Rest

Muscles grow when the body is asleep so get
plenty of rest for maximum gains. It will also
help you to not over train.

This is just as important as your workout is.
Try to do this as much as you can. I understand
a lot of us live hectic lives, but try to make this
a priority if you are putting 100% into your
workouts.

Keep your workouts short

Muscles respond better to short intense sessions,
so does your boredom threshold and your life


60 min is long enough for me. I get tired and loose
focus after that. Since I know this about myself, I am
wondering how I am going to make it through a ½
marathon next year, LOL. I love the 5k runs!

Don’t go hungry

Starving yourself will just prompt the body to
slow down it’s metabolism as it thinks there’s
a famine so will store fat.

I preach this ALL the time! Your body needs a meal
or snack about every 3 hrs or so. Keeps the metabolism
cranked and prevents starvation mode.

    I've read this over and over throughout the years. I listened to a podcast a while back that said it was bunk. I've tried the eating every three hours and all it does for me is make me hungry every 3 hours or so. Sometimes when I'm not hungry I'm still eating because it's been 3 hours. The hardest part for me is to portion my calories correctly so that I'm not going way over and getting the proper nutrients with each "meal". I'm not sure which way is true.
