It's been almost a year since I logged into Sparkpeople. I've maintained my weight over the last year but maintaing being overweight isn't what I want. I have a cruise planned for October and would like to at least be comfortable in a bathing suit by then. So, here I am again, going to try this. No FAD diets, no get skinny quick ideas, just really try healthy eating, counting calories, eating healthy foods and not kidding myself about 100 calories from a candy bar would be the same as 100 calories from an apple, and last but certainly not least, not beating myself up if I don't lose quickly enough.

    That is exactly how I was feeling. I bought a bathing suit after such a long time and after I looked at myself in the mirror and realized that I needed to continue the journey that I had started.

Top 5 Things I Can't Do

I can't.....

1) Continue to bury my head in the sand and pretend it'll get better on it's own, I have to do the work
2) Continue to live in self-debt, I can do this if I put my mind to it
3) Continue to not track my food intake, I have to be accountable
4) Continue to try these crazy fad diets, the math is simple, expend more calories than you put in, you will lose weight, there is no quick fix.
5) Continue with the guilt, it's only holding me back and will continue to "weigh" me down if I let it.

Ready to try 17 day diet - Activate Cycle

Haven't blogged in awhile. I had craziness at work and just couldn't get logged on. Anyway, I did fairly well on the first cycle of the diet. I lost about 5 pounds, which for me is outstanding after years of yo-yo dieting. I'm going to move on to cycle 2 and see if I continue to lose. If not, I'll go back to cycle 1.

17 Day Diet - Day 5 & 6

So yesterday I totally blew it. I gave in to my cravings and ate a piece of chocolate cake (for breakfast none the less) . Then had a lunch meeting and it was catered in and all they had was a wrap. Now I could have un-wrapped it and just eaten the meat and lettuce but I didn't do that either. I tried to get back on track with turkey chili last night and today (Day 6) I've eaten clean again. But I'm just so frustrated with myself emoticon. I really want this to work!

17 Day Diet - Day 4

Finally, the headache is gone! I think I'm getting used to the low carb diet. I am starting to feel full when I eat and am finding creative options for food and snacks. now let's hope the weight starts to come off. I also set a personal record on the elliptical, 2.1 miles in 30 minutes. Loving it!
