Ready for a fresh start!

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

I've yet to weigh myself to see the damage I have done, but I'm not going to spend my time beating myself up for it. Losing weight was never my resoultion before, so this year is my year! I've been working out at our community center, but I took the extra step and committed to a gym this morning. I'm looking forward to the warm seasons so I can do more outside. Only being able to workout indoors takes a toll on me sometimes, and I lose focus. But this year, I won't let that happen. I've got a goal in mind, and I'm going to meet it! So here's to all of the others who are making a fresh start with the new year! Good luck to all. :)

Finally out of the 170's!

Friday, October 19, 2012

So it's no secret that work has gotten so rough that workouts have completely been out of the picture for about a month now, which really sucks. I started to get discouraged because for three straight weigh ins I was stuck at the same weight. I guess that it's better than gaining weight though. Finally I have lost some more weight and managed to get myself out of the 170's range! My coworkers are noticing the difference, and by now I've grown so used to my healthy eating that if I do splurge I feel a little rundown. My goal is to start working out again. I'm going to apply for a membership at one of the 24 hour gyms in town. Going to the gym af the rec center has it's disadvantages. It's the cheapest option, but they're always closed when I get off work now. My goal was to get down to 150 pounds by the end of the year. It's going to be hard, but I won't say it's impossible. We'll just have to see where my journey takes me. :)

So super news! You are doing great. I think that an investment in the 24 hour club will be great for you. I have joined a challenge here at SP and it motivated me to start losing again. Using the new gym regimen for the rest of the year can really be key to getting you to your goals!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Things are looking up!

Now that I've taken an interest in taking care of myself, I'm starting to feel better physically and mentally. Apart from that, people are really starting to notice my progress as well. It's not as hard as it used to be, it's almost coming naturally. I splurge once a week, but even then I know my limits. I've had to cut out my working out because I've been working late almost every night. The days I am off I'm either busy or just too tired to even fool with it. I figure being all over the place for 10+ hours a day will make some kind of difference. I'm starting to see weight loss as a 12 step program: It works if you work it!

I am learning I must take care of myself so that I can take care of my husband. In 2009 he had a heart attack which resulted in a double bypass due to a bloodclot. He was recovering from that when his appetite started to fail and he developed neck and shoulder pain which turned out to be lupus. Unfortunately, it took over a year to diagnose the lupus as it masked other symptoms. The lupus has done some damage to his lungs. He is up and about again, but fell in the street at our driveway resulting in a big gooseegg on his forehead as well as a broken left arm. Now, the cardiologist is telling him he has decreased bloodflow in his lower heart. If I don't stay strong for him, we will both fall apart and quality of life will diminish.

Short and sweet this morning.

Another crazy week at work, which has led me to SP neglect once again. I started this process in the high 190's, and as of this morning...I am one pound away from being in the 160's. I've got to get back into my workout mode come Monday. I've been losing by eating right, but it'll definitely help when I get back into my workout routine.

I've returned!

Friday, September 21, 2012

I haven't been online in about 2 weeks due to a long and rough moving process, but I have still been strict on my diet. I've passed my 25 pounds lost point, and I couldn't be happier. I'm seeing some serious change here. I no longer have to wear what is considered a Junior's Plus size pair of pants, which has me more excited than anything. Hahaha. I'm more than halfway to my goal as of right now, and will continue to push myself until I get there!
