"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
During my run yesterday I was reminded of the sermon that was given by a guest pastor yesterday morning at our church. He talked about people that were thinking about leaving before they even arrived.
I believe we also do that with our workouts and our runs. Before we show up at the gym, press play at home or even starting our runs, we start thinking about what we are going to do once we finish. Our schedules are so busy ever day that we can't focus on what we are doing at the current moment. I know from my own experience when I do this, it usually makes the current activity long and dreadful.
If you are feeling this way, one way to fix this is to change up your activity that day. Do something that will inspire and motivate you. If you feel this way every day, then I would suggest to force yourself to do the workout and do the best you can. There are times we can get lazy and feel down. Maybe you are experiencing stress from finances or relationship.
I hear it all the time, "I am so glad I showed up. I am so glad I pressed play." Sometimes all it takes is getting prepared and making it through the warm-up.
I challenge everyone today (Monday is not over yet) if I have described what you are going through then take my suggestion and put it through the test. Let me know how it goes. Believe me, I have been there too. I broke my cycle yesterday.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
