this morning the plumber finally came by and we were in for a huge shock.
We purchased this house in 2005 and each year had issues with the kitchen sink backing up. In order to clear it, it usually had to be snaked from under the house. During these times we only used two companies through the home warranty and one who happened to be at the house doing some work when we added the additional bathroom. That plumber told us our pipes were run incorrectly and wanted to rerun them from the crawlspace into an outside wall and then up to the attic. Another plumber talked us out of that as an unnessary expense.
So last Nov we had the kitchen gutted due to water damage and the contractor had to go under the house to rehook up the plumbing to the kitchen.
So today we find out that the pipes are run and are sagging causing the stoppage in the lines. Cost to fix it is 875.00. DAMN. So after talking to the plumber hubby sees the problem and goes out to get the materials. Cost 50.00. He got the pipes in and while I am out, he calls me to come home and please start the dishwasher. Yes, you read that right.. My hubby who was an engineering major in college , lead troops through two conflicts and runs million square foot warehouse, can't start the dishwasher.
Tomorrow his first job offer comes in from FL and we can see there will be lots of salary negotiations with this one. We happen to know that if they do not get someone in their quick to save this account it will go to another company.
