Just do it...

Just do a little bit more of what moves you toward your goals, dreams, authentic self, do a little less of whatever moves you away. Not dramatic perhaps, but over time, anything and everything is possible. Would you believe I was actually able to get affordable airline tickets for my grandkids to visit this summer. it was looking pretty grim (prices, gas hikes...), but tonight, a miracle happened and I was able to book the flights and all systems are go. How cool is that? I am very excited, as are they! Have a great weekend.

Great blog, so just a little bit more can make a difference on ones journey to healthy living.

Your timing was awesome on your tickets, while reading your blog, the news said airlines increased prices today. It is so nice that you will be able to visit with grandchildren.

3 Goals:

1. Eat six or more fruits and vegetables a day.
2. Exercise 180 minutes every week.
3. Express myself in a positive way to myself, my teammates, and anyone else that I communicate with verbally and in writing.

Expectations:

I am going to focus on the overarching idea and belief that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! My expectation is to ENJOY THE JOURNEY, no matter what!

    It is really great to have something to look at to keep you motivated. Sharing My Introduction Log to My 5% Challenge Team...

1) What motivated you to take on a healthier lifestyle? I want to have a healthier, more energetic life and lifestyle. My goal is a positive improvement in my quality of life.
2) What is your goal for this challenge? Exercise 180 minutes a week. Eat 6 to 8 freggies/day.
3) What diet are you following? Spark Resources.
4) What is your favorite exercise? I enjoy walking my dogs. I enjoy using Wii Walk It Out and Leslie Sansone Walking At Home DVDs.
5) Two random fun facts about you? 1. I am an animal handler at the local Aquarium where I volunteer. Burmese Python & Red Tailed Boa Constrictor, Florida Soft-Shelled Turtle & Alligator Snapping Turtle, etc. It's fun to share info with the visitors. 2. Firewalking: I walked on burning coals to celebrate my 40th birthday. Lots of good lessons. And No, I did not get burned or get blisters!
6) Would you like to have a Spark buddy? From my first Shooting Stars team experience last time, I think my Stars teammates are my buddies!! My goal is to focus on providing support and encouragement to everyone over this challenge and getting the same too. :-))
7) Anything else you would like to share? Nothing is impossible!

Great blog, I love the feeling of motivation in your blog and a great attitude to go with it. I still think it is amazing that you are handling those snakes. So you walked on burning coals. I haven't seen that in 12 years. Our church had a Saturday evening event and walking on coals was one of the things. Several of my friends did it. So, a big congratulations to you.

Assignment #1...

Assignment #1

These are my goals for the 2011 Winter 5% Challenge. I will follow them to the best of my ability.

1. I will log my daily nutrition and fitness info on the Spark Trackers daily.
2. I will try 1 new healthy recipe every week of this Challenge.
3. I will exercise using my Wii Walk It Out or my Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs for at least 30 minutes 5 days of every week.
4. I will check in with my Shooting Stars team everyday and I will offer support and encouragement to my teammates.
5. I will ask for support and help when I need it.
6. I will weigh in once a week.
7. I will follow Sparkpeople nutritional guidelines and stay within the calorie range at least 5 out of 7 days every week.
