I am enjoying

Saturday, April 17, 2010

the Walk to Rivendell Challenge on the Spark People Message Boards. I am enjoying the several new Sparkpeople members who are joining the walk. AND, I cannot express completely to you the fun that I am having every day that I use my Wii Walk It Out game. The first thing I do everyday on the Walk It Out island is find the spheres to make the rainbow. Then, as I Walk It Out, I can look up at my rainbow and smile. Walk It Out is addictive. My Omron Pedometer is helping me to accurately track my steps and mileage every day, including WIO steps. These are the steps/miles that help me on my Walk to Rivendell.

How sweet is that! emoticon

The Wii Walk sounds like fun. My youngest daughter has one with her down at school in Georgia; I got a chance to play with it last year when she was back on vacation. I should get one for myself. For now I have to go to the gym, the mall, or outdoor walking depending on the weather.

Transition from Spring Break

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed Spring Break with my kids and grandkids. And, it is wonderful to be back home. I'm getting back into my routine, although a little more slowly than I thought I would.

A Fine Week

Friday, April 02, 2010

My partner and I have had the good fortune to spend Spring Break with my kids and grandkids. While it's not quite over, I wanted to acknowledge that I feel very fortunate and that I will have some wonderful memories to carry me on until we can connect again.

I also have appreciated and enjoyed my continued Sparkpeople connection everyday, even though I am far from home and far from the routines of daily life. As my new, bright orange t-shirt declares: "LIFE IS GOOD". And so it is. emoticon

Update on the Pedometer

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

I purchased a relatively inexpensive pedometer to replace the one I drown the other day. I couldn't find an Omron Pedometer like the one I had. I really liked everything about it (the Omron). The look, the "heft", the ease of use. My new one does record steps and distance. But, I HAVE to have it hooked horizontally on my pant pocket or it won't work right. It dropped off unnoticed and I almost lost it on the first day I had it. It doesn't record time walked. It doesn't reset itself to zero's in everything at midnight ready for the next day, and it doesn't just slip into my pocket and work! I WILL be ordering a new OMRON pedometer when I get home. But, this one will do for now.) By the way, my injury to my left knee seems to be healing and I am finding it easier to walk again. Not totally back to normal yet. But it will happen.

I just got an Omron pedometer, and I LOVE it! It tracks calories, aerobic steps and time, regular steps, and distance. It is model number HJ-112. It hasn't fallen off (has a very nice clip), and I can put it in my pocket or purse, and it still calculates. I hope you find one that fits your needs!

Thanks for the update. I am currently shopping for a pedometer that won't fall off, and that will be accurate. Omron has had high recommendations from other SP here.

New Pedometer

Sunday, March 28, 2010

I purchased a new pedometer today. Not as good as my Omron pedometer, but it will be OK until I can replace it when I return home. The day is not conducive to walking outside...lightening, thunder, and lots of good rain. Maybe tomorrow. Oh for my Wii Walk It Out.
