Had a strange day yesterday continued w/a strange night. Started w/a phonecall from a guy I don't know who started the strange conversation w/this is awkward, found some womens underwear in my 5 yo daughters room & can not figure out who's it is. Hoping it's from one of the ladies from the bridal shower changing in my daughters room for the bachelorette party, but haven't quite figured out who's it is. One of my kids wet the bed(strange b/c it's rare) & another came to cuddle a couple hours later in the middle of the night (another strange occurence my kids usually don't get up in the middle of the night) so I gave up trying to sleep, folded laundry & am now on the computer b/c I don't want to awaken the entire house. DH is up now, have a great day!

Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him.

- Aldous Huxley, writer
Breaking the cycle of failure

One experience builds on another and that is how life evolves. We should not simply "live and learn" but rather "live, learn, and improve." We all make mistakes in life. Do you learn from yours or do you have a cycle of making the same ones over and over? Perhaps you want to lose weight but always seem to fail, never seem to finish your reports at work, or have a hard time following through on your obligations. Examine some past failures and review where you went off track with your goal. Don't mistake failing with "I am a failure," as no one is perfect all the time. Take what you have learned and apply it to the next situation.

Where does the time go? Got some groceries this am, tested the pool water & added some chemicals, had my hair done & am excited to have recieved some great clothes from a good friend & MIL(love new to me clothes, now just need a bigger closet, lol) Brought the kids to cheerleading practice & was pleasantly surprised to find out my daughter will be a flyer. After hearing her cheer @ my nieces field hockey game last week, I think she's a natural likea couple of her aunts who were cheerleaders when they were younger. Plan on getting my exercize tomorrow bringing all the kids toys up to the attic & weeding outside. What are your plans for tomorrow? Have a good night!

wow emoticon - fun! I have a rowing class in the morning, and then we are taking our kids to a county fair - I am glad I don't like deep-fried stuff because, I swear, every other food at fairs is now deep fried.

Copied from my sparkfriend GERIKRAGH's blog had to share

Monday, August 15, 2011

Recently, in a large city in Australia ,

a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym.

It said, "This summer,

do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

A middle-aged woman,

whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster,

responded publicly to the question

posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern,

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans.)

They have an active sex life,

get pregnant and have adorable baby whales.

They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp.

They play and swim in the seas,

seeing wonderful places like Patagonia ,

the Bering Sea

and the coral reefs of Polynesia .

Whales are wonderful singers

and have even recorded CDs.

They are incredible creatures

and virtually have no predators

other than humans.

They are loved, protected and admired

by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist.

If they did exist,

they would be lining up outside the offices

of Argentinean psychoanalysts

due to identity crisis. Fish or human?

They don't have a sex life

because they kill men who get close to them, not to mention how could they have sex?

Just look at them ... where is IT?

Therefore, they don't have kids either...

Not to mention,

who wants to get close to a girl who smells

like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me:

I want to be a whale.

P..S. We are in an age

when media puts into our heads

the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver, and a glass of wine with my friends.

With time, we gain weight

because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads

that when there is no more room,

it distributes out to the rest of our bodies.

So we aren't heavy,

we are enormously cultured,

educated and happy.

Beginning today,

when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, ¨Good grief, look how smart I am!¨

I just saw a documentary on whales and was mesmerized and I agree they are beautiful creatures!

And so are we!
