out the soda again. I've started drinking the Zero Half & Half Tea's (arnold palmers). It's zero calories...but i guess i need to look at the sugar content of it as well.

This past Saturday i started using the Couch 2 10k app on my phone. It's amazing how much i can actually run and not get tired! Week 1, Day 1 is just 30 minutes. BUT we did it 3 times and then still walked a bit after the 3rd round to complete our cardio. BURNED a ton of calories! Tomorrow i'll do day 2 and keep going from there.

Since tomorrow starts my training for the 3-Day, 60 Mile walk in November, my next scheduled 5k isn't until December. It'll be the Dallas Jungle Bell Run. I want to run it this year...it'll be the 1st full run ever. My goal is to complete it in under 35mins. As a walk i can do it in 46mins.

    I like both dresses....but maybe the size 16 just a little better, just love that kind of style. YOU are AMAZING with your plan....aggressive but very doable since it's being done by a very determined person. You are very inspirational .....I can't wait to see you at goal!

    Miss Vicky I like the both dresses but I like the first one best. I agree with Karen that the first dress is more dressy for a wedding. I think you should send the first dress back and reorder it in a size 16. You will want to look stunning for the wedding so that you'll catch the eye of the single guy that will become your future boyfriend. I'mjusssayin

    The artificial sweeteners can cause the body to overproduce insulin and store more fat so the zero calorie label is misleading. Good for you for having a plan to get back on top! emoticon

5 pounds! That's all i've lost this year is 5 measly pounds! I know for some that number is great, but i weighted 272 odd pounds on January 1st and today i weight 267.3lbs...REALLY?!

Why?
Because i stuff junk into my mouth.

Am I working out?
Yes! I walk/jog almost every day. I strength train almost every day.

What's wrong with this picture?
No amount of working out will EVER justify eating over/beyond my calories. Bad eating habits = no weight loss.

So what am i going to do?
I've taken a step back. I've evaluated what i've been doing? I gathered the information that i used when i was losing weight. ANd i wrote out a battle plan.

What's my plan?
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday = Cardio days (I'm training for the 3-Day walk and those are the training days).

Monday, Wednesday, Friday = yoga

Monday - Sunday = strength training, no two groups back to back

Nutrition = 1300-1750 calorie per day

What's my May goal?
To make it out of the 260's!

What do i miss?
SWEATING! Sweat means i am working hard to change my body...




What's my End of Summer Goal?
I have a wedding to attend on September 21st and i want to look stunning in my dress.

    Your exercise plan is TRULY lovely, but as someone else mentioned, only ONE line on the whole nutrition bit. You DO know that exercise is about 20% of weight loss and eating is about 80%. The calorie numbers are probably fine, but it is not only about how much you eat but what you eat. Try to make some goals for how you are going to improve your eating so your dress will look super. It is a LOVELY dress. The idea of going from whole milk to 2%, to 1% and finally to skim is applicable to more than milk. What are your weaknesses? Candy? Try using MINI candy bars. Doughnuts? Switching from several to one less each time you have them. Chips? Try tortilla chips instead of regular chips - higher fiber (there is SOME in most of the tortilla chips) lower sodium, and more chips in a serving that has LESS calories. Pizza? Try cutting back, changing toppings, and making your own, maybe even on a whole grain crust. Focus on your food for a while a little more because you are absolutely ROCKING the exercise piece.

    I looked over your plan and it's fine....the training part. You have one line dedicated to your nutrition!
Define it!. Start eliminating foods. For instance, I love milk. I drink 2%, went to 1% then skim. After a bit of research, I found 1% was better for me. That's my milk of choice. Diet soda! I used to throw down Diet Dr Pepper like it was water! I started drinking more water (flavored and pure H20) and stopped soda of any kind.

Slowly these changed became habit. Combined with my training, I started to see change. I'm going to do a blog on one without the other. I can tell you my bottom line is if you only do one...it's a waste of time!

    guess you have to decide what is more important at this time looseing lbs or loosing inches to get into the dress?a friend of mine did p90x and though she actually put on 4lbs in weight she lost over 20 inches intotal from,hip waist,bust and arms.maybe something to concider.you are going to look great in that dress when you loose a few inches.you can do this love emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My 2nd Half Marathon at 262lbs!

My first half marathon was the Dallas Rock 'n Roll on March 23, 2013. I finished at 3:43:43.

My second half marathon was on Cinco de Mayo...May 5, 2013. It was the Heels and Hills. My finish time? 3:41:49. I shaved off 2 minutes 1.5 months. Here's why i'm proud of that time:

1) The Heels and Hills were so much HILLIER then the Rock 'n Roll.
2) The last 0.25 miles of the half was ALL uphill.
3) I hyperventilated after i crossed the finish line.
4) It was HOT!
5) We did not have the route designated just for the half. So we had to share with other runners/walkers/cyclists.
6) I just didn't want to do it. After the first half i had enough...for now!

We were able to have our own motto/saying on our bibs if we registered early...


The day started out at 43 degrees but by the end it was almost 70 degrees!

My weight loss and eating habits have much room for improvement. On May 5th i weights 262.8lbs.Today i sit at 268.1lbs. After my last half i've taken a break from cardio. I needed to rest my legs before i begin training for the 3-Day. BUT i should have started walking again last week...did i? Not really.

Tonight my goal is to sit down and devise a plan. BOTH a fitness plan and an eating plan. My goal is to weigh under 200lbs by year end. Almost half the year has gone by and i have nothing to show for it...weight loss wise anyways.

    It is so cool you got to have your own motto printed on your bib. Would be neat to see what other people did. You may not have lost much weight in the past 6 months, but you've completed two half marathons! Did you ever think you would do something like that? You are living a fuller and more active life!
