Keep a log

Tracking your workouts and progression will demonstrate the gains you are making.


I know this may seem like a pain, but it does help. I have tried both ways. If you are trying to reach specific goals, then you need to know what you have accomplished and move it up a little bit the next week so you can keep your progression going. If you get tired out, then step it down for a week.

This also applies to nutrition. I have heard it so many times, "I didn't realize how many calories I was eating until I started tracking every bite. Now I know why I wasn't losing weight." Keep track of your calories and try to stay on track.

    I agree!! I have been tracking fitness minutes for about two years now and a food log nearly every day (I do take vacations off from tracking!) since 2005. It DEFINITELY keeps me on track!!

Take a break

Take a rest from working out occasionally you’ll come back with renewed vigor.

This could not have come at a better time. Today was my last real w/o for P90X Plus. Tomorrow is Kenpo X Plus/Run and Sunday is stretch day. Then it is rest week. Like I mentioned earlier in the week, 90 days of a workout is a long time.

I watched the getting started dvd for P90X and Tony really made this w/o really easy to customize to your body's needs. I can't wait.

Focus on feeling

Focus on the positives of exercise, how do you feel and how does it make you look.

I believe how you feel is VERY important. It is a self motivator. For me, when I do things for other people that they are not able to do for some reason or another, that encourages me to keep exercising and eating right. It also relieves LOTS of stress :)
