P90X Classic Day 7 Assessment

Monday, July 20, 2009

It's MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY emoticon The last workout for Week 1 of P90X Classic. I was as ready as I could be for work. A part of my past that has been lingering for 4 yrs has finally been faced today. It's time to turn the page to a new chapter emoticon

emoticon Day 7/Week 1 Stretch X workout. Not a whole lot to say about it. Just a bunch of stretching. What else can I say? I couldn't have planned the workout schedule any better. Considering this workout is also done after my work day and also lands on my busiest of my work days, nothing better than just SSTTTTRRRRREEETCHING the muscles for an hr. Personally, I think I would rather do the Yoga X for 90 minutes, but this will do for now. I did consider running afterwards. I decided that would defeat the purpose of relaxing the muscles. Especially since I will be getting up early on Tuesday mornings to CRANK out those push-ups.

emoticon Meal plan, hmmmm, NOT ONE! I ate 2 wheat turkey muffins for breakfast. Baby Spinach chef salad for lunch. More of that YUMMY DELICIOUS vegetable soup. Yep, still eating that. I think I have at least 2 more meals of that. I could have fed the whole team with that. My journey of my P90X chef training is not over. I still have lots of Tony's recommendations to experience. I won't bore you with the basic stuff. I will keep ya updated.

This is the last Assessment Blog emoticon emoticon for taking the time too read these and allowing me to share them with you. I hope they will benefit anyone that is starting their P90X journey.

P90X Classic Day 6 Assessment

Monday, July 20, 2009

Another day to workout after work, YIPPY emoticon OK Super_Gurl, I strapped on my HR & watch, got my water bottle & towel, and PUSHED PLAY!

emoticon Day 6/Week 1 was KENPO X. For some reason I had this thought in my head that it was going to be a little more strenuous. I was glad that I was mentally prepared for that and it actually wasn't. This workout really reminded me of Tae Bo workouts. The punches, kicks, and the general routine. I enjoyed it so much, that my second wind kicked in. I remember seeing someone post yesterday that they ran 5k after doing KENPO X (don't recall who it was). So that inspired me to do that since my second wind kicked in emoticon You know, you never know how long that second wind is going to last. I hate to quite what I have already started. 20min into the run the second wind was almost gone. I kept my focus and finished it off emoticon That was it for me. I will probably continue to add that to my KENPO X routine. See, that goes to prove, you never know who YOU inspire by posting in the threads emoticon emoticon for whoever did that on OUR TEAM!

emoticon Meal plan, hmmmmm, there wasn't one today either. My refrigerator finally has room in it now. I looked at all of my fresh fruits and veggies to see what needed to be eaten first. I made meals accordingly. I have enjoyed tracking my food this week. It helps me review everything and how to tweak it for next week. I don't quite understand a lot of it. That comes in time like everything else.

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS Monday!

P90X Classic Day 5 Assessment

Sunday, July 19, 2009

My first workout day on the program following my full day of working. It wasn't really that bad after working 12 hrs. I prepared myself and was ready.

emoticon Time to "BRING IT" to the legs, back, and ab ripper x. em>224.gif" alt="emoticon" width="42" height="42" border="0"> more leg workout. Still a little sore from PLYO. This will be good. I will be able to work out the kinks and soreness during this workout. My legs did really good. The pull-ups were pretty difficult. I did what I could do with my iron gym, then used my bands. This was the discouraging part of the program. I will turn this around to be encouraging though emoticon Before I knew it, it was time too kick in the ab ripper x. I was a little off tonight as far as my numbers were concerned. I did just a little less than normal. I'm glad that Saturday will be the only day during my work schedule that I have to do this. The rest of the week I can "BRING IT" harder.

emoticon Meal plan for the day, there wasn't one (ROFL). I kind of made it up as the day went along. It mostly consisted of left overs. Which was good. I hate wasting food. So far, I haven't had anything spoil on me. It is really getting close though. I'm sure on Day 6, I will have to look at everything in the fridge and see what needs to be cooked quickly. So basically, this is where I jump off the tracks with the recommended P90X meal plan. I agree with the team about the calorie intake. I do think the recommendations are too much. Personally, I am going to cut mine back down to 1700 - 2000 per day. Since I have been logging everything I eat this past week, the total fat percentage is going off the charts. This is most definitely going to change. I am going to continue eating a lot of the food that is recommended in the plan, just not as much and not on the recommended days.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend,

Hey, if I can do it after delivering babies for 12 hours, you can do it!! Not that we have one per hour or anything, but it's a lot of time on your feet. Congrats and enjoy!

P90X Classic Day 4 Assessment

Saturday, July 18, 2009

I woke up sore this morning from Plyo workout day before yesterday. That took my motivation and energy this morning. I pretty much procrastinated all morning long. Not really doing a whole lot. I read up and set the settings for my new HRM this afternoon. Then I read some of the teams post after that. 4pm finally rolled around and I was ready to "BRING IT"

emoticon I have my new HRM on and ready to start. Personally, I LOVED the Yoga X. My body really needed all the stretching. Around the 55min - 45min left to go marker, I was sweating pretty good. I figured once the 30min left to go came, it would start winding down. WRONG ANSWER! Some time around that was the core exercises. Some of those almost tore me down, but I still had enough energy to "BRING IT." If I remember correctly, sometime between 15min - 10min started the cool down. That 1min of lying on the floor with silence was AWESOME! It sure was a quick 1 min emoticon Over all the 90min didn't seem that long. I'm sure it was because I knew my muscles needed the stretching. Also, I don't really consider the Yoga as a workout. I'm pretty flexible and I enjoy stretching/balancing. I'm sure I will be looking forward to my Friday's.

emoticon Meal plan for today wasn't all that exciting. First thing first, my favorite protein shake and protein bar. Breakfast consist of 2 muffins with mozzarella and turkey sausage. With skim milk. Decided to make Monday night's dinner tonight, since the salmon was thawed. He recommended eating 8oz of salmon, I only ate 4oz. Along with some fresh asparagus and wild rice. I also only had half of the recommended portions of those. I will probably eat the rest for lunch tomorrow. Then tomorrow night have more of my DELICIOUS vegetable soup. That way I can take a day off from cooking emoticon Yes, the P90X chef in training needs a break from the kitchen emoticon

Hope everyone has a FANTASTIC weekend emoticon
