I forgive myself for....

Sunday, August 15, 2010

From the inner journey sparkgroup:

The first topic is on forgiving yourself. We are often overly hard on ourselves and need to turn that around.

I forgive myself for-----------
- liking chocolate
- not being perfect
- not exercising enough
- making mistakes
- not being as active in sparkgroups as I could be
- having a messy house
- being chronic fatigued
- not always being nice
- being selfish

    Ah that is a great blog. When I read it I thought wow, none of those things makes you a bad person. And you really shouldn't feel sorry for doing/feeling any of what you mentioned. But guess what if I made a list it would have been very similar to yours.

BTW I love the cookie background image.

    After reading your blog, I can honestly say we are very much alike. Cause I feel the same way at times. So continue on this journey of self-discovery and find all those things that make you who you are. emoticon

    You and I have a LOT in common! Forgiveness is a huge step in letting go, and craziness prevention.

Be kind to yourself.

    Ahhh, a good thing to meditate on. We should all be able to forgive ourselves so that we can learn and move forward.

Absolute Yes List (Update)

Thursday, August 05, 2010

So I started the Absolute Yes list a few days ago :)

1 Study
2 Me time (fill with things I enjoy! Creativity, reading, playing video games etc)
3 Together time (boyfriend and cats)
4 Social time (SP, write letters and cards, meet up with friends)
5 Spiritual time
6 Abunai! & Fantasy Ezine (my volunteer jobs)
7 Healthy me (diet & exercise

I notice that it is so much easier now to manage my time. Of course I don't do all of these every single day. But there is a voice in the back of my head now telling me: Is this really how you want to spend your time? Is this what you really need to do right now?
The one thing that isnt on there though is cleaning the house XD Well I am a bad housekeeper to start with so that really isnt on my priority list at all! I need to spend my energy wisely and I am not one to spend a whole lot of it on the house. that doesnt mean that nothing gets done though ;)

At the moment a lot of time is going into Abunai! since the convention is less then a month away! It is such a busy time for me! But it is fun mostly, sometimes stressful. But I love to be part of the team and they are a big part of my social life :)

I would like to journal more :) It brings out the inner feelings that I have. But I have so many blogs on various places ;) Like here, but also on blogspot. So yeah I just blog whereever I think it fits best ;)

    I like your list! Balance is the key to success. I'm not always very good at it myself, but I know that when I do, I just have better days and get more done!

Good luck with Abunai! August 27th is coming up so fast!

The absolutely Yes list

Tuesday, August 03, 2010

I joined this Sparkteam called Inner Journey. I liked what I saw in that team. And this is the first challenge I am going to take on my inner journey.

The Ultimate Self Care Challenge Part I

The Absolutely Yes List

"You can't make sanity out of an insane situation."
Cheryl Richardson from her book Take Time for Your Life.

~~~~ Explanation ~~~~
So many of us live our lives running from one thing to another losing ourselves in the chaos that creates. Multiple tasks require attention, jobs, children, spouses, houses and all they entail. We become the caregivers for others but not for ourselves. This challenge is about taking our self-care to a whole new level. This may seem arrogant and selfish, practiced only by those people with a high sense of entitlement. You are ENTITLED.
WE ARE TALKING HERE ABOUT SCHEDULING YOU INTO YOUR SCHEDULE. We are going to take extreme action to improve our lives through daily habits of living. For the length of the challenge we will schedule time on our calendars every day.
This first part involves reclaiming your life by deciding what you absolutely have to include in your schedule, you time included. We need to become discriminating about how we spend our precious time and energy.
To start we are gong to make our Absolutely Yes Lists. Think very carefully about your top priorities, such a your emotional, physical and spiritual health, your children and significant relationships, community service, work related activities, etc. After you identify what needs your immediate attention, choose your top seven priorities--those things you are going to devote your time and attention to for the next month. I suggest writing these seven priorities on 3 by 5 cards and putting them where you can keep them in view. This way you can make sure your time is devoted first to those things that matter most. Most of us could cut out about 30% of what we now do. All other things you give the Absolutely Yes test to to decide if they are what you truly wish to undertake by asking yourself, "Is this an absolute yes?" In the process you will also be modeling good self-care to your children and/or others close to you.
~~~~ End explanation ~~~~

My list:

1 Study
2 Me time (fill with things I enjoy! Creativity, reading, playing video games etc)
3 Together time (boyfriend and cats)
4 Social time (SP, write letters and cards, meet up with friends)
5 Spiritual time
6 Abunai! & Fantasy Ezine (my volunteer jobs)
7 Healthy me (diet & exercise)

    It's like KISS - Keep It Simple, Stupid! I do this so many times in my day where I think something I need to get done is important and not really a necessity after all. Sounds like you got your head screwed on straight! emoticon

Harry Potter Challenge - Summer term

Monday, July 12, 2010

1. 3 simple goals for myself during this term?
- Get in 6-8 glasses of water for 5 days a week
- Exercise at least 10 minutes a day
- Track my calories 5 days a week

2. Possible obstacles?
The heat! For the exercise goal at least. We have the hottest summer since the 1940's or so. We are not used to this heat and our houses don't come with airco. We don't have a pool in our yard (the nearest is a 30 min bus ride away). So I don't dare to exercise much with these temperatures because I fear I will faint if I do too much. I can use some tips in this area.

The water goal is also tricky because I know I am not drinking enough when I am away from home. I hate to use public restrooms and they are not always there and with more water I have to use them more often. Restrooms in the train you really don't wanna use! That is why I build in this 2 days a week buffer since I am not often away for a long period of time.

3. Plan for overcoming those obstacles?
I am going to ask tips how to work out in the heat. The only thing I can do now is to take evening walks and that is about it.
For the water goal I already build in a buffer so 5 days I should just do it! Also consider where there are public restrooms that are clean enough. Not in trains ;) But in most restaurants they are fairly clean.

    I live in a very hot area of the country.

When it is this hot, you do need to plan physical activity around cooler times of day, drink plenty of water, wear loose-fitting clothing, and wear a hat and sunscreen.

You can do this!!!

Harry Potter Challenge - Wrap it up!

Sunday, June 27, 2010

1) One thing I messed up on
I messed up on charting about my future. I actually did it one time this week, which was really hard because I am more a here and now person. But I wasnt able to score points for the rest of the week with this challenge.

2) One thing I did great on
Tracking! I tracked every day I could and even backtracked, which I mostly don't bother to do. I was motivated by the challenge to actually track every weekday.

3) One thing I feel really good about
I feel really great about this challenge overall! It was such a fun challenge to do! Very creative which really inspired me to work hard and try my best for this challenge.

4) One very positive paragraph about anything you want to write on.
Yesterday I had friends over from my volunteer job. We organize an anime convention together. We worked hard on preparations and we had a lot of fun. I also got some exercise in because we went for an evening walk. I made sushi for the group and it was a good day!
