Today was BUSY and STRESSFUL As much as we need them, insurance companies think we are their puppet and they can string us along as much as possible.
once again did not sleep well (think it was because I was afraid to oversleep)
Got up and headed to the doctors office for lab work. Then quick trips to the grocery store, office supply , craft and card stores. Made a stop at my other doctors office for a weight and bp check. I did loose all that water weight from last week and back to my presurgery weight.
Got home and immediately started to clean the house, but then I remembered I needed to find the status of some medical claims I put in with tricare for my meds. Today they told me it was rejected again and it has been in the mail since Aug 3 (honestly do not believe they mailed it or did any work on it). Then for hubby's meds was told it was rejected because "it needed prior approval." I got the number for the prior approval desk, called the doctor and asked him nurse to please contact them. She did. She was told they did not need doctor input, but they needed the approval from the compounding pharmacy. Understand, this is pharmacy that makes speciality drugs and does not accept any time of insurance so e could not figure this out.
So I called prior approvals myself. This b....h was so nasty. Even though there is a slip giving me permission to discuss my hubby's claim, she refused to look it up. so then I tried to make it about me going on this med next month. She was truly getting nasty. She said everything depended on our primary insurance which never pays anything as they do not believe i compounded drugs. then once the receive it, they will determine if they drug needs prior approval since like in our case can hold up the claim for months. She would not let my husband call in and verbally leave permission. It had to be a three way phone call and he was requied to stay on the phone the entire time. WHAT!!!!
So called hubby and he found out how to do a 3 way on his phone.
Then my son wants to go to the hardware store, but he needs me to go since I get the military discount ther.
Come home, stay for 10 minutes and back out to where my previous 2 trips have been today. stopped at the pharamcy and told them what was going on and there were supposed to call but did not get a chance to
So finally settled down, I call tricare back and ask how to get a release of information form send from the medical to express scripts end. They transferred me over to the main pharmacy number and I told a new rep about the hell I have been going through trying to get claims processed. She kept me on the phone for a while and was like me, prior approvals need to go through the doctor not the pharmacy. So tomorrow I am going to stop at the store, get some flowers for the nurse and go and ask once more to please contact these idiots.
While I was on this call, I went into tricare's medical claims. Agai anger came in. I sent them 5 pages for the claim. They lost all but 2 and still can't figure out how they came up with the name for my doctor was OOJ Corporation. So once off the drug call, it was on to the medical call where the woman made me feel like I was stupd. I know what I sent because I keep it all in plastic sheets in a book.
They were not the only insurance company I got to tdeal with. Had to call BCBS because they are holding up procressing claims that were previously submitted becuase no one could figue out if you pay 32.00 out of pocket and they reimbuse you zero, you should owe the pharmacy 32.00 no zero.
While I was on the phone, had to get up for a few minutes and while I was up, the dog ate my hamburger. I was just to tired and stress to make another one and just had a piece of toast.
