Haven't done much in the last year. But I'm back, and my husband has joined SP as well. Excited to see what the future holds!

Good for you guys. It seems like it would be very supportive to have your mate involved with SP too!!

I'm Slipping in a BAAAAD Way!

Thursday, March 03, 2011

Blah. I haven't logged much of anything in the last 2 weeks. I've made it to the gym a few times, but not as much as I would have liked. I'm super busy, working a ton, and have a big event this Saturday I've been helping with. When I'm stressed, I shut down.

I haven't gone tooooo far off the deep end, but I'm teetering. I need to pull it together! I've lost 21 pounds since 1/3 and I don't want to derail now. I have about 100 more to go before I get where I'd ultimately like to be. BLAH!!!

You've taken the first step to getting back on track by posting this. Hopefully things will slow down a bit after your event today and you can concentrate on your weight loss efforts a bit more. You can do it!

You'll do it! Maybe just cut yourself some slack? :) It sounds like you have a reason to have been pre-occupied but that event will be over this weekend so you can have a fresh start soon!

Great job on the weight loss thus far!! ... and I hope the big event goes smoothly.

THEY FIT!

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Almost 2 years ago I ordered 4 sets of scrubs online to wear to work. They're super cute (not plain-jane) and were expensive. Out of the 8 pieces (4 tops and 4 pants), not one fit in a way I would feel comfortable wearing it to work, and some of it didn't fit at all, as in COULDN'T EVEN PULL THE SHIRT DOWN OR THE PANTS UP.

For 2 years they have sat in the box they came in, taunting me every day as I wore old grungy scrubs, until I broke down and ordered some MORE, bigger, uglier, cheaper ones.

Guess whaaatttt????? Today I tried them on and every single piece fit and is work-appropriate. Yes, they are still in size 2x, but they fit! Yeah new work wardrobe! Yeah cute scrubs! Yeah me, down 19 lbs.! Yeah Sparkpeople!

This is Only a LITTLE BIT Depressing...

Tuesday, February 08, 2011

To make a long story short, 2.5 yrs. ago I received a Garmin GPS/Heartrate monitor for my 30th b.day. I was doing C25k and was up to being able to jog 20-25 mins. straight. I ended up having to take some time off due to some issues with my hip. Needless to say, that kind of derailed my desire to run, and then life got in the way.

I just got it back out yesterday and was fiddling around with it, and when I looked at my profile, my weight was THIRTY POUNDS less than when I started SP on 1/3 of this year. In 2.5 years, I have gained THIRTY POUNDS. Ohhhh myyyyy gooooodddd!!!! Seriously?!?!?!?

The good thing is that I have lost 13 pounds since 1/3, so only 17 more to go to get to where I was when I turned 30. That's not depressing or anything. Eyeroll...

I'm on the right track, though, so I'm not going to dwell on it. I'm slowly but surely making my way back down the scale, but wow -- what a kick in the gut to see that! emoticon

At least you are taking charge now, and the weight will come off!
I was looking back at my TOPS log, and last year I gained 26#... in ONE year! So, it could be worse lol!

I Did It!!!

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

Short but sweet -- I did it. I stopped eating when I was full, instead of cleaning my plate. This is HUGE for me.

I made a delicious, low-cal dinner. Sauteed whatever veg. I had in the fridge (ended up being cabbage, onion, mushrooms, and broccoli), added a cup of rice, 1/4 C. of black beans, and some seasonings. Then I put the whole thing over spinach, added some low fat sour cream and some salsa. Because of all the veg and the rice, it just grew and grew while I was making it, and ended up be a whole moutain of food on the plate. I ate about half and then scraped the rest into a container for tomorrow's lunch. I can't tell you how many times I would have made myself sick inhaling all of it, because it was GOOD!

I am changing and learning. I'm not faking it, I'm DOING THIS!
