9/24: I'm in it to win it!

This past Saturday I went for a 6.2 mile walk/run to see what my true starting time is and i did it in 1hr and 51 minutes. Well under the 2.5hr time limit they allow you. BUT i know the trail the Cowtown 10k is on and it's VERY hilly so i'll be adding quite a bit of time due to those hills. So i need to improve my time. The good thing is that the 10k isn't until February.

Saturday was HOT! By about 9am it was already near 90 degrees. Here's a picture of me after i finished the walk/jog and jumped in my car to cool off...



I received my Silver medal for the Presidential Champions challenge!



So here i am training for 5ks, 10ks AND i have a half marathon coming up...it's hard for me to figure out but since i can already complete the 5k in under an hour and the 10k in under 2hrs, i will start the process of getting a training schedule together for the half marathon....whew!

The normal...

September Goals...

Complete 100 walking/running miles (completed only 71.152 so far)
Lose 10lbs
Complete 5k under 50 minutes
Starting Weight: 264.8lbs
PINK VIKINGS Starting Weight (9/12): 269lbs
PINK VIKINGS After Week 1 WI (9/19): 265.4 (-3.6lbs)

Now here are my more, specific goals from 9/12 through 12/31...
1) I will lose the 24lbs by the end of the 12 weeks
2) I will drink 64oz of water every day
3) I will work out for at least 45 minutes everyday (I'm starting the 100 day challenge again)
4) I will stay within my calorie range 6x a week
5) My waist size will be under 40 inches
6) My thigh size will be less than 21 inches
7) I will fit into a size 18 jeans
8) I will fit into a size 16 yoga pants
9) I will complete a 5k in under 50 minutes

Side Note: I have seven opportunities to complete the 5k in under 50 minutes. I have a scheduled 5k on:
1) Race for the Cure Denton 9/29
2) Race for the Cure Dallas 10/20
3) Trek or Treat 5k 10/28
4) SP Virtual Halloween 5k 10/31
5) Dallas Turkey Trot 11/22
6) Deck the Trails 5k 12/1
7) Santa Run 12/15

I also have a scheduled 10k on:
1) Cowtown 10k 2/23/13

I also have a scheduled half marathon on:
1) Heels & Hills 5/5/13

    Good for you girl!!! You are on your way! I am proud of you for scheduling a half marathon and for jumping right into a 10k. I have run a 5k every month since July and in October I am running a 5k and a 5 mile zoo run. Keep it up girlie! I am rooting for you!

9/19 BLC20: Week 2...What Am i to do?

Week 1 is DONE! And the results of an amazing first week? i LOST 3.6lbs!!!! WOOT WOOT!

What did i do in Week 1 to help me lose that weight? To be honest there were just a few things i did differently...
1) Stayed NEAR calorie range. I say NEAR because 1560 as my max is a little low for me...at least that's my opinion.
2) i gave up soda! For me that's a HUGE step. I think i'm on day 5 or 6...i haven't stabbed anyone yet, so i'm good for now

3) I'm drinking ALL of my water

What are my plans for week2?
1) Stay near my calorie range...by near i mean within 200 calories
2) soda = BAD
3) Drink ALL my water
4) Continue plugging along with my fitness

My next 5k is next Saturday. It's the first one i'll be doing alone. Usually i have a friend with me, but she has a work class to attend for the next few months. So my time i ONLY dependant upon me...my goal is to get it under 50 minutes.

Last night as i was on the treadmill at home i decided to start running again...but at a slower pace on the machine. I ran for 22 minutes at a 3.8mph speed. I'll take it! It's a start to my running...hopefully i'll keep improving.

The normal...

Presidential Challenge

Back in May i received the Bronze Presidential Challenge award. I just logged in my fitness for July through yesterday and as of September 6th i achieved the Silver Presidential Challenge Award. I'll be receiving my certificate and medal in a few weeks!

I took a snap shot of the page where it shows what i've achieved. I have my bronze medallion at home and now i'll have the silver to place right next to it!



My goal is to achieve Gold! I should be able to achieve it by years end. Then next year i'm aiming for Platinum (1,000,000pts)...and yes it's cumulative!

9/17 BLC20: What's happening now...

I WALKED my bootay off this weekend! I needed to play "catch up" with my miles for the month. I'm only 7.84 miles behind where i should be at as of last night. I KNOW i can easily complete my 100 walking/running miles for September even if all that i do is add an additional 0.5 mile to each of my walks.

