I recently blogged the following to a beautiful mom who needed support. Hopefully it will help you too!
A few tricks that I have found helpful in not overeating:
1. Dump all the bad stuff. The cake, the ice cream, the pudding. Anything that is not part of your healthy diet needs to go. Resist the temptation to buy it in the store by reminding yourself that your ultimate goal is to look super sexy (or whatever goal you have), and donut holes do not help with that.
2. Cravings for sugar are easily attained with sweet fruits. Pineapple, papaya, mango, strawberries and even watermelon. So many fruits have the natural sugars we crave, and they are an important part of our diet.
3. When all else fails, chew gum. Look for the healthiest flavor out there, with low sugar or no sugar. Keep track of the calories per stick of gum if necessary. I lost 5 pounds on one diet by chewing a piece of gum every time I craved something sweet. It works, until you have reached that point in your goals where you realize that you don't need gum or sweet sugars all the time.
