I joined the Legion because of the nice things they do for others such as children, other house bound veterans and widows. they are a noble group and I'm humbled to belong to ones who fought so hard for us!!!!

What Great News Mary, Thank you so much for your Service to our Country, We have seen some Unit members with duel membership in the Auxiliary and also in the American Legion. What a privilege to know you ! ! At our convention there was a lady that was Voted the California Veteran of the Year and she was a member of the Auxiliary also.

Nature Maybe Alive in Your Own Back Yard !
I love it when the Pool is warmed from the solar panels and I can just jump in the nice warm water so there is just a small jolt to my body system, then I float on my back and look at the deep blue sky, watching a few crows or other birds fly by.
My daughter loves to get in the water, and start working out. Some mornings a beautiful set of red brown dragonfly come and swoop down then fly circles around her head, as well as a smaller black winged dragonfly with white trim somewhat smaller than the other. They remain there and sit on some of the plants surrounding the pool for probably half an hour. They look at her and we laugh as they dart overhead up high and then back to the same plant on the same stem that they had been sitting on. Nature is fun to see even in our own back yard.

Thanks for all your post. It was fun to hear from you. I know I love it to, Nancy. Probably because we were gone all last week. Such fun to dive to the bottom, although I find my lungs can't stay down as long as when I was younger. Healthy14real- You are so very lucky to see them out in the country, bet you never know what will show up next. I'm not to keen on the snakes though. saw a huge one in Texas when visiting my great uncle when I was a kid. He had a chicken farm and the snake was getting his eggs from the chickens. I remember that was really weird seeing all those eggs inside the snake, like big rounds things, must have had about 10 eggs inside it. funny how some things you see when a kid you still remember when you get old. We live in a housing development , where there are drains for street water to drain, and have seen a mom raccoon with 2 young ones, that came up from the drain at night time, then they walked around for a short time and went back down the drain.. Haven't seen them any more Sugarshocker, I bet you see lots of wild things out in the wood there in Pa. Sounds like a great place. Report Inappropriate Comment |

We don't have a pool but live in the country so have all sorts of nature on our property. I was walking in the garden a couple days ago and almost stepped on a frog; then saw the biggest beetle I've ever seen a few minutes later. We have had deer, turkey, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, possums, a couple snakes and a skunk or two pass through. We have even had a huge black bear pass through. We have countless birds that visit too.
