8/20 Weigh-in...265.4lbs!!!!!!

This weekend i went to go pick up some new clothes. My 24/22's were getting a little too baggy and my size 22 jeans were starting to sag on me. I thought going into it that maybe i've just stretched them out too much and they are just that way now. But while i was in the stores, i thought why not try a size 20 jean (same brand and style) and 18/20's for tops. Before i tried anything on i gave myself the pep-talk...it's ok if these don't fit. I'm just seeing how much more i have to go before they can actually fit. I figured the jeans wouldn't even go past my thighs and i figured the shirts would be awfully tight...showing all of my spare tires. I was a bit shocked when the size 20 jeans actually fit and zipped...AND buttoned!!!!! And the size 18/20 tops looked great on me!!!! Can this really be happening...can i actually be that close to getting out of the 20-something size jeans and tops?

So i did keep one pair of my size 26 jeans and i decided to take a picture of them to compare the difference...truth be told...in the back of my mind i never thought i'd be able to take a picture like this...BUT...

26 vs 20!!!!

I guess it makes sense when i think about it. I kill my lower body...i do so many walking/jogging/biking miles the thighs and legs are bound to get smaller, right?! I need to start really working on my core and upper body...so i took a picture...i HATE these type of pictures, but i need to know what i look like so that i can SEE what i need to chance...

This is me after losing 53.6lbs...

I am shrinking...and i know with time those rolls will start vanishing...

I leave for a work trip to Phoenix in the morning. I'm able to get a full workout in REALLY early tomorrow before i head over to the airport. I have scheduled walks and gym time on the hotel property...as long as a last minute meeting doesn't come up. I don't want to stop my streak or momentum.

August 15th...I love a good sweat!

Thursday, August 16, 2012

August Challenge:
Date: 8/15
Calories Eaten: 1759 (my range is 1510-1860)
Calories Burned: 436
Fitness Completed:
4 miles (leslie)
Yearly Miles Completed: 1122.73 out of 1500

I was so tired yesterday that i decided that i did not want to go out to the gym. BUT i knew that i needed to work out. So i popped in a Leslie Sansone DVD. I mean, if i had to choose between putting my shoes and workout clothes on or being barefoot in just a tee shirt...guess what? I'm staying home in my tee shirt! Obviously, no one was home with me!

I forgot how much i enjoy taking pictures of myself after a sweat session. I can't really do that in the gym. I guess i could, but i don't want to look like an idiot! LOL...i mean i'm just snapping pics of my face and the sweat...

Anyways...

Today's Goals:
8 Miles

I think i want a break from the gym. I can walk outside, i can do some videos...when i say break i mean while i'm at home. When i was in Chicago i walked outside almost every day. I'll be in Arizona from the 21-25 and i'll be at the gym every day there. Otherwise, i kinda just want to relax from the gym a bit. I may change my mind and hit the gym up this weekend. But for tonight it's more of Leslie.

August 14th...just some thoughts...

August Challenge:
Date: 8/14
Calories Eaten: 3075 (my range is 1510-1860)
Calories Burned: 636
Fitness Completed:
3 miles (leslie)
4 miles (leslie)

So yesterday i posted a rather quick blog with a run down of my vacation. What i did not do was discuss my emotions about the week. So here goes...

I haven't been home to Chicago since Christmas of 2010. I had moved out to Texas right after Thanksgiving of 2009 and went home for weekends just about every other month. I hadn't given Texas a true shot to determine if i liked it or not. So i told myself that in 2011 i would not visit home. I needed to give Texas a full year to see what i truly thought. Well, 20 months later and i finally go back for a visit...so i guess i enjoy Texas. At least i enjoy all of my single friends.

This is the thing. In Chicago, my family and friends are all married. Here, my friends are single (just a few marrieds in the mix). I wish i could mix both worlds but i can't. And i have some great friends here and i'm involved with them and my church. And i love my job. But...

In going home i realized how much i miss having family around. My younger brother and his wife are talking about babies. I want to be there to see them grow up. My favorite niece (who's 6) held onto me legs because she didn't want to let me go home. I can't even begin to tell you how much that broke my heart.

As of this moment, i'm aiming to move back to Chicago mid November of 2013. My goal is to pay off my debts (mainly what i call divorce debt) and save money. Really, i have until next September to decide if i want to move back - that's when i'll need to renew my lease on my apartment.

I discussed my plans with my boss (he's an amazing boss and i couldn't have ever asked for someone better). He told me to visit home more and stay here to take care of him...lol. People tell me that when i'm gone he looks lost. I guess i'm doing my job right!

I love this little girl...

