Spring is finally here! - scratch that - Spring was here, but today is nasty cold in Nova Scotia. I am looking forward to longer evenings of daylight and getting outside!!
I've been doing well focusing on healthy eating. I bought a Nutribullet for smoothies. I feel amazing! Getting the extra fruits & veggies has helped me to not have an afternoon slump etc.
This weekend I do a little bicycling with my son, and SME walking with the dog. Tonight I finally broke out the TurboJam DVDs and did the 20 minute workout.
I'm on my way to a healthier & happier Melanie!

I started today with no intentions of making New Years Resolutions or another 'diet plan'. I figured I would eat well, start moving etc - but not make resolutions.
Here I am 10:55 P.M. and I decided to make some commitments to myself.
This past few years since relocating, I have put most of my focus on my family & career. Now I'm ready to re-focus and put more time into me.
I have the resources here to help me be successful. I am successful and confident in my professional life, now I need to focus that energy on my body & health.
- I put the Sparkpeople App on my phone
-I have an App to remind me to drink water each day.
- I am committing to exercising 30 minutes 4 days a week for the month of January.
I decided to set my goal to be 180 pounds by May 1st. Then I will re-evaluate the numbers.
I have felt great and looked damn good at 180.
Here's to 2013!! May it be a year of health wealth love & happiness!!

I'm back to the 17 Day Diet. I decided to go back to day 1.
I feel really good and focused. It's nice to not have the pressures of travel, looking good in a dress, meeting new people, bathing suits etc while trying to lose weight.
With the fall weather approaching, I'm looking forward to going for walks in the brisk air. I'm looking forward to getting under 200 and approaching the holidays looking great!

I'm back from vacationing in Alberta. What a wonderful time we all had. My son traveled with me to my brother's wedding. We stayed with cousins, visited the mountains, went to Edmonton etc. Fantastic time!
I was in cycle 2 during my time away. I think I did pretty well to make good choices, but we did drink alcohol pretty much daily - but not heavily, more socially. When I weighed myself this morning I was 204.8, up from 201. I'm okay with that. I could still be a bit bloated from all the flying. We just got home Tuesday night.
I'm planning to jump back on the 17 day wagon as of Sunday. But I'm going back to cycle 1.

I'm doing okay. I have strayed a bit - had a few beer (like 2 a day over the weekend). I had a little cheese, but over all I did well. This weekend I didn't have my green tea as much as I should have, but that's okay.
Today is Day 10. I fly to Alberta in the morning. My plan is to stay hydrated, and follow the plan as much as possible. I have not lost anymore weight, but that's okay. I haven't been exercising either. I'm not sure if I should go to Cycle 3 or simply go back to cycle 1 after this.
I'll see how it goes.
I have noticed that feel good, my appetite is less and I sleep well. I love water. I din't miss bread or regular tea. I have no desire for rice or pasta. Feeling GOOD!
I'm not sure how much blogging I will be able to do for the next week but I'll check in when I can.
