My Favorite Body Part (w/pics)

I love my calves!!!!

Okay so I really hate to brag (really!!!!) however, when I rock my heels I get compliments on them all the time so I figured I'd share. Not to mention that I've worked hard to get them this way so I figured why not show them of?!?!?

Ah, if only!! You're right to be proud of em--they're awesome!!

If I only had some ankles, I might someday have a prayer, but alas--I will never be posting a photo of my legs as a "favorite body part", lol!

Mio Liquid Water Enhancer - Great Stuff!!!!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

I must admit, as much as I LOVE water, I occasionally feel the need to switch it up so instead of adding empty calories to my lifestyle (this is not a diet) I pull out my Mio!!!

The mini bottle is so small you can throw it in your purse or even put it in our pocket. They have 6 different flavors (My fave is the fruit punch).

Here's the nutrional value on it:

Calories - ZERO
Total Fat - ZERO
Sodium - ZERO
Sugars - ZERO
Protein - ZERO

Keep in mind, it is a bit pricey, one bottle is about $3.49, however, it has about 24 servings (more or less depending on how much you squirt in your water).

Fit Process on Running Shoes (w/ pics)

Monday, February 28, 2011

I live in Atlanta and they have a store called Big Peach Running Co. I went last weekend and got "fitted" for a new pair of running shoes. Here's how it went:

When you first get there you stand on the machine below:

This machine will tell the sales rep your arch type and foot width. It will also show where you apply the most pressure so that they know how much cushioning you need. It will even give you a suggested shoe size. Below is a pic of someone else's report.

After that, you jog on this treadmill for about 30 seconds:

There's a camera behind you that shows the rep HOW you run and whether or not you pronate. After your jog they slow down the video and you can watch a frame-by-frame video of yourself jogging. Here's a pic of a guy getting evaluated:

After all was said and done, I was told that I should be wearing a size 8.5/medium width sneaker. I don't pronate and I have a "good stride".

I must've tried on about 8 pairs of sneakers until I ended up with:

Granted, they're not the BEST looking shoe but they are super comfy and they fit me perfectly!!!!

I suggest everyone trying to find a spot like this one. It was well worth it. During checkout I was told that if I am ever unhappy with the shoes I can bring them back and exchange them. Comfort is their #1 priority!!! Love it!!!

By the way, here's the link to the store I went to:

It took me a long time to find someone who could fit me properly. Without the proper shoe a runner or walker will have knee pain, hip pain, back pain and be generally miserable and give up. I am so glad that you found a place that put the correct shoe on you. I have a very wide foot and very high arch and wear a7.5 but not all wide 7.5 shoes fit me. New Balance put an 8.5 on me and because of numbness in my feet, mostly gone now after back surgery, I couldn't tell that they didn't fit. I stopped exercising because of pain in my knees and hips. Now I have the right shoe, a shoe made on a particular last, and I am walking a 15 minute mile. I hope that others will read your blog and take note. So many people do not realize that a 7.5 (or any other size) isn't necessarily the right shoe and to find a place who can fit shoes properly.

I go to the Road Runner Sports store in Elkridge, MD. I love the Brooks walkers. I'm a fan of the store. I travel over an hour and the shoes are every bit worth the money.

I Don't Care If It's Free!!!!!!!

Thursday, January 20, 2011

During the Holidays I noticed something about myself.....I can't turn down free food!!! We went out for luncheons, folks would bring in pastries, the job provided bagels and pizza and we even celebrate birthdays with cake and ice cream. For every single event I'd show up and eat. I KNEW I couldn't have it but I'd eat it anyway. Why??? Because it was free!!!!!

But guess what?!?!? It is 2011 and I am fully aware of this problem so by putting this blog out there I PROMISE not to let it get the best of me. I'M DONE!!!

I CAN and WILL say NO to free food!!!

I don't need it and will survive if I don't eat it!

    Here's another gem:

If it wasn't food that people ate 100 years ago, it still isn't, so don't eat it!

Chemicals, preservatives, enhancements, coloring, tons of salt and sugar...great grandma wouldn't have made it that way, and certainly would not allow her family to eat it!

OMG...Is this REALLY a Medium top?!?!?

Friday, October 01, 2010

Yesterday was my birthday emoticonand I decided that I'd go do a little shopping. I found a top that I liked and decided to try it on. I took a large gray top with me into the fitting room and it seemed as though it was a tad bit big. Could it be???? I went back out and looked for a Medium in gray but they were out so I figured I'd try it in black. My heart was beating sooo fast LOL Could it be that a MEDIUM top fits after wearing XXL's?????? YES!!!! It fit! emoticon I was so happy I almost cried. Here are the pics of me in the fitting room LOL

A little over a year ago I never thought that I could make it this far. DON'T GIVE UP!!!! It takes time and as long as you stay focused it WILL happen. I'm living proof! emoticon
