Hanging in There!

So it is now into the month of February and I am hanging in. I am still posting daily onto Spark People, recording my food and fitness. I bought a Fitbit and it really motivates me to reach my goals. With my fitbit I MUST climb at least ten flights of stairs each day. I am also suppose to walk at least 10,000 steps each day but I must admit that one is a little tougher to fit in.

I know it sounds silly but the bonus wheel really motivates me as well. Each day I log onto Spark People and make sure I get enough points to spin the bonus wheel. The little trophies you get for amassing points helps too. I think it is because I am working hard at this weight loss thing and the scale doesn't necessarily acknowledge my efforts right away. At least the points adding up on Spark People tells me that I am doing well. It is the small things that add up to make a difference so eventually the scale will reward me.

Familiar Theme: I'm Back at It!

So here I am again. It is January and I return to Spark People for the motivation to lose some weight. I had a pleasant surprise to learn that I am in fact 30+ pounds lighter than last January. I am not sure exactly what to credit my weight loss because I don't think there has been any ONE thing. Last winter I started meeting my friend every morning to walk for 45 minutes. The previous September I vowed to bring my lunch to work every day and have stuck to it. Last August I began a challenge to make one small change each week to make me healthier. Changes such as start each day with a warm glass of lemon water, eating a healthy breakfast each morning, ensuring at least three servings of vegetables. Each small change has been easier to implement and stick to it.

I must admit over the holidays I stopped adding to my weekly healthy choices but now that the holidays officially end today I will get back at it. Also, returning to Spark People rejuvenates my motivation. It is funny how simply spinning the Spark People week each morning reaffirms my commitment to my weigh loss goals.

Speaking of goals, what are they for 2013? I am hoping to lose another ten pounds by March, another 10 pounds by my birthday in June and then another ten pounds by Labour Day. That would be another 30 pounds........I know I CAN do it.....like the Nike ad says, it is a matter of "Just Do IT!"

It has been well over a year since I last posted and my last post is exactly what this post is going to be. I have worked so hard in the past to lose weight but I just haven't been able to keep it off. I am going to try it one more time!!

In the past my motivation has always been appearance. I have recently bought new clothes that look OK and when I wake up in the morning I am no longer stressed about what to wear. This is all because I just bought bigger sizes. BUT......I am not feeling well. By the end of the day I am tired, no motivation etc etc. I know it is because I am not eating well.

Just keep with me spark friends, give me another chance. I know what to do, I just have to put it into action!!

I am hanging on by my fingernails. I worked very hard to lose weight and get under 200 and now not only have I stopped losing I am sure I am starting to gain. The summer time is so out of routine for me.....excuses, excuses.

I am just going to go back to what worked for me in the past.....Sparkpeople.

Recording my food choices and keeping in touch with my motivating sparkfriends make all of the difference. Now that's it's summer time there is no reason why I can't do it!!!

It's time to get back under control......I can do it!

Hello Spark Friends

It has been much too long since I have posted. So sorry for the delay. I have been very busy with work and life etc so I have procrastinated with my Spark page and blog.

I have good news to announce that I have officially lost 50 pounds! I would like to lose fifty more but my goal for the summer is to start up a fitness programme that I can really stick to and to keep the weight I lost off for good!

I must admit since my weight loss it is so much easier to get out of bed in the morning. I don't know if it is because I have lost weight and it is just easier on my body or because I no longer have that horrible nothing fits me problem when I get dressed.
