F To The Double O To The D

FOOD...I just can't seem to get enough of it, literally. It doesn't help that I have weird hours and am not on a schedule at all. My days and nights fluctuate. I eat dinner usually before 7pm, I get to bed anywhere between 3 and 6am, yes, I don't get enough sleep as well. Then I don't eat again until 11am and that is usually a Vega One Chocolate Shake with Beet Root Powder and Almond/Coconut Milk. Occasionally I will add a scoop of Sun Warrior for extra protein.
After that shake I may not eat again until 7pm and that is usually a salad or a baked potato loaded with veggies. Or I will make rice noodles or brown rice and veggies.
There are times where I will drink another shake or a Naked Juice some where in the day.
My plan is to eat something small, up to 390 calories, 4 times a day. Then I will see how that works for me and go from there.
I am going to try and start a routine too, might be difficult but I think it will work out better for me if I do.
There has been a few times I went to the gym and struggled to finish because of a lack of energy. I get so upset with myself when that happens. Today is a good example of that. I did 45min of cardio and was just physically exhausted. Mentally I was ready to hit the weights and do my leg routine. But I just had to stop and listen to my body. I didn't want to...I wanted to push myself. Thankfully I listened to my body instead of my brain.
Tomorrow will be better.

    Good idea to listen to your body. Mine told me to sit down and watch the Buckeye game. Now I am ready to be up all night watching DH.

I, like most people in the world, once compared myself to what society classified as being beautiful. You see women in magazines, not just on the covers, looking flawless. But through out the whole magazine, in ads and so on. The Diet Coke and Pepsi ads show flawless women holding cans of soda. It's a good way of getting people to consume their unhealthy products by promoting that if you do so you will look good.

I really have struggled my whole life believing I wasn't good enough. Wasn't pretty enough, thin enough etc. I was wrong and if you feel that way about yourself so are you. With the ever changing and growing trends of today, with the desire to be popular, accepted, and loved, people change who they are, inside and out, to try and fit what society's opinions are of what beauty is.
I am not talking about health either, I am talking about the fact that we damage ourselves, our souls, with our constant judgemental attitudes we carry towards ourselves. It has to stop if we want to lose weight and become healthy. It stopped for me, I no longer see myself as damaged, ugly, disgusting, inadequate, etc. I see myself as beautiful. Because I am, I am imperfect, I have flaws, I have scars, but I am unique and perfectly imperfect and beautiful.

Losing weight will never make someone beautiful. People are not beautiful because they look a certain way. They may be attractive, but every one can look good with the right make up and clothes. Beauty comes from deep within.

I found that in order for me to lose weight, to become healthy. I had to change the way I saw myself. I had to heal from the inside in order to have it reflect on the outside. We are beautiful, just the way we are. And when I realized that about myself, the weight was easier to lose. When I didn't see that I was beautiful, I would only lose and re-gain weight, or struggle and become depressed because I lost no weight.

You must find your inner beauty and love yourself for who you are. Do not let other people's opinions of what they see and don't know affect how you feel about yourself. Do not become as ignorant as they are when they judge you, without knowing you, by believing them. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!

    Nice read, and so true.

You women have to fight that. I suppose it is part culture and part genetics. It reminds me of a cartoon I once saw.

In one frame you see this totally beautiful, fit and firm woman in a state of near undress looking in to a mirror. The mirror image was this droopy, saggy woman.

In the other frame you see this droopy, saggy guy looking in to a mirror and the mirror image is of this buff lifeguard type.

Plus, here is a "normal" guys, which is most of us, can say all we want, but we don't know how to act when around one of the cover girls you point out. The reality is all we really want is solid relationship with a "normal" beautiful woman.

It gets back to that mirror image I pointed out. In many ways, you are what you seeing differently. Us guys have been doing it for much so I believe, but that's another story.

    Well said! I am happy that you realized you are beautiful and yes we all have flaws and imperfections but that is what makes us human! Good luck with your path to a healthier life! You are on the right track.