My sister did my hair and makeup for the wedding. I have to admit, this was the first time i ever FELT beautiful! I loved everything about it. When i walked down the aisle (I was the first one after the godparents) the groom gave me the biggest smile and nod. We're all friends that go back quite a few years. So that nod was him letting me know that he thought i looked beautiful. BUT the look on his face when he finally saw Minee was priceless...the tears came to his eyes right away.

So the week was very emotional for me. And i'm torn between family in Chicago and my life that i love here in Texas...

****************************************
*****************************

So far i'm at a stand still for August. I haven't lost a pound. But i guess thats a blessing considering all that i've eaten. I mean while i was in Chicago i had deep dish pizza 3x and for the rehearsal dinner it was at a chinese buffet...dang i love those!

August 1-13th...Back from Vacay!!!!! LOTS of PICTURES!

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

I had such a great time on VACAY! I went back home to Chicago to visit family and friends. It was so hard to come back to Texas...but i did. So here's a recap of my VACAY:

8/4
I landed at 7:45am at O'hare. I went to pick up my rental car and the price they tried to charge me was DOUBLE the price of the quote on my print out when i RESERVED the car. What gives? After a little debate with the sales rep...i left with no car. I called my sister...no answer. I called my brother...no answer. I called my girlfriend that is getting married...she turned around and came straight to pick me up...gotta love friends that are willing to drop what they are doing for you.

So we spent the day hanging out and then went to my brothers house - where i would sleep for the week. We just had a relaxing day catching up and bbqing.

8/5
Spent the day with Minee, helping her with last minute stuff for the wedding. Before i went to her place (my brother lent me his car for the week. He works a 5 minute bike ride away from his house so he easily lent it to me...YAY!) I went for a walk. There's a trail near their place so i walked it. I brought the WRONG shoes, because...

I felt the start of a blister about 2.5 miles into my walk. At 2.85 i decided to turn around and walk back home. At the 4 mile mark i felt a cooling sensation...DANG! THe blisters must have popped! I REFUSED to look at it. Once you look - then it hurts. So i didn't look until i got back home and took my shoes off. The entire back of my shoes were covered in blood.

8/6
I went to visit my sister for the day

8/7
I decided to sleep at my sisters and we practiced my make-up and hair for the upcoming wedding.

These were my sleeping buddies...gotta love them!

8/8
I hung out at my brothers all day.

8/9
dress rehearsal for the wedding! First we got our nails done...i did a mani and pedi. And the lady looks at me and says, "Do you want to take care of your eyebrows and mustache before the wedding?" DANG! I guess i do...lol

BRIDE

MAID OF HONOR

Then we went back to Minee's and i straightened her hair.

Now it's rehearsal time...

Me and the soon to be GROOM

Minee calls us her UNITED NATIONS of FRIENDS...Filipino, White & Mexican...lol

8/10: WEDDING DAY

Getting ready...

The FINISHED product...

And here are some other pics from the day...

My bouquet...

Her parents! Her dad is wearing the traditional Filipino dress (shirt)...

My partner down the aisle! He made sure i didn't fall on my face...

The 3 of us (the UNITED NATIONS of FRIENDS) gave the speech together!

8/11
Time to come home...how sad! But first i helped my sister in law pull weeds!

But the plane was delayed by 2hrs...

When i landed and went to baggage claim there were 17 of my friends holding up signs welcoming me home! Gotta love it!

8/12
i relaxed at home but did hit the pool for 10 laps. I don't know how people do it. It was HARD!

8/13
rested at home and cleaned and did laundry.

MOST of this was while on vacation...

August 1st - I BOUGHT MAKE-UP

Thursday, August 02, 2012

So i'm not a girly girl at all when it comes to make-up and clothes and shoes...but with all the changes i am making to my health, i wanted to also change up my look and get more "womanly" if you will. So i started wearing dresses and cute shoes. But make-up is a whole other story. I wouldn't and didn't even know where to begin.

So on Monday night i was talking to my sister and i told her about my make-up issues. So she ran down a list of things i should have as a starting point. So yesterday i set out with my list (man i should have taken a picture of my buys!). I went to Ulta because they are will apply the makeup on me and kinda show me what to do when applying it. It was kind of a funny experience. Their stuff was way to expensive so i just went to Target to actually buy scuff. I mean i'm just starting out with make-up. Let me play with it a while first before i go and buy the expensive stuff!

So my biggest concerns were my dark spots from my acne scars.

Here are some before shots...

Now here's the makeup the lady did FOR me at Ulta...

So i'll need to practice a bit in order to get it looking good doing it myself. I'm almost 36 years old and i'm JUST now learning to apply make-up...

Thats so funny as I am attempting to do the same thing. Up until the last few weeks, I would never be caught dead in a skirt or dress. Now I am wearing one every day. Working on getting to the makeup comfort level. Please keep us posted on how it goes for you!
