Boy did I blow itTuesday, August 03, 2010
Recently in one the threads there was a question about what causes you to overeat or go off track. People listed things like stress, late night eating, family occasions... I kept saying while I was reading, I no longer did that or that or that; and I was feeling pretty good about it. Hubris, the gods will put you in your place. Usually flat on you butt in the mud. ![]()

We all have our bad times -- trust me on that one! Keep it up, stay upright and healthy, and reach out to us for help when needed! (Heck, even when you don't need it.) Report Inappropriate Comment |

First off, it's a new day and it's going to be a better one! Oh Trish, I'm so sorry your leg was causing you so much pain. You have been doing so well getting around and exercising and I can see why the pain and the difficulty walking would have caused you tremendous stress. I'm glad you are getting in to see the doctor and my thoughts are with you. Yesterday was a bad food day for me as well. I just ate too much of the wrong things. My poor choices were not stress related but due to poor planning. I took my son to Six Flags and usually I pack a lunch in the cooler and we eat at the car. Then I just buy him an ice cream or something at the park later and I'm fine. Well yesterday, I didn't get up in time to pull together a lunch and I told myself it was a pain to trudge back to the car and eat lunch so we'd just pick up something at the park. BIG MISTAKE! It cost $36 for two hamburgers, fries, and drinks. I just ate the burger patty and threw away the bun but because I still starving I also ate the fries. This would have been forgivable due to all the walking but then before we left, Nick wanted an ice cream and I one for myself as well. Then by the time we got back to town it was 7:00 PM and I had nothing prepared for dinner so I picked up Panda Express and while I tried to stick with better choices. It had a ton of sodium and I ate way too much of it. So let's start fresh again today and make the rest of the week better. That's all we can do and we CAN do it. ~Christy Report Inappropriate Comment |

I think most of us have done it, Trish. My weakness is Haagen Daz and once I start I can't stop until it's empty. Sometimes I wonder if they don't put something in it to make us want more and more. That sure would explain a lot! Today will be a better day. Sorry to hear about your leg. I hope they can get it healed to a point where it stops being so painful. Dee Report Inappropriate Comment |

Since I tried raspberry iced tea many years ago I've loved it. I truly hate to think about the about of calories in, since it never requires sweeteners. I missed it when I changed my eating habits, I had even give up Zero Coke in for water, green tea, and herb tea. One day last month I was stand in the store looking at the tea and a light bulb went off in my head; raspberry zinger and green tea together might be a good sub for my beloved raspberry tea.
Of course, I bought the raspberry zinger and tried it that night. I drink out of huge mug(helps getting in those glasses of water you need), so I tried it and it worked. After trying it various ways, I found for my taste that for 6 cups of water(which is what my mug holds) I use two green tea bag and one raspberry zinger bag plus two packets of equal sweetener. If your a lover of raspberry tea you should try this. Of course now I'm trying the other zingers in similar mixes. I really like the lemon zinger and green tea mixed.
Oh I shared a recipe for chicken salad with apple and lime, it is very tasty, try it. It also works well with grapes, I use about cup and half of grapes when I use them, I didn't state this at the end of the recipe because it was factored in the calorie count.

That ice tea sounds good! I can't tolerate Equal though so I will use Splenda or stevia instead. I love grapes in chicken salad, sometimes I add them to mine. Report Inappropriate Comment |
