BOOST YOUR HAPPINESS!

Invigorating our brain with lemon!

A recent Ohio State University aromatherapy study found that folks' moods became significantly sunnier after sniffing a cottonball saturated with lemon oil. Earlier studies have shown that the scent keeps you alert, and scientists theorize that its invigorating effect increases energy and bocks fatigue and the depressed mood that goes with it.

Too upgrade your mood instantly: No need to spring for lemon essential oil; anything lemon-scented--including house hold cleaners and air fresheners, or even a slice of fresh lemon--can do the trick!

Bonus: The scent has also been proven to boost brainpower!

BEST SNACK PAIRS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Saturday, February 27, 2010

If cravings kill your diet, munch on these hunger-busting snacks, suggest Tanya Zuckerbrot, RD. In a 4-week survey, she found that women who snack on a combination of protein, fiber, and healthy fats feel more satisfied and have less of an urge to overeat.

Fiber increases satiety, and protein and fats digest slowly, delaying hunger.

Here are Zuckerbrot's top three combos--only 150 calories each. -Paige Nestel

2 c popcorn + 2 Tbsp trail mix

1/2 c fiber-rich cereal + 1 serving nonfat Greek yogurt

1 oz baked potato chips + 2 Tbsp bean dip

Information: Prevention, March, 2010

Note: I love to eat the air popcorn which is better for our health.

Complete my 10 Day Challenge No Meat

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

I can't believe that I completed my "10 Day Challenge of No Meat". I was hard at first then I made up my mind that I wanted to complete this. I got the idea from my sister who works at Safeway and all the employee's have to get on a healthy life style because of the Health Insurance for the job.

So I was determine to do this 10 day challenge and I did it!!!!!

I feel great because I did lose 2.2 pounds from this. I made up my mind that I will just eat meat on the weekend only.

I'm glad it did this challenge for me. This is the third challenge that I had set for myself.
Let me tell you. 1. I increase my exercise days from 3 days to 7 days working lite on the weekend. 2. Before my birthday 3.28.09 I challenge to walk 12,000 steps. 3. Now the 10 days without meat. Believe me I had a hard time starting ,but then I made up my mind that I wanted to do this.

If you make up your mind to do something, you can do it. Believe in yourself and don't let anyone or anybody tell you that you can't do what you wish to do.

On Friday, 2.19.10 my boyfriend had bought me breakfast from MacDonald's. What I did I took the meat out of the breakfast burrito and ate that. The breakfast muffin, sausage, cheese I place it in my girlfriend refrigerator and then I took it home and place it in the freeze. Now you tell me how in control I was. You know I will be having that for breakfast on Saturday morning. LOL.

Today, I am very proud of myself for completing this 10 day challenge.

I am going to get this weight off.

I hope everybody is doing great with your weight loss. I also have learned that if I don't loss no weight one week. I will make sure that I will lose the next week.

Just hang in there everybody. I have a saying," if I can do it, you can do it."

Keep up the good work. emoticon