I completed my Turkey Trot tutu last night.


I'll wear a brown shirt to go along with it and a hat of some sort to keep my head warm.

Here's what my closest now looks like:


So that's my Race for the Cure pink/white tutu, my Treat or Trek tutu and now my Turkey Trot tutu. I just need to work on my Deck the Trails/Santa Run tutu and i'm done!

Actually, i take a girls only picture with my sister and nieces and this year i'm making us all Christmas tutu's to wear. The last picture we all wore white shirts, black bottoms and these knee length red and white striped socks with fur along the tops. Very cute! So i'll be making a few more tutu's just for them.

I am on day 3 of no soda-pop! I'm a bit excited about it and i've realized just how easy it was for me to down glass after glass of soda whenever i went out before. A little lemon in my water and i'm good! I won't lie...i like it with some sweet and low for every other refill to change the taste up a bit.

So i'm thinking about signing up for another half marathon in 2014...They have DisneyRuns! And the finisher medals are amazingly cute! Oh, in case you didn't know the ONLY reason i signed up for the half in May is because i want to start collecting medals! SO to add some cute Disney medals would be AWESOME! I would actually LOVE IT if maybe i can get a bunch of Sparkies to join me...they haven't released 2014 because 2013 was just released. BUT i am so there in 2014.

9/14 BLC20: 12 Week Plan of Success & Other Things

OK, so for the weekend challenge (Friday through Monday), i need to complete the following:

1) Writing 101

What is my 12 Week Plan of Success?
Week 1 (9/12-9/18) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 31 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; start training for the February Cowtown 10k

Week 2 (9/19-9/25) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 28 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; add in core workout to my routine

Week 3 (9/26-10/2) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 26 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; complete my Race for the Cure Denton 5k by reducing the time (shortest race time to date is 53:01)

Week 4 (10/3-10/9) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 35 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda

Week 5 (10/10-10/16) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 36 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda

Week 6 (10/17-10/23) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 37 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; improve on 5k race time at the Dallas Race for the Cure

Week 7 (10/24-10/30) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 38 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; improve on 5k race time at the Trek or Treat 5k

Week 8 (10/31-11/6) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 38 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; Do not indulge in Halloween candy (limit to 1 or 2 pieces - make them count!);

Week 9 (11/7-11/13) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 39 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda;

Week 10 (11/14-11/20) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 39 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda;

Week 11 (11/21-11/27) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 39 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; improve on 5k time during the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot; do NOT over eat on Thanksgiving; start training for the Heels & Hills Half Marathon in May

Week 12 (11/28-12/4) = Obtain ALL possible points aside from fitness minutes; Complete 40 walking/jogging miles; eat within calorie range; log all food eaten; drink at least 64oz of water; STOP drinking soda; Improve on my 5k time during the Deck the Trails 5k

2) Brown Bag it! Make at least 1 healthy meal per day...

For lunch today i prepared baked chicken and two cups of broccoli
For Saturday I will prepare grilled chicken breast and veggies
For Sunday I will prepare lemon chicken
For Monday i will have leftover lemon chicken - my favorite!

3) Arithmetic - log it!

I've logged my menu for the next 4 days

4) Recess!

Today = i will complete 10 Leslie Sansone miles (5 already done)
Saturday = I will complete 7 miles outside (gonna track my 10k time)
Sunday = Complete 6 miles outside
Monday - Complete 4 miles

5) Picture Day!

I tried my Halloween makeup again last night...


I'm going for the Psycho Doll look.

Here's what i did the night before...


Here's what i want to do differently...
- i love the eyes of the first picture
- i like the under eye whiteness of the second picture
- i like the lips of the first picture minus the black scarring
- i like the freckles of the second picture
- i do NOT like the pink cheeks of the first picture
- i do not like the black scarring of the first picture
- i'm not sure what hair i like better
- I like the foundation i used on the second picture

    I like how to have planned out your goals for the challenge in a weekly format. I think it makes 12 weeks look less intimidating. Also congrats on working to cut out soda. I would not be able to do that. Mostly because my caffeine free soda is what keeps me going as I gave up caffeine for a few months. I like the freckles in your second picture for the make-up I think you should use them regardless of what else you do!

    I think the hair makes the difference. Like lips in first. bottom eyelashes in first. I actually like the cheeks. Think it adds dimension but I ain't got to wear it. LOL Have fun emoticon
