an almost pleasant night.

Sunday, June 06, 2010

we did some minor house cleaning and had a nice quite day, that is until my grandma started calling. she just HAD to go to the bingo, even though she has none of her equipment for now and no transportation of her own. i agreed to take her and let her use my marker, seat cushion... then just before planning to get ready to leave, she called to insist that i come early to take her out to the graveyard and then back before the bingo. nice day, but very long night! i can't wait until her car gets fixed. the only good thing now is she can't be unleashed on the general public without warning until then. sad, but true.

    Sorry to hear about you predicament with your grandma, if it helps I set limits with my parents as they were running me ragged. It was a tough decision but one that was absolutely necessary as it was interfering with my family as well.

Best wishes; hope you can find some time for yourself and your family.

    Sounds super fun! Here in San Francisco it never really seems like summer -- hard to believe it's June -- although it is warm today. Swimming in a pool sounds wonderful!

    Hi TWEETYCOO;

I live in the South East edge of the country Middle way. I so am waiting for the day I can jump in the pool. I opened it in May so I could get it cleaned and chemicals stationary. Tomorrow, pray no thunderstorm I will get the steps in and clean it again. Next week it is on and I will spend hours everyday I can in it. Will have granddaughter with me also and you know where she wants to be. Good luck with your pool and exercises. May God watch over you always.

waiting for a new day in the morning.

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

as if our days were not stressful enough, my grandma called and insisted that one of us take her out to the graveyard to see my grandfather's grave. i might not have a problem with this had she not been out to "see" him every day for just more than 10 years. yes i said every day for 10 years with out fail!! there is a line between grief and sickness. i did take her on the stipulation that we stay for a short while and i would not take he again tomorrow. as much as i cared for my grandfather, this does seem to be excessive, especially when she cannot drive herself and must have a ride to wherever she goes. i will happily take her to the bank, the store, and i am more than willing to go to church and bingo with her. i'm just ready to scream! am i being selfish or oversensitive on this issue?

  Maybe instead of every day of the week you could perhaps suggest 1 or 2 days a week when you can take her for a longer-ish visit instead of trying to sqeeze in a short, hurried visit every day?

    Well, I'm sorry for your loss, but that was a long time ago. We all grieve differently, but we all also need to learn to cope with the loss. It's obviously time for her to learn how to, and maybe there's a way for you to help her with that, with out going to the cemetery every day. I not sure what exactly! But maybe there is something. Anyone have ideas? I do not believe that you are being selfish at all. I mean, you've spent, what was is, 10 years helping her out in this way? Try to be sensitive, but she needs to realize that she is making it hard for you, it's not just hard on her.
Don't really know if that helps at all or not, but it's my two cents worth!
Praying for you,
Barbie
